  • So, since he has shown absolutely nothing, I'm assuming that all this wailing and gnashing of teeth is Buckeye inspired homerism?

Damn, you used the wailing and gnashing of teeth line. I had it cued up, but waited to long.

  • Third string quarterback but for a crisis of biblical proportions should never see the field. And he is number 4, at least hopefully.

I never played very much football but I've been singing for well over 50 years. If somebody told me to go back and get behind the drums I would bet dollars to dog turds that I'd suck and I have not seen this guy catch a pass in the National Football League yet.

I like Pryor's upside! I've also never seen Housler catch a pass in MY NFL yet! Sometimes the

Browns make no sense, but I gotta have FAITH GO BROWNS

  • No one wanted him, we took him and cut him, cry away pussies.

Except catching a ball is infinitely easier than playing drums.

Playing drums is pretty easy actually. If you have any sense of rhythm, it takes about 15 minutes to get the basics. Haven't you ever heard AC/DC?

  • Regardless of if Pryor deserved to get cut or not, Turbin can't even play for a couple weeks and there are still 4 TE's on the roster. Doesn't make sense.

This doesn't feel like a scenario Ray mapped out prior to Sunday...

Agree... puzzling development. With high ankle sprain could even be longer...

The Seahawks cut Turbin... Is Turbin any good?

    Sorta...

I'm remembering a rugged, scat back type.

4.0 rushing average in his three seasons in SEA. Can catch... high reception to target ratio.

Fast and quick coming out of college, but that's 3 years ago.

  • Hell, looking at that list, you could make a case for Denard at 10.

I would have liked to see us keep Pryor. I know roster spots are hard to come by, but that development process could have created a very, very good WR.

Also, I liked him on the Browns in Madden...

  • On Pryor...

It wasn't like a fan base built him to mythic proportions... I've seen a fan base do that... recently... and it looks different.

This time the staff pretty much took care of the build-up. That's what makes the cut perplexing.

  • If Farmer hadn't mapped it out, Tour, then what's your theory?

  • None really...

Strikes me as even less of a free-wheelin' deal by a substitute GM. And can't imagine Ray was breaking his suspension.

Probably should have said, "If Farmer did map it out, then I'm very impressed... with the foresight, if not the player."

  • According to the depth chart TP was #53 ... 4th string with no special teams experience.

We replaced him with a vet RB.

We had a rookie and a soph at RB.

    Let's all freak out.

    Z

  • There are hundreds of freak athletes that don't make it in the NFL. He's just another.

  • 3 pages already for a WR who has never caught a pass in the NFL?

I'm watching football, have it it! 😛

Well Turbin was cut Saturday and the suspension didn't start until Monday right? Don't be TOO impressed.
  • Well, Turbin > Montee Ball, so.. that's progress in some way. But he's out for a long time with a high ankle sprain, so.. what in the name of 4 TE's is going on here?

  • No one wanted him, we took him and cut him, cry away pussies.

As per usual your post is 99% bs 1% fact. Both the Pats and Cowboys put in waiver claims when the kitty cats released Pryor.
  • What Pryor isn't going to be an awesome WR that will strengthen an already awesome WR corps, schucks

  • As I said on an earlier thread, I was worried about only two running backs (excluding the FB) on a team which wants to run to set up the pass. This move makes a lot of sense to me since I was upset they did not take Christine Michael who played just a hair behind Turbin. So even though he starts the season with an injury, I'm glad they got a real quality runner. I guess they want all those TE's for the same reason, run first offense with lots of blockers. But I sure like Pryor's upside.

I think he's talking about here in Cleveland where it matters.

Maybe the Patriots and the Cowgirls would have thought he was good enough to make the 53 man cut. Maybe not.

  • Jesus you people sometimes. I'm as big of an OSU as the most of you here but come on now. Pryor is big, tall and strong sure but so was Greg Little. He didn't show anything that merited him being on the team and we needed a roster spot. Perhaps Housler should have gotten the boot, but it's not like we're letting go of Randy Moss here. We let go a guy who failed at a position already and has been cut three times.

  • Turbin Stats

    Career
    Yards- 928
    Att -231
    Avg- 4.0 yards a carry
    Rec - 43

Almost 1000 yards in two years playing behind the best running back in the league, AND pulling down passes. Looks like a great waiver pick up to me for a team that needs running backs even if he is on the shelf for a few weeks.

Here is an article about his combine numbers the year he was drafted. Strong guy.
