Who is the best in the AFCN

The Browns Board
179 22 5.6k
  • League-wide redraft; Rodgers goes #1 overall, followed Watt and a bunch of others. Where does Brown go? First receiver off the board? Before all of Johnson, Bryant, Beckham and the rest? Not impossible, but I wouldn't put him at number one. If you put Johnson on the same team instead of Brown, with a legit elite QB like Big Ben, he's going off big time.

  • fuck brown. fuck ben. fuck the steelers and anyone that likes them.

    period.

But really, AB is not the best. I would take him over Green though I think. Seems to be more complete

But you didn't say who you'd take over AB.

If I could put one receiver on the Browns it would be Megatron. In a couple years that would probably change to Mike Evans. We have enough 5-9 guys, we need a big fast receiver.
  • @vagitron said:

No he wasn't. Josh Gordon was good, Josh Gordon was top ten but Josh Gordon doesn't run his routes as well, nor is he anywhere close to as versatile. Beyond that not being able to stay on the field because you're a fucking moron counts in the evaluation. He's a good receiver but he had a SHIT load of garbage time yardage. Brown is almost unstoppable.

Brown is not unstoppable ya moron...Hes not very big...only 5'10... I wouldnt call that unstoppable size.. Josh is a better route runner than you give him credit for.. Hes not football stupid, He's just "Life' stupid. He's not the greatest route runner, but he's not the worst. And what garbage time dufus.. He was on a shit team and still lead the league and didnt play a full season.,,, go back to making yogurt cuz you sure hell dont know jack about football.. Re-Tard!.

The irony in that statement is that you called him a moron.

To begin with, Vag said "almost" unstoppable.

"Unstoppable" is a label oft used to describe a player performing at a consistently high level...the word is not to be taken literally.

So you'd take Meg over AB. OK, that's fair.

A fan poll chose AB as the best receiver in football..musta been only Steeler fans that voted.

Yea, I don't think it is quite so clear. I have the Steelers having the top dog in only like 3-4 spots:

    QB with BR

    RB with Bell

    Timmons at LB

Brown as one of top 2 WRs. I would still put AJ Green as the top WR in the division.....but since we get to put 2 WRs int he starting lineup, Brown gets a spot.

But Gilbert: no way. (I think he is at best 3rd)

Heath Miller: 5 years ago, sure. Not now

Shazier is completely unproven. Maybe in a year or two he can be elevated....but not yet.

Tuitt....no. Competent....but not any better than the other NTs.

Are you watching the Bengals Bucs game? After listening to an entire segment during the game after an interception going through Green's hands about how Dalton has 27 int's throwing to Green and the point being made that many of them are Green's fault, I think it's more than clear who the better receiver is. They just showed 3 or 4 examples of Green not finishing routes or just plain letting the ball go through his hands for interceptions. Hosestly I'd never heard that stat before but Gruden just talked for several minutes about it. AB is better and it's clear.

If you asked which one the Browns would want if they were both FAs, I would take Green. That is no knock on Brown. Despite a couple of gaffs I still think Green is better overall.

Well, he is a very good one.....but I don't know about best in the league. Again, that is just you blowing fairy dust up your own butt again.

Though I will say that at least here you have a basic argument....which you usually don't have. Usually is just the fairy dust.

Josh Gordon was better.....in just about every way you measure a WR.....except, of course being reliable.

Let's put it this way....Gordon had Weeden, Jason Campbell, and Brian Hoyer throwing to him and set all kinds of records.

Imagine what he could have done if he had a BR or the like.

Give Brown Weeden/Campbell/Hoyer to pitch to him....and he looks like a middle infielder, not a cleanup hitter.

So? A hyphen avoids the Retard automatic adjust. Nice loophole you found there Nickers.

OK, Maybe not a hundred times.....but a few anyway.

  • Julio Jones is my best WR in the NFL. Remember that time the Browns traded his rights for Phil Taylor, Massaquoi or Little I forget which one, and a ham sandwich? Talk about worst draft trades ever. Antonio Brown and him are my 1/2

No way. He may not be the best receiver on his team. Isn't Roddy White still playing for them?

But they're just pissing matches. No one actually comes with any fact. For example, when discussing AB's "unstoppability," no Steelers fan here was smart enough to mention the fact that he hasn't had less than 5 catches AND 50 yards in like 3 seasons. Yeah, I'd say unstoppable is a good description.

AJ Green gets stopped by Joe Haden at least once a year like kryptonite. Brown doesn't by anyone.

Just going off stats alone you are incorrect. Production over the last two seasons has one received firmly at the top and its Brown. He's also incredibly consistent. Brown is the best and there isn't much of an argument against that position. There hasn't been a team that has stopped him over the last two seasons.
