  • Warpo - come on - we have fun on this board. Enough with the hostility -

There's some great humor around here. Having poutsies and indignantcies takes away from that.

    It's a fun board - chill, eh?

  • Being that I have terrible tennis elbow in my right arm I do worry for manziel because I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the condition is both real and can be excruciatingly painful. My right elbow is actually deformed by it to the point where I can't fully straighten that arm. And the worst part is that there's no real rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes it will feel fine then you move it a certain way and it feels like there's a jagged piece of broken glass in there. Sometimes it's just sore from the rip and I have to baby it all day . Now admittedly I don't have free access to medical staff like he does but this is a problem that doesn't go away on its own. Mine has been ongoing for at least 15 years.

  • I had tendonitis in my right wrist/thumb. Couldn't fasten a seat belt, floss, brush teeth, etc. Very painful. VA gave me a ultrasound guided steroid shot and now it is just about 100 percent. He is young so I don't foresee any big problems with it. 30 years in the future no doubt all athletes will have problems.

Stop playing tennis. That'll be 5 cents please for the consultation fee. 😛

For the record I got the same thing from racquetball about 30 years ago and switched to left handed for about 6 months until I wised up and had a cortisone shot and switched to the lightest weight racquet I could find. No problems with it since then.

Some times I like to challenge people to left handed racquetball when they are whipping my butt right handed. Of course I never let them know I had 6 months of practice more than they did that way. 😛

  • The problem actually is now that I have a trapped tendon that needs to be surgically corrected

  • Per a report I heard this morning: Johnny Football may not be on the 53 man roster starting day....he would be placed on one or another injury list.

What say you all about that?

PUP list? That would mean he's out the first 6 weeks... I wouldn't care and hopefully that doesn't matter because we don't need to see our backup QB that early in the season...

  • Doesn't that mean a minimum of 6 weeks without being able to practice with the team?

"Then there's the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List. If by the end of the preseason a player isn't medically cleared yet, he can be transferred to the Reserve/PUP, which prevents that player from playing and practicing during the first six weeks of the season -- however that player doesn't count against the 53-man roster. If the player isn't activated after the sixth week, the team has a three-week window to make a decision."

Unless of course our starting QB is hurt......and we damn near lost him a couple of times in this last game when he was hammered.

So, yea, we would be in a world of hurt......JFF out on the PUP....McCown down with injury.....that leaves Thad Lewis and Pat Devlin

    Oy vey.

High draft pick here we come!

Why would this disallow him from practicing. The point of being on that list would be to A. recover from one's injury and B. get back into shape to play football again.......you must practice in order to do that....no?

Not if the OL, RBs....who I still think will be good.....and defense have anything to say about it. (but it doesn't help)

But the rules that I read say if you are on that list you cannot play OR practice for 6 weeks.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physically_unable_to_perform

  • If his elbows hurt enough to warrant PUP consideration, he wouldn't be practicing anyway... That's the shortest reserve list there is. They'll have to have a positive report by Saturday or that's whats going to happen... Or, they keep him on the 53 and stash Duke or Desir on the PUP...

I understand that is the rule.....my question is.....why no practice? I could understand no practice for 3-4 weeks.....but after that a player has to try to get in condition to play and be reactivated.

    Nonsensical, no?

Total nonsense. But the owners and players associations agreed to it unfortunately.

If JM can't practice from now thru the first 6 games then it's another lost season. I hope they just decide to keep him on the 53 and not take that chance.

I'm fine with it. Thad Lewis is a better NFL QB at this point in their respective careers.

Ergo, see my trade proposal thread!

Not surprised at all if it happens. His bow bow is no doubt worse than they're admitting.

  • What say you all about that? Gip
