  • The report I read stated he was pulled over by police:

AVON, Ohio - Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, was pulled over by Avon police after police said a domestic argument got out of hand on Interstate 90 westbound earlier in the week.

Police said alcohol was involved. The argument took place between Manziel and his Texas Christian University girlfriend Colleen Elizabeth Crowley.

According to a four-page police report obtained exclusively by newsnet5.com, both were drinking but were not charged.

According to the report, a witness called police after seeing Manziel's white Nissan use the shoulder of the road to pass her at a high speed. The witness told police the couple was arguing and Crowley attempted to exit the vehicle while they were on the road.

Minutes later, police stopped Manziel's car on Nagle Road where he said both he and Crowley had been drinking in downtown Cleveland earlier that day.

  • I will take the police report over the news report as well. With the police report we have Manziel reported to have been driving reckless and at a high rate of speed. Manziel had a slight odor of alcohol and admitted drinking earlier. I believe the average citizen on a report of driving reckless and a high rate of speed combined with a smell of alcohol on their person and admitting to having a couple of drinks earlier would get a breathalyser test. Didn't Manziel just complete rehab recently?

Again Manziel was not pulled over for nothing. He was pulled over on a report of driving at a high rate of speed and driving reckless.

He wasnt even pulled over by the police. He was on the side of the road fighting with his drunk ass girlfriend, looking for his wallet and making a scene when the police showed up.

Not to mention that in his police report the officer on the scene said that JM exhibited no signs of being intoxicated. So while he may have failed the nose test, he passed the eye test.

The actual police report reads differently...

the moron learned absolutely nothing in rehab if indeed he had a couple drinks....

I don't think there's any question he had a couple of drinks since he said so himself in the report.

  • You can't win consistently in the NFL without a running game. Teams who run for over 100 yards are winning. Bengals - Bernard & Hill

Atlanta - Freeman, Patriots- Blount & Lewis, Greenbay has Lacy & Starks who ran for 112 yards Sunday.

We have to find a running back and stick with him. The teams using running back by committee are losing. Browns, San Diego, Jaguars, etc

Pettine says we are a running team. No we are not and that is the problem. We abandon the run and McCown is forced to throw 40-50 times a game. He's not Tom Brady. And Brady, Rodgers are throwing less than McCown.

Is it a coincidence that Cleveland has gone through running backs such as Lewis, Rainey West, Tate, and then let them go? Only to realize what they have isn't good enough. Crowell isn't following his blockers and Duke Jr hasn't been utilized enough to evaluate.

How many yards from line of scrimmage are Browns averaging per game? Not nearly enough to wear down a defense. How do you keep the opposing defense honest without a stud running back? And a good back up!

  • Bill Cowher says Browns should cut Johnny Manziel; Mike Pettine refuses to address incident right after loss to Broncos

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Super-Bowl winning coach and CBS analyst Bill Cowher said Sunday he'd cut Johnny Manziel in the wake of his domestic incident and coach Mike Pettine refused to address it right after the crushing 26-23 overtime loss to the Broncos.

"I've watched Johnny Manziel now for a year and a half and I think he's a backup quarterback at best. And he's a distraction off the field," Cowher said on The NFL Today. "And listen, I believe in second chances but after the second chance, to me there's a zero-tolerance policy. He can't put himself into the position he put himself into.

"I would ask for his release and I would do it for this reason: in that locker room players want accountability ... and that's the message that needs to be sent right here, that you're accountable for your actions both on the field and off the field."

    Oh shit....

  • Unless Cowher becomes our HC, he can STFU as far as I am concerned.

  • I agree with Cowher totally.

  • You don't cut your 1st round QB over this, if it wasn't Johnny this would have been a non-story.

  • Unless Cowher becomes our HC, he can STFU as far as I am concerned.

  • And now the police dash cam video is out and the full police report.

Biggest revelation in the full report is JM is 6'1...

Dash cam audio is shitty at best. Lot of boo-hooing... by her, not JM. JM sounded calm. Officer helped JM look for his wallet.

  • On the NFL Network, they just did a quick segment on Pettine's "contentious press conference" today...... Pet seemed pretty irritated over the whole thing - the incident, Johnny, the perceived "lack of accountability" in the locker room, the persistent questions. Dude looked stressed in the 15 second clip they showed.

