You can also make beer, wine and some seriously good meth at home.....😉

and monopolies are supposed to be illegal.....soooooo......so much for free enterprise, eh?

Pal I think you're getting the idea that I give a fuck. Legal, illegal who cares? There are some de facto monopoly is in the world. Oh well. Weed is no different than any other product and people will make big profits from it despite the fact that the supporters like to think it's all peace love and flower power. I suppose you guys just have to make a decision between corporate profit and being allowed to get high legally. Are you letting the perfect be the enemy of the good?

You are generalizing a group and saying we are all peace love and flower power. I know plenty of people including cops and some who have never smoked it that think it should be legalized.

You honestly sound like an ignorant pick on this one.

How do they tell if you are under the influence of weed?

Most people show typical symptoms. Some do not. These people probably have higher tolerance, similar to alchohol. You can get arrested for dui without taking a breathalyzer (the only sure way of proving intoxication). So if you pass some sort of weed sobriety test you should be allowed to go on your way.. just like alchohol.. which is LEGAL.

  • A. Alchohol doesn't affect other people via the smoke.

    B. Weed affects all the air around other people.

    C. Causes lung cancer.

    D. Ever heard of second-hand alchohol?

    E. Didn't think so.

    F. Should remain illegal.

    Who said anything about "they"???

You would know that you are. Be an adult for 5 minutes.

Second hand high is a myth. You would need to be trying to get high through second hand smoke to actually achieve that.

    B. Weed affects all the air around other people.

Don't hang around those who smoke. It's really easy. It's the same reason I don't hang around cigarette smokers.

    C. Causes lung cancer.

So do cigarettes at a much faster rate and they are more addictive.. and legal.

    D. Ever heard of second-hand alchohol?

Again with the second hand high myth. Trust me from my days when I was around it a lot. It's not possible.

    E. Didn't think so.

You probably thought this one was particularly clever when you were typing it.

    F. Should remain illegal.

I'm still waiting for a good reason for it to remain illegal. Much of what you said here is false information. I wouldn't expect you to know much on the topic anyways so maybe you'll take it from someone who up until very recently hung out with some smokers and actually knows and understands the effects.

I know this won't sway you because A.) It makes sense, B.) It means you would have to change your mind, and C.) You would have to admit you were wrong.

B and C are impossible with you so I will fully expect you to think you know more than me and spit your stupid anti weed propoganda.

I wouldn't get into an argument with you about farming. You know more than me there. I'm no pot farmer, but this is similar.

  • I've heard some reasonable support for pro weed but all the anti weed seems to be coming from a bunch of uninformed haters. Actually, you guys kinda sound like dems on this one. Uninformed, unmoving on the topics, resorting to things like calling all pro weed supporters flower power and such.

    Big serious trouble.

  • Alcohol causes mean dependant drunks. I hate alcohol for that.

    not a hater

but realistic - seriously current crops of marijuana grown here can be 10 times stronger now

but stupid is still stupid - your choice brah..

  • What's your point?

  • yea your right.... Im sorry to walk in on your delusional thinking.....

  • just that there are alot of "shipwrecked" lives from the use of weed....

    dont believe me?

    http://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/drugfacts/marijuana

but dont let me get in the way of your beliefs.....

  • I smoked my first joint in the sixties when I was a teenager. I got out of the Army in 1973 and all the friends I grew up with were pot heads. All they wanted to do was get high. Thats what turned me off from pot. Went into the Navy and at the time a lot of people smoked pot. Until the 1980's when there was a major aircraft mishap on a carrier. They did autopsies and 14 had THC in their system. Thats when the military started doing drug tests (urinalysis).

    My point is this

With the testing they have now, they couldn't tell if a person was under the influence at that exact time.

I don't know if they have a weed breathalyzer. And if you refuse the breathalyzer, how do they prove you are high?

  • Ok, diehard. I agree the military should drug test and you should not be smoking pot if you're enlisted. It's not just your life on the line and the man to the left and right need to rely on you.

There is a time and a place to smoke if you want to. If all you want to do is get high then you have a problem inside you. The problem there is not weed. You know there are people that have their lives torn apart from alchohol, heroine, cocaine, gambling, etc. The problem lies in the human and not the plant.

Fairweather, I don't know what the fuck you are talking about. I seriously was asking what's your point about marijuana plants being 10 time stronger now. And there are many lives shipwrecked by things much worse than marijuana as I listed above.

So both of you are probably asking, ok.. these problems are not terribly severe compared to other vices, bit why should we just make one more vice legal?

1 We are losing billions of dollars that are not going to Johnny pot dealer in college. Much of it goes back to the cartels that fuel violence on our southern border. That money could really be used in the United states right now.

2 The majority of Americans want it legalized. Consenting adults want what they want. If America wants to get high now and then why should that be denied? It is no different than having a few beers after a long day of work.

3 it would create jobs, revenue, further medical research, and an abundance of benefits that this country needs right now.

4 everything in moderation. While you may drink sometimes I'm guessing you don't get wasted every day. The same obviously goes for pot smoking.

While I'm not naive enough to think it is completely harmless and without consequence, the benefits outweigh those consequences.

    WTF are you crying about.

I choose to roll my eyes at the idea that it's some noble venture.

Some of my posts are sarcasm which is hard to portray if you don't know the person. I think it should be legal, but not in the way they want to do it now. They should let anyone grow it and make a business vice just a couple of individuals who will then have a monopoly. Have government guidelines on the pot business, make the business qualify for a license and go for it. Also they need to provide security for the pot growers/sellers etc. The cartel will not be happy losing so much business I imagine.

  • The best argument for it in my opinion is by legalizing it you take money from the mexican drug cartels

  • Anyone arguing to keep it illegal needs to step back and apply their argument to alcohol and cigarettes. If it still applies, than they must be for making alcohol and cigarettes illegal too.
