  • It doesnt sound like too big of a deal to me, except......Ive often wondered if Johnny is now in the NFL substance abuse program....

There are MANY ways to get into the program and they include college indiscretions and other incidents that do not include actual testing.....just the act of entering rehab is enough to trigger it......sooooooo......if he is, this could be a problem for him going forward...

I guess we will have to wait and see if the league responds......And if he's in the program, they will.......

  • I imagine Johnny could get any girl he wants...not sure why he picked that one.

He won't be any trouble with the league or browns, though they probably aren't happy.

He needs to go. I'd say he would be worth the trouble if he was on the field and contributing.

Well he's won every game he's started this season.

That makes him 1-2 as an NFL starter.

  • The guy posting about alcoholism is correct, it is a disease, that is medical fact.

Maybe a better comparison would have been depression than cancer, but to say its a choice to pick up a drink it ignorant, an ignorance you can only properly understand if you've been there yourself. He will know as well as I do, the first step to a successful recovery is to accept you are POWERLESS over alcohol, think of it more as an ongoing struggle/battle (a recovering alcoholic will still die an alcoholic) than a choice.

The only disagreement I have is that if he went to treatment for alcohol...why the hell is he drinking at all? No one I know (and I know quite a few) who are recovering alcoholics will not touch a drink because they know what will happen. As you said, they are powerless over it. Now, maybe he went to rehab for something else and this is really all a non-story since he wasn't drunk and he's got a batshit crazy girlfriend.

Just a distraction that this team doesn't need and I would ship him off to Dallas and get what we can from them. They're already on their 3rd QB this season and Sam Cassell isn't the answer either for them.

  • I think its time to move on from the John Football experiment. For the morons who say fuck Brown's fans for jumping on his ass for this? You are wrong.

Kids been outta rehab for what 2 months? and we have to wake up on a Saturday before the biggest game of the season with an article about this loser with the words DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and ALCOHOL in it? Talk about a momentum killer.

I was kinda hoping John would make it thru the whole season without even a blimp on the drama radar but I see that is just not the type of person he is. This kid is just exhausting, from his play to his preparation all the way to what he does in his free time the kid is just exhausting.

Actually the Austin Davis signing is starting to make much more sense now.

Matt...Sam....whatever...neither one of them is a good QB so what's the difference??

Vs McCown as a Browns starter?

  • I've never been of fan of Manziel, but I gotta take his side on this one.

You know damned well the cop(s) gave him a field sobriety test, which he passed.

He's only guilty of having psycho Sally as his GF.

    Time to ditch the bitch.

  • 1 + 3, lifetime 18 35. Josh McCown.

    Pretty even so far?

  • I think Espn Nailed it right on the fucking head for once......Browns are ENABLING

  • You guys are fucking Retarded.

Good post and in retrospect the comparison to cancer wasn't the best. The overall thought I wanted to convey was simply the disease piece of the equation.

I disagree. There should be some accountability by the person.

  • At least the statement reads like JM may have notified the FO of the incident.

"We were aware of the situation. It is a matter that we take seriously and have expressed our concerns to Johnny directly. Those conversations will remain private and we will refrain from further comment at this time." - Ray Farmer

  • Text of the Police report.

It cuts off as Crowley "field interview" begins so there is more somewhere, but is a lot more complete than the initial News5 report.

Includes a surprise "appearance" by a co-worker of JM, Mr. Paul Kruger...

Now, if he could keep his personal business as private as those conversations he keeps having with the FO......that would be great!

  • I find it hard to believe the average Joe pulled over in the same type scenario would not get a breathalyser test by the police.

  • Wow...I think we are missing something....if there is better evidence to show Johnny in a better light, the Browns would comment asap! No?

Alcoholics ....I was told & believe that "its a clown waiting to finish his act". In that, the only cure is in their control, unlike a disease.

I'm not saying being an addict isn't hard...hell, I smoke and my mother died of lung cancer too. But I have to say "that's it"!

    Go Browns!
