I would still go with a defensive player like Bosa or someone else with our 1st pick, but package up some picks with Dallas's 1st round pick and maybe get back into the top 10 or 15 and take a QB.....
-
I think you're living in a dream land if you think Johnny is going to bring a first round pick.
Hahahaha.....I dont believe he's worth it for a second......and didnt think so when he was picked either.....
BUT.....if Jerry is gonna call him a "great one" and compare him with the Rapist....then HE must think he's worth it....right?

well if you go into negotiations with Jerrah and have that mentality, you'll be lucky to walk out with a pat on the back. You ask for their #1, and you squeeze him hard over it, than maybe throw in another lame player we all want out and see if he bites. At worse we get the boys 2nd rounder.

The problem is now wins only hurt us. McCown is getting us nowhere next year. Now is when we judge the roster for next year. If they arent in the plans for next year, they shouldnt be playing, regardless of position. Develop the future.

I almost forgot that winning football games hurt franchises. Better lose out so we can get a really good draft pick.....again. Sure glad you would steer this team away from LOSER mentalities like win any and every game. Better to worry about games 1.5 years in advance.

So Pettine may have been right on Johnny at halftime
Count me in as one of those ready to crucify Pettine for his halftime comments on Johnny but this film analysis supports Pettine's statements that Johnny was leaving a lot of plays on the field.
SB Nation: Johnny Manziel isn't ready to start not even close

Fire O'Neill. Hire whoever the fuck else.
Ship Manziel and Gordon and a third to Dallas for a first and a second.
Cut Bowe. Let Mingo walk. Resign Barnidge and Benjamin.
Draft Paxton Lynch with 1A. Draft Joey Bosa with our 1B. Yup, with our second first rounder.
Draft Michael Thomas with 2A. Draft Carl Nassib with 2B.
Trade our fourth and sixth to move up into the third and take Braxton Miller.
Lose: shitty, undersized QB. Pothead WR.
Gain: giant, decently mobile QB. Smart WR. Best pass rusher. Second best pass rusher. Braxton Miller.
There you go.

I really don't think you are getting a 1st and 2nd for a midget QB that no one else wants and a wr that is one toke from a lifetime suspension. Even with the third thrown in.
But the thought is nice.

That would be pretty excellent.

Sell the poor kid to jones. Just get him out of here. The browns office clearly doesnt want him. Getting rid of him then becomes a win win. Take a third. Just get the guy out of cleveland and let him go somewhere else.

Because my post reeked of logic...

Just wait until next year when Manziel and Gordon get to finally play together and there is NO WAY you'd give them up for 5 first rounders...

Wow... even I did not think JM was this bad...
"On almost every one of Manziel's positive passing plays he actually also lost yards. The only passing plays where that wasn't the case were generally the screens that he threw. On plays where he had to actually decide who to throw to based on the route combinations and coverage, Manziel almost inevitably found ways to minimize the offense's production.
By the end of the game it didn't look like any of his receivers were still running their routes as hard as they had been. Probably because at that point they were no longer expecting him to actually sit in the pocket and go through his reads which made their crisp routes null and void."
Edit: A couple of the writer's "critiques" are a tad over-the-top, but others are valid.
