  • When I was young and naive I might have voted for weed. But it dumbs you down, makes you lazy and destroys brain cells. Just what the people of Ohio need; More dumbasses living off the government and mooching off tax payers.

As for Josh Gordon; How old will he be next year? Do you really think he's having an ephiny right now? He's,got a greenhouse full of marijuana growing while he watches reality TV all day eating Crispy Creams. Sure, he'll make a difference.

Of course, all the same things can be said about booze.....only its worth. (and I suspect that far, far more people....if any do at all....mooch off taxpayers because of booze than they do because of marijuana.)

    Anything to support that claim?

    10 people against legal weed?

    Why?

Because I have as much right to vote "no" as you have to vote "yes". That's all you need to know, that not all of us think the same, & that's actually okay.

Right, you can vote for whatever you want. I generally base my decisions on the evidence presented. I'm curious what reasoning you have to keep weed illegal?

And if we're making weed illegal, why not alcohol or cigarettes too?

  • Woodster, keep it in your pants boy 😉

  • I could care less if people smoke weed legally or illegally, but I don't like issue 3 because it basically says:

"These 10 rich people are allowed to create a monopoly and control every aspect of this particular market, from production to distribution to sales, without competition from anybody...... and by the way, you can smoke weed legally"

If you like are willing to give those people that much power and money, just so you can get high and not worry about a slap-on-the-wrist misdemeanor... then you're ____________ (insert favorite synonym for 'crazy'). Issue 2 is a great law that prevents people from ever being able to "write into law" a monopoly on any market. Once issue 2 passes, issue 3 will basically become null-and-void anyway...

If the people actually put an amendment into the constitution that ONLY says "marijuana legalization - for age appropriate (I think 25 and older) people, with strict restrictions about driving while high / smoking in a public place / accepting public assistance while using / accepting unemployment while using / accepting Medicaid while using / etc..." Then I will gladly vote for the hard-working American to be able to come home and light up if that's what they want...

Let's put it this way.....when they legalized casino gambling they basically did the same thing.....except that there were even fewer people to rake in the dough. So this would not be any different.

And, by the way, they could have vastly opened up casinos in this state.....as they did in at least one state (besides Nevada)....Montana. When I went there last year, every restaurant, truck stop, gas station had a small casino in them.

Ohio could have done the same but didn't.

But....in both the casino and the dope grower situation....once you let the cat out of the bag, more cats could follow. A number of other people could apply for a casino license. The new law for dope would allow for expansion of the list of "growers".

    Let's put it this way:

There are probably really no more than 10 actual suppliers and distributors of gasoline operating in this state. And that commodity is far more ubiquitous than dope will be. The Circle Ks and the Speedways and the Duke and Duchess stores all get their gas from the same source. So the "dope" monopoly doesn't concern me any more than the gas or the gambling monopoly does.

Yes, years of experience as an attorney and as a magistrate. Far, far more issues that cause the taxpayers money are caused by alcohol than are caused by marijuana. Honestly....almost universally the worst infraction that I have ever seen caused by marijuana is basically just the technical legal infraction of possessing it.

In 35 years I cannot tell you that I have dealt with any OVIs that were strictly cannabis related.

Other than alcohol, far more cases of OVI were charged by the use of prescription drugs.......and half of those were probably where the person actually had a prescription for those drugs.....the vicodins, darvocets, etc.

  • It doesn't matter what anyone thinks, it will be legal soon if not this year. It's funny cuz ppl voting no are just delaying the inevitable, were fucked anyways cause our country is poor and stupid and wants socialists as president to keep everything fair for ppl that don't want to work. Weed is the least of my worries

Will you smoke it when it passes? 😉

Weed is now like alcohol was in the twenties....forbidden but commonly utilized. Soon "Prohibition" against weed will go the way of prohibition against alcohol...and prohibition against gay marriage.

Nope. Never have smoked it before & have no interest in ever trying it.

I don't think you comprehend the fundamental issue I and others have with the bill. I am somewhere on the no side of neutral on legalization. I am 100% opposed to the 10 idiots preying on your desire to get high. I will vote against for sure. IF the bill was amended to allow licensed open market AND remove edibles I'd obstain. If the bill did both of the above AND was only medical I'd vote yes. The bill as it stands is common political practice on all bills. Put a shiny diamond on a pile of shit knowing most people won't look past the diamond.
  • I'm going to put this as simply as possible. If you vote no on issues 3 you are voting to support terrorism and criminal wealth. Do you guys know how much weed gets imported to this country from the cartels? Seriously its a lot... almost all the cheap weed in this country is brought in from mexico. So in light of that is this bill really all that bad? someone is going to get rich because legal or illegal weed is still going to be here and a lot of it... so maybe its better to actually put that money into the state and the citizens of the state instead of funding the cartels. People can always vote to reform the bill later on if they want to adjust it.

  • BFR- +1

  • What's more concerning to me than people believing Marijuana should still be illegal...

THE FACT THAT SO MANY FANS HAVE GIVEN UP ON THE SEASON!!! WHAT THE FUCK!

We're not even at the BYE yet and you can't see the Playoffs? It's a long season... we're 7 games in. There is time to turn it around. Believe. We need to will them to wins. We Bark Together.

ALSO! JOSH GORDON?.... Baggage aside, if he were to go onto the open market tomorrow, he'd be a first round draft pick... No, scratch that, he'd be a -TOP 5- first round Draft Pick. Of course, you're going to say, "But, he isn't playing" or "he'll just get suspended again". Josh Gordon WILL be a HOFer, bet.

So, you are saying it could be either those 10, or these 7:

I know you are trying to massage your thread.....but it really ought to stick to one subject....and that is the marijuana issue.....which could get shelved to the Political Board.

I am overall undecided longer term on how I feel about legal weed. I am however smart enough to see through the well orchestrated ads about poor little children who can't get medical weed and job creation. If their genuine concern were anything like The ads they"d have no issue with growing for personal use and licensing smaller caregiver farms. The bill is a straight cash grab that counts on either sympathy or the fact many don't care about the bullshit as long as they can buy weed. It's a bad bill.

^^This 1000%, couldn't have said it any better. Just because it'll leagalize weed doesnt make it a good thing. This bill is all about big buisness trying to swoop in and monopolize the market. If people would be patient, next year would be the year to legalize.

On Josh, yes. Full offseason next year with the team to get reaclimated with the team and i see no reason why he cant be very helpful as long as he toes the line.

Playoffs,ehh... My heart says yes, my brain says not likely. The biggest reason for optimism right now is even though we're 2-5, we are 1-0 in the AFC North. So we actually arent in as bad of shape that our overall record says we are. No room for error though.....

This is straight up ignorant as fuck! If you dont think for one second that the drug cartels wont adjust your nuts. They'll still smuggle tons and most definitely have the resources to open up grow houses up and down your street... These people kidnap, kill, and behead motherfuckers to get what they want. You think a bill in Ohio is gonna stop that shit lol

what i think is ignorant as fuck is that you obviously believe doing nothing will be even more effective. In fact even the rand corp published a study showing the impact of legalization on these cartels... all you have to do is research a little.
