I think people are enraged in general. Yes I could quite literally rip a mans jaw off with my bare hands if I found him poaching an elephant or a rhino. I want people to die horribly over this. I'd pop the 7th seal if it meant that shit comes to an end. I'm getting really fucking sick of people. For a fucking trinket. A mother fucking trinket. But hey, nature is a resource for us to exploit to our whim an fancy right?

Why is a lion any more tragic or important than the scores of coyote/ cougars/ alligator/wild boar/bear

Coyotes are a danger, and a nuisance in populated areas. So are cougars.
And alligators, though, would also get way ,way overpopulated and are a serious danger to
people and pets. and they eat alligator.
Same thing with wild boar. And they eat wild boar. Groundhog holes get people and horses and pets injured, especially
in winter. I don't know about hunting bear - don't think they eat bear..
but the lion was deliberately lured away from a protected area - an animal that knew protection and was not
afraid of people shooting at it.

I hunt for food, and make sure I bring the appropriate caliber to humanely take down the animal instantly.
As for the conservation stuff, I'm ok a with that - as long as they take an "earmarked " trophy. And again, bring enough damn gun you stupid fucks.
If Cecil took off and ran after being hit with a broad head from a crossbow (that's fucking impressive for those keeping score), one of the guides should have already had a bead on him with a 300 win mag or larger and smoked his ass.

Looks like extradition is on the table. I hope they do send him back. And this isn't about emotion over a single lion...this is about setting an example to some of these rich guys that think only U.S laws apply to them. And even U.S laws they think only mildly relate to them. anyone that agrees with the denstist is a Retard. they tied a dead antelope to the back of their wagon and dragged it across the parking lot so the lion would smell it and approach. a parking lot. then they put huge spotlights on while the lion came walking across the parking lot so the dentist/hunter could pull up and aim his bow and shoot it. he did and he het the lion. but it didn't die, so thye had to (with the spotlights beaming ontop their jeeps) race it down where they found it and shot it. the huntet then took the lion's head as a trophy and left the carcus for whatever animals would eat it.
i get hunting and i get the gun thing but c'mon.......can't even the toughest right or left son of a bitch just realize that this shit is wrong?

Here in West Virginia deer hunting is allowed as a way to control the deer population so that not as many
starve to death during the winter. I, my father-in-law, nephews, etc. usually get our limit and if you come to
dinner at any of our houses throughout the year there is a good chance that venison will be part of the meal.
On the other hand, the orthopedic surgeon who did my hip replacement has a partner who has pictures of
his big game conquests which cover the wall of their waiting room. Among them are the surgeon posing with
a zebra, an eland, and a hippo--a fucking hippo for the love of god. He goes to reserves in Africa where the
guides lure the animals out into the open and he shoots them. From what I hear, his home is something out of
a Stephen King novel with stuffed lions posed to pounce on stuffed zebras and the like. The guy is the biggest
pussy you've ever met in your life.
Then you have the bad-assed bear "hunter's". A hunt consists of these yahoos mounting up on their four wheelers
and chasing a bear through the woods until it is exhausted. At which point they corner and shoot it. They then
exchange high fives and pose and post the pictures on Facebook.
And then you have the "fishermen". They get up at four in the morning and sit by the side of the road, waiting
for the truck from the hatchery to pass by on it's way to stock trout in the rivers. I swear I've seen a stock truck
with 10 cars following it on it's way to the river, cars full of guys ready for the cover of Outdoor Life. SMH.

Getting large sums of money from foreigners to hunt one animal, so you can reinvest it and potentially save dozens, seems like the only strategy they have though.
Well I guess we could open up a reserve and let hunters come in and shoot death row inmates. I bet that would help offset the costs of incarceration!