Manziel could face NFL discipline for domestic incident

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Johnny Manziel's roadside argument with his girlfriend could lead to punishment from the NFL.
Browns coach Mike Pettine said Monday that the league is investigating the high-profile backup quarterback's domestic dispute last week. Manziel was questioned by police in Avon, Ohio, after his girlfriend claimed he was physical with her when the two had a heated disagreement while driving on an Interstate highway.
Colleen Crowley can be heard telling police on a dash-cam video that Manziel was physical with her, saying he "he hit me a couple times." Manziel was not arrested and Crowley, who police said appeared intoxicated, did not press charges.
League spokesman Brian McCarthy said Manziel's situation will be reviewed.
"It is standard procedure to look into any incident that is a potential violation of our personal conduct policy," McCarthy said in an email.
Pettine did not have a timetable on the league's inquiry.
Following his rocky rookie seasaon, Manziel spent 70 days in a Pennsylvania rehab facility during the offseason for an unknown condition. It's not known if he is in the league's substance-abuse program. If he is and if he violated any conditions, Manziel could face additional fines or suspensions.
Pettine, who began his Monday news conference following an overtime loss to Denver addressing Manziel's situation, said the 22-year-old was active for Sunday's game because the team was satisfied with its investigation into the incident.
Manziel disputed the notion the team gave Manziel a free pass by having him available to play.
"We've dealt with it, it's not like we ignored it," Pettine said. "Until we had all the information from the police and when the league concludes their report we'll have a more total picture of what happened. But given the details that we had, we made our decision based on the details we had in hand."
In his second season with Cleveland, Pettine bristled at the idea that there is no accountability with his players for their actions.
"I'm not of the mind that all discipline has to be public," Pettine said. "If you think we're turning a cheek to it and ignoring it, you'd be dead wrong. I get the concern and I get the outcry and I know everything with him is magnified times a thousand.
"He's made a lot of strides and this is a process for him and I know it's something that is upsetting. It's upsetting for all of us."
Pettine would not say if the Browns have considered trading Manziel, a first-round draft pick in 2014.
On Monday, Avon Police released its dash-cam video and 9-1-1 emergency calls from the roadside incident, which happened a week ago when the Browns were off. Manziel admitted to police that he drank alcohol earlier in the day before his argument with Crowley.
On the video, Manziel explains to an officer what led to his dispute with Crowley. He said she flung his wallet out the window of his car and he and an officer can be seen looking for it along the roadside. Manziel and Crowley were allowed to leave the scene together.
Browns linebacker Karlos Dansby said Manziel has not become a distraction to the team and he sympathizes with him living in the spotlight.
"Right now he's just a prisoner of his success," Dansby said. "If you're going to be successful like you are and on level that you're on, any little thing and everything is scrutinized. You're up under a microscope, you gotta walk a different path."

I watched it as well....she's a fucking freak show...good lord, I'm guessing she can suck a tennis ball through a garden hose because otherwise she's worthless.

Manziel appeared pretty calm for a dude being questioned by police...again if it wasn't for him drinking, I would say this is a total non story. But for god's sake Johnny...dump the girl.

I dont think its a non story at all....In fact, Im thinking this may be the end of Johnny here in Cleveland.....

    @d-bone said:

Pettine's "contentious press conference" today...... Pet seemed pretty irritated over the whole thing ..... Dude looked stressed in the 15 second clip they showed.

Just a few weeks ago, Pat McManamon was saying "his info" already had the Browns at the "fed up" level. Honestly, I think Pet wishes he'd never even heard of Johnny, let alone having to be his coach. So, he endures yet another hi pressure pressy all about his Back Up QB. What coach wants to deal with this over and over and over and over. Which is what Pet has been doing.

Manziel could face NFL discipline for domestic incident ...

    .....and/or possible alcohol consumption.....ala Josh Gordon....."if" he's in the program(and I think he is)...

Following his rocky rookie seasaon, Manziel spent 70 days in a Pennsylvania rehab facility during the offseason for an unknown condition. It's not known if he is in the league's substance-abuse program. If he is and if he violated any conditions, Manziel could face additional fines or suspensions.
As above....I think the odds say he is already in the program and it was probably the reason he entered rehab to begin with. After all his statements of "I aint changing for nobody", he suddenly decided 70 days in a clinic was needed all on his own???....(cmon)...hahaha....I think someone decided for him or it was negotiated to prevent other action....
Pettine would not say if the Browns have considered trading Manziel, a first-round draft pick in 2014.
You can bet they have considered it and are, in fact, trying to find a suitor as we speak.....
Finally...FARMER, who has not spoken since his return, should be the one answering all the Johnny Distraction questions....Pettine should be coaching, not baby sitting or spinning PR on our loose cannon back up.....
