  • I gotta say that I am tired of losing in such dumb ways. There's no legit team in football that would look like we did in the OT period. Defense wasn't even getting lined up or off the field.

There's no other team in football that wouldn't have at least gotten a field goal attempt after intercepting at the opponents 39. It's just dumb, and there's no excuse for how dumb it was.

I'm tired of going to games in our home stadium and having opponent fans all around me . . . Then after cheering on our team to the point I can hardly talk and giving all those opponent fans an unenjoyable 2nd half, just as it seems I would be vindicated in my incessant cheering we find a new and really REALLY dumb way to fuck up at the end of the game. It's fucking demoralizing.

I've been to more home games than not since 99 and I gotta say this was probably the worst loss I've been to. I think it's because this game had the feeling that if we could just pull it off that maybe, just maybe, we were finally starting to hit that elusive corner . . . But it turned out to be business as usual . . . And another opportunity typically wasted.

  • I dont know why people always get all twisted up after games. as if you actually believe we'll win anyway.

Look at it like this. We are consistent. We always meet expectations. And we dont get all wrapped up in any of that up and down stuff. We are steady like a rock.

And, still, after 20 years of this everyone gets all weird and acts like wtf happened here?

we need stabilithy with a proven guy, or a guy that at least shows improvement and doesnt make stupid azz mistakes like Pettine does week in and week out. Going for 2 there cost us the game, and we can probably go back to every loss and point out a crucial decision he made that led to losing the game, too.

Ur not 100% wrong soju but that ship has sailed. That 'proven guy" isn't coming here. Which is why we're stuck with Pettine for years. Marvin Lewis wasn't proven either when he started with the Bengals.

    And he still isn't proven..

  • .500 at the 1/3 of the season mark. we all knew this schedule was going to be alot tougher than last's. 3 teams that we should have beat and lost 2 by a last second score.

blow this up? what are you noodles?

come off your meth anger anger and think about what really happened....

flpos calls on both game winning (coulda)drives sucked and mack gave up sacks like it was his job at the soy bean factory.

easily be 4 and 2 right now. but that means nothing to the whoa is me pessimists.

let's see....got the same record as the 2013 SB champs that everyone had their money on this year. played better against a team that barely lost to the packers.

excuse me, is this season over yet?

  • great... except for the math... we're .333

Kids... let this be a lesson. Don't drink and divide.

The funniest thing is how the seat-belt chime keeps going off and he doesn't even acknowledge it. I'll bet he's been driving around for, like, 10 years with the seat belt chime going off every 30 seconds.

I know, right! That's my favorite part too!

I'd love to be one of his neighbors, just watching him cruise around the neighborhood.

Come on, one of us has to have an idea who this cat is. Can we get some 3rd party video on him?

  • I can't stand all the stupid cursing on this board, but for some reason DieHard cracks me up. I think people take him too seriously.

And I'm somewhat encouraged by the game today, but not overly enthused.

Give it another year or so...

  • Without a few star wr's ... defenses overload on the running game, and dare

McCown try to win the game on offense with little fast guys.

If Peyton didn't have his two big wr's.... he'd be toast.

The defense had the wr's to cope with, plus stopping the run.

Advantage goes to the Denver defense.

I'm proud of how tough the Browns played. I like the old saying "the only guy who makes no mistakes

    isn't trying to accomplish anything".

Denver is very fast on both sides of the ball. It's just dumb to bitch about no sacks on Peyton,

when he has wr's to throw to so quickly, so often. He got rid of the ball immediately, because

usually, he had wr's to throw to.

There are some around here who would be happier if the Browns got hammered, say, 42-3 ...

    they aren't really Browns fans.

The Browns left is all out there on the field, and it didn't work out, but it was close. I admire that effort.

But they are seriously lacking a Dwayne Bowe type, one with a love for the game - that lends itself

to often fighting a losing battle in the run game, especially when they keep running on first down so much.

the bitching contest is just stinkin up the board.

the team is really headed in the right direction, missing a few pieces.

I suppose that's progress Cal- at least we're not getting blown out anymore.

There's the problem Cal- Bowe was inactive again today. Time to cut our $9 million dead weight anchor.

the bitching contest is just stinkin up the board.

    It's just frustration.

the team is really headed in the right direction, missing a few pieces.

I hope so. I'm running out of patience.

FWIW Cal- I reserve the right to bitch about lousy pass blocking that almost got McCown killed. And this "fan" is going to drive 350 miles this coming weekend to St. Louis to watch the Browns play- and probably lose- to the Rams.

    @mark-o said:

So you're solution is to just bitch and moan. Got it. I would suggest you find a new team to follow. Maybe one of those undefeated teams so you won't have to be so miserable if the Browns lose.

Mark- I'd say thousands of Cleveland fans have taken your advice. Based on the number of Broncos fans I saw at the game today- I seriously doubt they all made the trip from Colorado. I'm fully expecting a front running Steeler invasion for the final home game.

  • McCown didn't do himself many favors. Played good again at times, against a really good defense, but he made too many critical errors and held the ball too long at times. He also blew the game, and Jim ONeil would be fired tomorrow if I was the head coach responsible for that fucking embarrassment they are calling a defense. As it stands, there is zero accountability for that shit show, and it needs to fucking stop.

Not at the end of the year. Tomorrow.

  • There's 4 unbeaten teams for starters. New England, Cincinnati, Green Bay, and Denver. Cysko

    *****************************************************************

LOL. What was I thinkin? Well, I reckon I was thinkin "who we have played"....

    I was tired......

