Yea, I wondered about that too. I mean here fixtures are like curtain rod holders, kitchen cabinets, sconces etc.
Unless that is like a southern colloquialism. You know "have ya fixture broked headlight on yer truk"

Here we just call em games.....
And I always thought that soccer games elsewhere were called "matches" .....guess there are a lot of options out there......

Soccer games.....sometimes "matches" if an American really wants to get obsequious and tries to emulate a Euro.

It's taking a little longer this year due to the NFL shifting more of their resources from scheduling to getting to the bottom of deflategate.
