Exactly. I have been a Crabtree advocate since long before Stallworth's issues came up.

    HUH?

Look, I love the guy and wish him all the best, but to think he'll continue his career at any serviceable level is wishful thinking.

JJ has had 50 knee surgeries and is 40 years old. He is/was not the type or caliber of player anymore to have any meaningful effect on our draft strategy.

He's actually only 34 ( 🙄 )which, I admit is old, but he is still good enough to continue playing. Hell, Randy Moss is 32! Oh, we better fire his wrinkly, senile behind before he dies of old age right there on the feild!

Joe was healthy enough physically to continue playing and even publicly stated that he was more than ready to come back. Besides... do you really think we can afford to look for ANOTHER WR now that Stallworth is likely out of the picture?

So did LCB and where is he playing now?

3 seasons until our new head coach, let's hope they get it right this time.

Im not sold on crabtree's durability at all i like maclin better overall but am not sold on his durability either..but hubbard has as much potential as either and is durable and he is already ours if mangini can somehow teach the kid a disciplined approach and how to use his hands..😉

The stallworth tragedy will likely throw a big monkey wrench in the mankok rebuilding plan no matter the outcome..possibly having to take a WR at #5 is not such a bad thing either crabknee or mactank would show BE to the slot 2 by the end of preseason and if old mother hubbard grew some hands it wouldnt be impossible to see BE competing for the slot 3 spot where he belongs..

We have been rebuilding since 1964, Why stop now? GO BROWNS!

the one thing about the nfl draft is that every year there are a couple of no 1 wide receivers. there is no rush to get crabtree because there will just be another wr in next year's draft. we need defense now. we can address the wr's when braylon leaves.

So JJ, K2, and now most likely stallworth are all out of the mix for 2009-2010 doesn't it almost have to make sense for michael crabtree at #5 now? If braylon performs as poorly as he did last year which is most likely since he seems to be in the top of the league in drops every season can we we really afford to go through an entire season with sanders, steptoe, braylon, and hubbard? I'm not exactly saying we should take him or that he's a lock at #5 but without some kind of reliable top receiver in our corps it makes taking a linebacker seem a little less significant. i really don't think we have much of a chance for Holt (i think he's probably looking more for a team that has better playoff potential than money). what's your thoughts?

            BUST

i'd take BPA and trade before i'd even consider Michael Crabtree.

            maybe at #36.

you must have been paying much attention the past 2 months, but he will either be traded or he will leave after next season. there is no way he signs back with us after this upcoming year.

step away from the board from time to time friend. it's good for perspective. 🙂

last time JJ played he was 3rd in the NFL on 3rd downs. he was easily the Brown's best blocking WR, K2 included, and drew penalties at will w/ hands of glue that would rival Fitzgerald.

no love for the subtle nuances? Crabtree is barely a sexy pick and would be lucky to be on Joe's level of intangibles by year 4.

Yeah while I'm at why don't I pop in some game tape from Jamal's 2000 yd season too.

Or why not some of Jim Browns old stuff....

The past is the past, and we go on what Jamal showed us the last time he strapped em' on. and that was absolutely nothing...

apparently AFCN 1,000 yards seasons grow on trees in Browns Board fantasy land.

i'd venture to say mangini would disagree w/ you.

anything personal against Jamal or something?

he's not listed on the roster on the official site. i'd like to hope he's still kicking it around CLE.

they could use a solid journeyman like him.

I loved the guy after the 07 campaign, but after last year it's time to send him to pasture.

He'll be a FA after this season and you could be certain he won't resign with a team that has fans that doesn't appreciate him. Does Plaxco's history look very simular to Edwards. WE aren't going to the super bowl this year so what good does Edwards hanging around this year being a distraction do for the team.

Get what you can get for him and rebuild this team through the draft. Plenty of WRs in the draft with a better attitude and can catch.

that story was overblown. we need to let it die and quit rehashing it....unless that's your agenda.

again, one man gathers what another man spills. i'm not giving up on him--he has the ability to make catches less than 5 people in the entire league can make. his '08 drops are redeemable.

He'll be a FA after this season and you could be certain he won't resign with a team that has fans that doesn't appreciate him.

that story was overblown. we need to let it die and quit rehashing it....unless that's your agenda.

i certainly can't be certain, how can you?

Does Plaxco's history look very simular to Edwards.

                                    if that's a question-NO. advance 100 isn't in Plax's resy bro.

WE aren't going to the super bowl this year so what good does Edwards hanging around this year being a distraction do for the team?

you sound like you have an axe to grind. you wouldn't happen to be an Ohio State fan now would you?

Get what you can get for him and rebuild this team through the draft. Plenty of WRs in the draft with a better attitude and can catch.

again, one man gathers what another man spills. i'm not giving up on him--he has the ability to make catches less than 5 people in the entire league can make. his '08 drops are redeemable.

Edwards is a great talent and I don't care what team he played for in college. Saying I have an ax to grind because I like Ohio State is beyond stupid...............................I'm a Browns fan and like Brown's players.

I don't like underachiever players who think they are owed something. I mention Plax because the situation with Edwards is very simular to what was going on with Plax in Pittsburgh. He felt underappreciated and wanted to be the face of the team. He bolted on them just like Edwards will on us.

He has dropped passes at every level all his life. He can be a super star but will alwys be close to the top of the league in drops, every year. He does make great catches and is a great athlete. But, my whole point is he will bolt after this year. One reason is the new offense will not feature him. Second reason is he is not a team player. Third reason is because he can.

i read the board off and on from time to time and although i have read you bash Edwards before i did not know you were a fan of the OS until this very moment. i didn't say you have an axe to grind because you are a fan, but because you are grinding axes IMO--i calls em like i sees em. but for the record sorry for wrongfully accusing you if in fact i am wrong about it.

what gives you the impression Edwards feels he's owed something? when did he say he wanted to be the face of the team? wow Ytown you seem to be generalizing quite a bit about people donchathink? the only reason i could see him "bolting from CLE" is if he heard people like you saying things like that.

trying to make a dream a reality? and i'm not saying that because i found out you like the OS.

how is he not a team player?

i'll admit he lacks that "fire" that ignites those around him, but ef em--these are the pros. let them motivate themselves. what else?

no drugs good peeps elite athlete. drops and toughness questionable. i still like our chances. 🙂
