  • And yet in the last day you are on the negative bender.

The pic you posted had nothing to do with the discussion. "When a guy tomahawk chops the ball you'd have to be superman to hold onto it."

*Ag posts pic of Johnny in superman pose and says "but he is"* (CLEARLY joking)

Then you: uh actually no he's not!!! He's human!!!!!

The "attack," such as it was, actually helped make my point. Rather than the tack of most, which is to just inject a lot of curse words to convey more confidence in what they're saying.

    Negative bender?...

Only problem with all that 'discussion" you posted above is that its all wrong.....I actually quoted ag when I posted the pic...."it is quoted".....so how you got the whole discussion wrong is beyond me....

But here it is a second time......he posted a funny....I posted a funny.....and you took it wrong....

Last year on the TD run he could have been windmilled, but unlike Josh he had his head on swivel and avoided it. Josh just tried to do a JF. I didn't say he accomplished it. LOL! 😆

Look, got no issue with you wargo except that you seem to have one with me and seem to like creating lil arguments over nothing.....take off the Johnny fan glasses and you will see Im just a die hard Browns fan who supports our players.....including your boy.....rarely am I a hater or on a negative bender.....if it was lately, then I was only bent about the whining and crying after game one.....

If you dont like my posts....please put me on ignore from here on....and if you cant handle me posting a pic of Johnny, then that says it all.....

  • Read the post in reply to that one.

I've got no issue with you. One of my favorite posters actually. Just thought the pic was a massive wet blanket.

  • LOL! It was a total joke and that pic you had was that stupid shanny intentional run for the QB that wasn't even smart enough to be a bootleg or even an option play. Shanny sucked. He got RG III wrecked and damn near did the same for JM.

  • Wet blankets go great with oversensitivity...

  • What you posted was weak indeed. Anyone does that about any of our other guys and you would rightfully be the one telling them to knock off the negativity. I would too. But with Johnny we must remind everyone why he sucks. Weak indeed.

    Agree.

Ha!....agreed....honestly, I think a whole page of whining about a pic is more of a wet blanket....but thats me I guess....

Someone posts something you dont like....let it slide....and "poof".....its over....(try it sometime)....

Ima start calling you Wargoes on and on

  • I'm not over sensitive. Like I said, I'd do the same about anyone else. Someone praises Tashaun Gipson only to have a pic of him on the training table with a broken whatever posted in response, I'd have reacted the same. But I guess you are confirming you are a wet blanket though.

Nope...just confirming its ok for AG to joke on McCown, but not for me to do the same with Johnny.....

Thats been the story since he came.....say something about Johnny, catch aggie wrath....

  • So it was a joke? You were trying to claim it was legitimate analysis of his scrambling durability.

The difference between those jokes is huge. What he posted is on the level of Tour laughing about Hawk thinking he could block an ILB last week.

Yes...you are.....Id note you are the only one who felt a need to worry about the pic....and you missed the light hearted point of it.....completely...

So...The only thing confirmed is that its ok for AG to joke on McCown...but I cant do the same in response?.....and If I do, then I have to face your Browns/Aggie fan wrath.....

But...as always....you'll never just see it for what it is....

  • I already responded to all these points in my previous post.

  • don't worry. the wheels on that jet will fall of sooner than later.

  • It's all going to play out within the next year so noneed to panic that our coaching staff isn't in any hurry on this 22 year old QB (who could still be playing out a senior year of eligibility when you think about it). Understanding that, only 2 years of college starting experience is another reason he isn't as immediately ready as some others.

The good news or silver lining here is our staff has to feel way more comfortable with this year's version of Manziel. He's already learning stuff from McCown that McCown isn't even learning from himself like SLIDING for instance. If anyone remembers the preseason where McCown was putting his throwing shoulder into a LBer downfield more than once - there's legit concern that a guy in his mid 30s might not ever break this bad habit. He's also learned that you HAVE to study and prepare at this level, which has been his biggest adjustment (outside of rehab). It's really good to see all that paying off on the field with teammates and team leaders like Joe Thomas rallying around it.

I think we're going in the right direction here folks. The first drive we had vrs the Jets shows me that McCown still has some good football worth tapping that Manziel can learn from watching. At A&M he learned from watching Tannehill during his red shirt season.

  • You still don't answer the hypothetical what if McCown plays well and stays healthy hypothetical, Flugs.

Also, every time you mention Johnny should still be in college I get a good ten minutes of depression.

Fair enough. It's like what you saw when Tannehill was a senior. You knew his time remaining there was ticking down while he gave you the best chance to win so it was easy for your 12th man to ride that out and have fun. That was also helpful to the learning curve of Manziel. Win-win.

This isn't any different, we want our starting QB playing well so we ride that out until it changes. We're all pretty aware of McCown's overall timeline considering Chicago pulled him out of retirement 2-3 years ago; so Pettine feels his experience should be invaluable to Manziel. I agree.

A front window showing the road ahead is always way bigger than a rear-view showing the road behind. Right now, we're staying on the road and sticking with the right path to get where we want to be. If we start looking like the Griswalds - then we'll see Manziel earlier than planned.

  • Good analogy to A&M and reminder of JM's "youth"... (sorry, war)

I'll add that in addition to any season trend, individual game situations, blow outs or getting blown out, can yield field time as well. Hoping for more games like the former, but rare is the season that doesn't produce at least one of the latter.

  • It isn't EVEN CLOSE. Carr & Bridgewater are light years away from Manziel. Both we could have taken.

The Raiders nailed a corner stone defensive player (Mack) and QB (Carr) in that draft. It could had been us.....

But NOOOOoooo...we are all about selling tickets and taking advice from street bums on who to draft.

  • Almost everybody here wanted Bortles or Manziel. Some Garrapolo.

90% of everybody was very critical of PoG's love for Derek Carr. Just goes to show most here wouldn't be very good GMs.

But, Manziel is too early to judge still. It's not like we can call him a bust yet.

agreed....there definitely was NOT a consensus #1 out of the top 4 or 5......people were all over the place and, obviously, no one knew which would rise and which would fail.....a complete crap shoot....

Personally, I was torn between picking Teddy and Bortles.....and was against drafting JFF or Carr.....so I feel like I was 50/50 on both sides.....Garrapolo was more of an intriguing curiosity, though I dont think many had him at the top....

And, yes, too early to make any long term judgements on any of them.....for me, it's three years before declaring anyone a player, a bust or a star.....

My prediction is there are no "stars" in this group.....a few will have solid careers, but none will be HOF type players....
