Getting large sums of money from foreigners to hunt one animal, so you can reinvest it and potentially save dozens, seems like the only strategy they have though.

Well I guess we could open up a reserve and let hunters come in and shoot death row inmates. I bet that would help offset the costs of incarceration!

    😉

That doesn't sound anymore cruel or unusual as an electric chair

    "Than" an electric chair.

  • The only grammer mistake was anymore should have been any more.

  • I can't believe we live in a society where people are more concerned over a fucking lion than homelessness or sexual slavery in ISIS

I wish the lion was still alive but fuck all these fake celebrities and SJW's, eat shit and die you phonies

    Tell me about it.

Even those in Zimbabwe don't understand the American outrage. Asked why the killing of a lion is such a big deal. Lions are killed all the time.

Its a big deal because stupid bleeding heart Americans board learned of it...like those on this board.

But most people in Zimbabwe don’t care about the dead lion, as they have much greater problems to deal with, such as an 80 percent unemployment rate, insane monetary inflation and a hugely corrupt government.

“Are you saying that all this noise is about a dead lion? Lions are killed all the time in this country,” said Tryphina Kaseke, a used-clothes hawker on the streets of Harare. “What is so special about this one?”

The truth is, most locals in Zimbabwe actually look forward to the big game hunts that Westerners engage in, as the high price tag for the hunts means money pumped into the local economy, not to mention the meat from such hunts is required by law to be given to local tribes and villages.

“Why are the Americans more concerned than us?” said Joseph Mabuwa, a 33-year-old father of two. “We never hear them speak out when villagers are killed by lions and elephants in Hwange.”

Lions and other large animals are typically viewed as dangerous by the local population, and if these animals are not hunted, their populations will explode and bring about all sorts of other issues, like rampant disease and increased attacks on people.

  • apparently they spent a lot of money on this preserve, it's a tourist attraction and something they hope revitalizes the local economy.....so the notion that people there don't give a fuck about this is ridiculous. Maybe people in other parts of Zimbabwe that aren't affected by tourism, fine...yeah why would they give a fuck? But people in the immediate area can't afford to have animals lured and shot off the land. And it's not just Lions.

But I think most of you are missing the point as to why people "here" are pissed. It's not just about one singular Lion, it's about all these endangered animals that rich people naturally assume they have kill rights on. That shit has to stop yesterday. People need to start being shot just like poachers are. There needs to be a mercenary army filled with well paid ex spec ops from all over the globe who have no limits on what they're allowed to do with people they catch. Pull some of these recruits away from Isis and give em something actually worthwhile.

  • Bad shit happens and I think no matter where you live it is okay to be outraged when bad shit happens. What gets my dander up is this "human" condition of downplaying that bad shit and furthering ones own agenda. So as to say "Jim killed four people in a movie theater but abortion exists"

  • i'm a little weirded out too that this planned parenthood bs isnt getting more attention. The bio companies behind that demand for baby parts are gettting such a clean skate it's ridiculous. I want them all outed and explaining why exactly they need 3rd trimester baby parts.

Contradict yourself much? Way to take a stance tubby.

  • ooohhh!

Cecil the Golden Eagle bought it ...

There are nearly 5,000 energy-generating turbines at Altamont Pass, where the golden eagle was fatally struck.

    thanks ALOT obama...

I guess that's the reason I stop into this forum to see what the whackjobs are cooking up to prove a point. A turtle being hit by a car crossing the road is the same as a fucking loser paying top dollar to bait a lion off of a wildlife preservation to kill it for a trophy.

    Bunch of StocktonShorts around here.

You're the Retard. How do you know he paid to have it lured off a wildlife reservation?

Oh how the mere killing of a majestic beast has pulled the heartstrings of so many of you pantywaist freaks.

So if this hunter killed a giant boa constrictor, would it have evoked the same outcry?

    Don't boa constrictor lives matter?

How about a black mamba? Don't black mamba lives matter? LOL

It's exactly the same because the losers on this forum who can't formulate a valid cogent argument just make it the same. No it's exactly the same cause we said so. Like if they just repeat over and over that apples are the same as oranges...that somehow the universe bends to their impudent will and says ok apples and oranges are exactly the same you win. lols

    "Cecil the Turtle"

    etc etc. LOL.

So you think this is some kinda joke do ya? 🙂

Tell that to the lion cubs that may be killed by Cecils successor Beanie....

Cecil teamed up with another lion Beanie, who is believed to either be his brother or friend.

It is thought that Beanie will now take lead controlling the prides, however his reign could be short lived, as he will struggle to protect the prides without Cecil’s leadership and strength.

It is likely that new males will soon invade the territory looking to take over. It is also a concern that Beanie may kill Cecil’s cubs so that he has a higher chance of protecting his own offspring. He also may wish to mate with the lionesses that Cecil left behind, and this may also cause him to kill Cecil’s cubs.

There you have it...the saga of Beanie and Cecil.
