  • So any miscomprehension in my post?

having a discussion is fine as long as you know the other 'person' is still breathing. hawkins is a logical person but i doubt if he was ever called the life of the party.

lighten up. sometimes when a person lobs a hand grenade at you, you throw it back instead of just diving on it.

  • I could say the same to you, since my original post was half tongue in cheek.

Someone educate me because I am not a basketball guy at all, why is the common thought that there are too many games? What do people think is a good amount of games?

    good question.

considering it is an up and down sport as far as running is concerned players must think about lasting the season. IMO soccer players are the best conditioned athletes in the world (although i could give a shit about the sport) because it's like a marathon run with no breaks (hardly).

then look at a basketball season compared to a soccer season.

water polo has to require some hellacious conditioning.

Compare say the number of college football games to the number of pro games: usually about 12 vs. 16. So college football has 75% of the number of games that the pros have. Where college basketball on the other hand has about 30 games regular season games...plus limited tournament games.....vs. 82 regular season games for the pros. Almost 3 times as many..plus the NBA playoffs system is bloated with 16 teams playing four rounds of best of 7. In theory...for the champion or runnerup...the playoffs could add as many as an additional 28 games to the schedule (about as many an entire college regular season).

As to what would be a good amount. Unknown, but possiby 60 some.....but they won't give up that money.

  • i know a lot of people who hate it because it's dominated by black athletes. to that i say go watch nascar.

what game each of us leans towards i guess would be what each of us consider exciting.

lived in boston when the bruins were last relevant and went to many a game right behind their bench.......

still think it blows. and baseball?? GTFO.

The Bruins won the Stanley Cup in 2011...and lost in the Finals in 2013.....are you saying you just moved from Boston in like the last year?

  • Thanks Gip

  • Lebron dismantled the Hawks in dominant fashion. It was pretty awesome to watch. I've followed the Cavaliers pretty closely since my time in Kent, that series was impressive. The NBA still isn't the same for me. I grew up watching the Jordan/dream team era but watching the Cav's especially this playoff has been enjoyable. I hope to see a parade in Cleveland soon.

LOL, it's been so long- I'm not sure we even know how to have one. 🙂

It feel like that to me. Its Our Year but we gotta get one early or it can change fast. I think lebron is very ready just to strap one on and carry this team to victory

Tonights game as we all know is key in this series.. If we get tonight.. I think mentally this puts a strain on GS and it of course, favors us to win the series. I think the Cavs are also methodically getting into GS's head , just like they did Atlanta. But as we all know.. Nothing comes easy in C-Town.

We are in the Warriors heads for sure. They looked pretty down and out last night. Frustration is setting in. I expect them to come back hard tomorrow but if we nail them with another round of hard ass defense, we will break them down in the long run.

if the cavs can stay 'replenished'. lots of minutes by a not deep team.

    carry on.

  • The minutes should be ok this late. There's only 2 more games to win. They will dig deep and leave it all out there and bring this one home as long as no one else gets hurt. I think GS will come out gunning hard, but they are so frustrated they will break down faster even. And when you are pressing and forcing things can go real bad real fast. They better find someone to take charge and play good early or the cavs might roll them and blow one out. I can see it happening
