  • Based on McCowns game last week vs Johnny there was a chance for JFF to push for the job. I believe at a minimum they would have gave him a full quarter with the ones in the TB game. This "little" elbow issue is bigger than some of you think.

Yeah, nothing to worry about, just can't throw a football for three weeks.

We are one thumb against the helmet, one center stepping on an ankle after the snap, one non contact knee injury by McCown, to having to start a QB who is basically a rookie and can't throw a football during the week without his elbow falling off....... or even better yet, having to start Thaddeus Lewis.

    See now?

We get either Kyle Orton or Jake Locker to come out of retirement?

  • Well, McCown is the starter anyways. I'm sure JFF will be ready and able by opening day.

Likely ready, but less able than if he'd played in the last two pre-season games...

Nope. He is second string. No one here likes him much anyways. So what is the big deal again?

Apparently reading comprehension is not your strong suit!

  • If we can still compare to Baseball. This is exactly what happen to the Bad News Bears when Amanda went down to "Them Damn Yankee's" Einstein and Engle Bert blew it. Buttermaker is now coaching at USC. And damn we need Tanner at QB, sorry Aggies..

  • Here's what I think.

The Broncos have the following 4 qbs in camp:

    OFFENSE

NO NAME POS AGE HT WT EXP COLLEGE

    2 Zac Dysert QB 25 6-3 221 2 Miami (OH)

    18 Peyton Manning QB 39 6-5 230 18 Tennessee

    17 Brock Osweiler QB 24 6-8 240 4 Arizona State

    3 Trevor Siemian QB 23 6-3 220 R Northwestern

They are really impressed with Siemian, a rookie. Fat chance they put

him on the practice squad? Maybe I'd take a serious look at bringing him to the

Browns. They had him in for a look before the draft, but he is a developmental

    young qb, they say.

And, if they keep Siemian, with Osweiler coming into his own at #2 qb...

if they release Zac Dysert... I'd nab him. He broke Rothlicksboogerrapist records

    at Miami.

  • Could have used Jason campbell as a back up. J/K

  • Pat Devlin was signed by the Browns on Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

    Aug 27 2015, 3:29 PMRotowire

Devlin was signed by the Browns on Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

    Analysis:

Devlin is a four-year veteran, but is highly unlikely to stick with the organization much longer after Saturday's preseason contest. The Browns are likely preparing for the absence of Johnny Manziel (elbow) in that game, so Devlin and Thaddeus Lewis will be called to man the offense after starter Josh McCown's day is done.

  • How does a tender elbowed QB ever hope to survive the reps an NFL starter takes week in and week out?

We start by sending him encouraging messages on Twitter. Raise his spirits.

I love how personally you take an opinion. Like an 8 year old girl. Hilarious. Have you complained about this to your wife and kids too?

Well, if he is as bad as you think he is what difference does it make if he is ready or not? That is my point.

  • The Browns made the decision to improve their defense to being one of the elites in the NFL. For them to be successful that will have to happen. So far Gilbert has been a big disappointment. I took him at his word last season that this year would be different. Maybe he can still turn it around but thus far it is just more of the same with him. I was just starting to get guardedly optimistic about Manziel but now it seems he is injury prone to add to his other issues.

I think our defense will come through for us this year and for us to win low scoring games will be key. If the Browns can get their running game going I think it will give Mccown a chance to do what Hoyer did with the team last year when at one point of the season we were at 6-3 when we had a decent running game until Mack got hurt.

Nothing flashy about the Browns but they have more talent this year than last season and Pettine will have them playing solid football.
