Is stating the facts for the sake of argument bragging?

  • The only position group I'll give the Steelers the definite edge is at QB...

... it just so happens that's the most important position on the entire field...

  • When you are a visitor on a BROWNS BOARD, and you

    are a squealer fan...

YA. I'm not complainin, I'm just statin a fact, jack.

Seriously? Receiver, tight end certainly with Cameron gone. Running back and other areas being close.

    Thank You!

He started this thread because of me and I'm sure it took him ten minutes tops. Googled the depth chart and posed a question.

    go Browns

Yes, right. We had this topic in another thread and I decided to discuss it in a new thread in order to get more participation on it....not just you and I bantering it between ourselves. Why? Because it was a "legitimate football area of discussion" that you have been clammering for.

And it only took me about 2-3 minutes to put it together. And yes, I Googled the depth chart. That is what smart people do when they want to be accurate...the look stuff up.

The problem is Vag.....your idea of a "fact" is to say "James Harrison is better than Paul Kruger".....that is neither a fact, nor a legitimate opinion....you follow? What you say are facts are just often your own delusions.

Now...I did see some facts posted on here: the PFF ratings listed by Mudfly. And you dismissed those as somehow misguided.

So, maybe the PFF ratings ARE misguided in that the algorithm that they utilized is flawed....but I don't know that. It seems like a straightforward mathematical computation to me.

Maybe someone can post their methodology....which may be mathematical Greek to all of us....but at least it would give us a chance to judge its accuracy.

Receivers with A. Brown (and we without Gordon) yes.

RB, certainly after last year's production.

TE....historically Miller certainly has been the more productive TE.....but the 2015 version? I don't know that he will be any better than Bray, Barnidge and Housler. He may be your 2015 version of 2014's Troy Polamalu....a guy that maybe shoulda hung them up.

But, yes, historically you have a basis to make your claim. I still think the question is open.

Do you have another TE you are touting?

It wasn't a criticism Gipper. Relax.

You barely have Gordon and the rest of our core is more stout. The browns as it stands have a bunch of journeyman at receiver. We are going to need to draft another tight end and production or not bell is possibly the best running back in the NFL. He's certainly the most complete and he's just getting started

Lol. I'm happy to stop. People need to speak up when Gipper is talking nonsense unless of course you agree with the angle he usually applies. If the board were held to a higher statistical and factual standard there would be less bickering. My steeler board is full of disagreements but it almost never goes to insults and its settled intelligently. There is a lot of recess level antics here. It is entertaining for me but I know it shits up the board.

  • Be very afraid browns fans...be very afraid! 🙂

Hey why not have an eye test comparison at which group looks the most intimidating!?

    Post your browns Lbacker pics.

    Harrison...still looks like a beast!

Jarvis ...looks like a skinny runt that I could knock on his ass.

Just the middles, Jarvis and James. Far left is Vince Williams, Jones, Spence, James and Shazier. The group pictured has been in the gym together for a couple months now and apparently Vince Williams is competing with Harrison in the weight room. Picture was taken before James signed I believe.

Scoreboard.. Combine both games, Our awful offense hung more points than your offensive wonder you claim you are.. C YA!!

Ummm its not my claim. The stats don't lie and the steelers exploded after the Cleveland game. If your win were later in the season you likely would have lost. Didn't the steelers finish 11-5 and win the division? You can have your win. I would much prefer winning the division.

Congrats, you won the division. You got to play one more game and got embarrassed on National TV.

If our WIN was later in the season you likely would have LOST? What in gods name does that mean. If we won we won, how can we likely lose but definitively win?

Thats where we disagree. Faith in the F/O is what I had when Colbert and Cowher were together, but since Tomlin, Colbert hasnt been as good, They held on to Troy 1 season too long because they had no suitable replacement. I have high hopes for Shark, but he still needs to prove. Tuitt is going to be awesome with Heyward and McClendon. Shazier will be a lot better this year, barring injury. Jones should be too. He was showing good until the wrist last year and never came back, but I'm sure the wrist made it hard to shed blocks.

I agree with every part of your post except for your bit on Tomlin and Colbert. I was and am a big cowher fan but it took him a long time to win the big one. I do believe some of that has to do with the patriots cheating the entire AFC but that's a secondary point. Troy didn't indicate until last season that he lost a step, injury may have masked it but his presence in the locker room and on the field cannot be denied. I've made the argument here that I'd have liked to see him take a pay cut and stay another. We also did draft a replacement but shark was battling hamstring problems. We signed mike Mitchell as well and paid him pretty good money. The team was addressing the secondary. Tomlin has also hit on a lot of players in the draft. He's missed on some too but run the list. A quick one would be Timmons, Brown, Bell, Heyward, Bryant, Wallace, Sanders, Wheaton although he's less proven. I think both Vince Williams and Spence are starters in this league and the team didn't give up on Spence after a pretty horrific injury. Decastro, beachum in the 7th. Pouncey and the most goes on...some of these guys are no brained draft picks but the point still stands. I don't know why certain steeler fans are hard on Tomlin. He's one of the most successful coaches in the nfl and his players love him.

Tomlin is no better then Romeo Crennel. All Tomlin did was take what Cowher had already set in place. Tomlin doesn't get his players ready, how else can you explain the Connor Shaw led Browns putting up a much better fight in a game against the Ravens that meant nothing, to the Steelers being embarrassed on national TV in Ketchup Field by the same Ravens team....

I'm gonna have fun with you. Feisty. The steelers made a bed they had to lay in last season. Blount was cut which forced them to sign a guy from the street to carry the load in a playoff game. Are you telling me you would rather finish 7-9 than win the division and at least make the playoffs? If the Browns were better they would have won the division no?

All I'm telling you is congrats on winning the division and getting to play another game and lose, nothing more, nothing less.