The point is, we've only played one unbeaten team, and we came oh, so aggravatingly close to kicking their

ass on the scoreboard and winning the game. This team is finding itself. Sure, it's still a loss, but how many years

have we suffered through coaches that need to be fired, poor play, serious lack of talent, locker room cancers,

and few FA's worth their salt would even think about coming to the Browns?

All that has changed. Other players in the NFL see that the Browns are finally headed in the right direction.

there isn't one Browns fan that is NOT sick of losing. the coaches do NOT NEED TO BE FIRED.

What the hell? You start building a terrific home, working all the way up to the roof, and it rains. Some of you

are saying "DAMN, THIS HOUSE LEAKS! LET'S TEAR THE WORTHLESS THING DOWN AND START ALL OVER AGAIN"

And the next time, the same thing happens. It rains before you get the roof finished, water leaks into the house, and

you say "BURN IT DOWN! START FROM SCRATCH ALL OVER AGAIN UNTIL IT STOPS LEAKING"...

So, there ya go. Now, the house wasn't built right in the past, ya. But it is now....it just isn't finished !

ALL OF US ARE PO'D WITH LOSING. But what makes more sense, bitch about getting a few more

final pieces to the roof...er....team... like most of us have a right to do..... or... be lunatics about screaming

that we need to tear the house all the way down to the basement floor, tear up the basement floor, because

    the house is still leaking?

A few of you wild asses need to simmer down and at least bitch about losing legitimately.

  • Frustrating loss for sure but didn't we take Denver into overtime? How many people thought we would win going into the game? Didn't we exceed expectations? I'm not saying we played a great game but this team is a scrappy team and has stayed in all these games this season until late in the fourth quarter or taking teams into overtime.

  • I get tired of this "just find a new team" bullshit. The browns are my team always have been always will be. But I'm not satisfied with them being a doormat for twenty years and twenty to come. I feel like some of you pride yourselves on how much you love bad football. I want to love good football. Good browns football.

Never thought I'd say this but I'm definitely on your side on this one. No one with this attitude is not a fan of the Browns so stop saying that garbage. I don't think it's unfair criticism to say it's ridiculous to keep being happy with "moral victories", "played well against a good team" and "improvement". I think in the past 10 years I've heard those phrases used 50+ to describe the Browns. So why isn't there any of that on the field? These types of speeches are what high school football coaches say to 16 year old kids, not grown ass men getting paid millions of dollars.

We all get it-we have zero control of that product on the field and at the end of the day we are just fans. But Jesus Christ people stop accepting this at face value because it just isn't true. The conversation needs to focus on why this isn't happening..is it coaching, no franchise QB, an ancient curse that we need to sacrifice goats for to remove? I'm just tired of this narrative cause I'm 25 and I feel like I'm going to hear about "moral victories" until I'm dead.

  • i'm glad i wasn't on here yesterday cuz i would have lit you all up.

    go fuck yourselves.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

now that's funny. you're still young enough to pick another team and nobody would know. try doing it for over 40 years. belly up or back the fuck up out the door.

Well, if you had seen me and my Wife watching the game, you'd see her giving me the "good night,

you're going to make yourself bald that way" look. LOL.

Real fans are bitching about the losing, I sure do. But right out of the gate, "fans", in quotes, refers to the

analogy I just posted - giving up on the Browns, and saying it all has to be destroyed, and rebuilt

like a house with the roof not quite finished.

It's just how I see it. It's been miserable/pitiful/seriously aggravating for years, with a team mishmoshed with players

who don't care, teams that can't get all on board with the inept coaches.... lopsided, humiliating defeats...

These coaches are not inept, they are just learning. It takes time. The Browns are really getting there. So, sure,

all of us are po'd bigtime, about not having gotten there yet. Peyton made some pitiful mistakes, and he has bigger,

solid targets. Peyton had Demaryius sp? Thomas and Owen McDaniels, both 6'3". And he also had Sanders,

the speedster that used to be with the Steelers, though he isn't 6'. And Peyton has been throwing INT's, too.

And Demaryius was a first round, pro bowl draft pick on the Broncs.

The only big target McCown has, is Barnidge, and they did their best to double cover him and take him out of the game.

I bitch about predominantly running on first down, since teams know they need to stop the run because

McCown doesn't have receivers that scare anybody - except for Barnidge, and maybe little ole Travis.

The draft/FA needs used to be a mile long. It isn't now. They have the coaching staff, the right locker room,

and most of the players they need. All these years, (note - I'm retired already...), and it's been necessary

to keep rebuilding the house from scratch. Now, it's nearly properly built to last, and all we need is

for the Browns to put the roof on, and we're ready for the superbowl.

Look at the miserable ratbirds. They just lost to the niners, who are now 2 and 4. They lost by 5 points, 25-20.

Ya think their coaching staff all of a sudden got stupid? nah. Some of the pieces aren't there now.

Look at all the talent the goofy redheaded kid in Cincy has around him.

The Browns narrowly lost to an unbeaten Denver team. Things are lookin up in a huge way.

Yes, I bitch about running nearly most of the time on first down, I didn't think they should have gone

for two, Peyton's INT's made me happy, and McCown's INT's peezed me off.

The Browns just need that pro-bowl type, blue chippie wr. No more dumb pothead guys, no more prima donnas

that don't really care. It's just the pitiful bitching that we should dismantle the house all the way to the point

of re-mortoring the basement walls that aggravates me and stinks up this forum. That's all I'm sayin.

  • We are getting there. Pettine and Farmer have not been here since 99 and should not be blamed for all the bad things that have happened prior to coming here. Not having a franchise qb is one of the reasons for sure but also too much turnover of head coaches and GM's have been equally as destructive.
