It's called respect for the game, and it would probably get you fired if you continually didnt shake their hand. Plus, you'd just look like a big faggy bitch.

No it isn't, it's called being a good sport. Fuck that.

This isn't fucking high school ball. These are grown ass men getting paid to play football.

Exactly, it's not High School ball. Shaking hands is so High School. Grown men getting paid $$$$$ to win football games shouldn't be yucking it up and shaking hands with the enemy.

So you're just a bitch, got it.

Bet you get pissy when traffic is bad, too.

  • another doom and gloom post. like mark o said, this happens after every game. hell they're shaking each other's hands before the clock runs out.

hell they're prob celebrating that they didn't get a concussion or their career ended by a hit on the field.

people make mountains out of mole hills when they're upset and look for things that just aren't there and then say 'did ya see that?'

yeah your friend got into the locker room. who is he, the 'ball' boy?

Draft guys that hate to lose.

  • The fact of the matter is Pettine and Farmer are REALLY bad at firing up the troops.

When they do, they get a lead and let it slip because they play not to lose.

  • How is that on Farmer?

I recorded the game and went back and watched some of the Browns players "celebrate" after the defeat. I for one was not happy to see it. In what I recorded I can see Gurley look like he is pulling off his jersey when the camera pulls away but in the clip I am looking at he is next to Duke Johnson who is all smiles.

This happens after every game in nearly every sport. It's been going on for years and it's not like the old days I'm afraid.

Mark it does but I never witnessed anything like this before. I noticed for many years after losing games the players would mill around afterwards and talk with old teammates from college or friends they knew on other teams. I understand that. It seemed like here I was witnessing one team who earned the right to celebrate after winning this game and some of the Browns players acted like they were joining in the celebration with the Rams players after the game. When I saw Duke Johnson with Gurley not only was he grinning ear to ear but after watching it a second time I noticed he gave a couple of thumbs up to the camera. Pathetic. Losing means nothing to these players particularly if what was posted was true about the behavior in the locker room after the game and I have no reason to believe it is not true after seeing how some of these Browns players acted on the field after the game.

I'm no football genius, but I know for sure if I was the head coach of any NFL team. I would never go to the opposing head coach and shake his hand after the game, win lose or draw. As for the players it would be a team rule that if we lose and you go to the other team and socialize with them or anything, you won't be playing next week. In fact, if we lose, you are to go straight to the locker room. You may only socialize if we win, as it will be a privilege to do so.

It's called respect for the game, and it would probably get you fired if you continually didnt shake their hand. Plus, you'd just look like a big faggy bitch.

This isn't fucking high school ball. These are grown ass men getting paid to play football. Your "team rule" won't mean shit, players will socialize with other players and there's not a damn thing you could do about it.

Your control issues point to the fact that you have none in your own life. Maybe you should take care of that first, chief.

Socializing and joking around with the players of a team that just shit on you is the definition of disrespecting the game. It clearly shows you don't care about losing and that every game is not important to you.

Hell yeah this isn't high school, cause in high school (in the OHSAA) you have to shake hands or you will get in trouble.

You really think I want to hear the other coach whisper good game and other sweet nothings in my ear? Besides the fact that these losing coaches say "good game" when it wasn't a good game cause the other team ran right through them or they weren't prepared.

Lots professional sports teams have team rules, besides the fact that the team pays them to pay, if you want to be in good standing with the people who are paying you, then you follow the rules the team makes.

So you think Belichick doesn't have control of his life? Cause he controls EVERY FUCKING THING the patriots do, not surprisingly they win.

So not only have you said that you've never played a down of football in your life, but you're also a complete bitch.

    Well done.

And I don't fit any of those definitions so I'm not sure how I am a bitch, let alone a complete one.

Guess what New England does after a game, win lose or draw? They shake hands. They socialize with the other team. They smile. They don't sulk around like pussies, like you'd have your team do.

Honestly, if I were an opposing head coach, I'd be all for your idea, just to see you stomping around on the sideline like Jim Harbaugh whining and complaining and yelling at your players because you're too insecure to lose.

Huge difference between Jim Harbaughs antics and not wanting your players to be content with losing. Which is exactly what the Browns are. They lose and are okay with it, most of them at least.

So basically in your opinion, every team is ok with losing since every team does exactly what the Browns team did after the game on Sunday.

Yeah, you've made my point. I appreciate it.

Edit: to be simple. If you win, shake the other man's hand, wish them good health and move on.

If you lose, shake the other man's hand, say 'well done', internalize your defeat and use it as motivation to move on.

All things MEN can and should do. I stress men because I don't take you as one. Especially when it comes to competition.

  • waiting for a closed door player meeting?

    Coach Pettine deserves that

hope that hasnt gone by the wayside

  • The Browns lost the game. They got beat 24-6. Our quarterback got knocked out of the game because we have an O line that doesn't give him enough protection, we don't have a running game, we have a defense that can't stop the run. The loss puts us at 2-5. Can someone tell me why some of these Browns players seem so ecstatically happy after this loss to the Rams???

Being a good sport after a loss is normal. I even saw Pettine give a hug to a Rams coach. Greet some of the other team but then get off the field ...because if you haven't noticed you are the losing player on the losing team. The winning team celebrates. Go out and win some games and then celebrate.

  • Well everyone gets a participation trophy these days so what's their impetuous to win?

  • One of the worst culprits for showing a lack of "caring" that his team lost is Whitner... and hes supposed to be a leader. I always see him chum it up after games while smiling.

These guys don't care, as long as their healthy and getting paid. Losing and getting a fat FA contract at the end of your career is what the Browns are all about. It obviously comes from the leadership/management of this team who have failed to build a culture of winning.

Until the culture changes, the losing will continue...
