It's not that big a deal since its clearly unloaded, but the proper form is to carry it so the barrel points downwards, and not aimed backwards towards others.

It should be fine, as long as nobody tries to pull on the end of the shotgun hanging over his shoulder with any appreciable amount of weight. It's just not the ideal form to carry it that way.
