As much as I want the Browns to win, Joey Bosa at the #1 pick is very intriguing.....

There are so many teams tied with us, no way we get #1 pick

Browns are only 2-8 team in the NFL, if the season ended now, we would have it.

And we are not losing the rest of our games anyways.

And who the hell wants the first pic anyway?

You are right lets go 8-8!!! I love the 17th pick!!

  • When Josh Gordon comes back next year, Johnny will have his bearings, took his lumps and Good ol' Josh Gordon can run right underneath those bombs ala Antonio Brown. Keep Benji, pick either one of Hawk or Gabe and cut Bowe. Keep Hartline. Pick up another WR threat in the Draft. Get a FB. Tryout Trent Richardson and see where he's at, if he's gotten better we could double-dip in the draft.

Good god I was with you right up till when you went off the mental rails with Richardson.

They are so wildly inconsistent with their rankings that is why they are bullshit. I can come up with a system where I throw darts at numbers if that makes you feel better.

Less talk, more action. You've got nothing.

Until you show your analytic system which is more accurate than PFF, you will continue to be wrong.

There are numerous examples of how wildly inconsistent their ratings system is. Rainman, I will get back to you when I have an equally dicked up system that can fleece analytics dorks.

  • Now it gets real. He has 6 games to show the Browns and Browns fans that they no longer need to worry about the QB position in the future. Get close to the 95 rating week to week for those games and that should do it. Difficult to accomplish with such a depleted (Gabriel and Hawkins under concussion protocol at the moment) and smallish receiving corps, but Josh was able to do it so he should too. And who knows what the fuck is up with Bowe, injury or doghouse or just there for the check.

    Bowe seems slow. Seriously slow.

One thing to consider with Manziel is, for McCown he had no issue with the smaller receivers, but is 6'6" and could see them clearly; Manziel had no issue with bigger receivers because he could see them above the linemen. But Small QB, small receivers, could be an issue. Just an idea. Guessing we'll see lots of Hartline, Benji and 12 formations.

It is definitely an issue, that article after Cinci game calling Johnny out for missing open receivers never once acknowledged he couldn't see them purely because they're so small.

I really question why Farmer thinks JM can be the man but then gives him the smurfs we have at WR, it makes no sense at all.

I agree with both you and Chris. However it appears they are teaching him to move around more in the pocket with his nimble little feet so he can find the visual lanes to the called for pass patterns on each play. He just needs a lot more reps with his starters to get those connections down to the individual nuances of each targeted guy.

If you had anything, you would have put it out already.

All you'll ever do is talk -- because doing something substantive requires more effort than you've ever put into anything in your life.

  • Michael Robinson NFL Total Access threw a little reality in on assessment of JM. He says that if they want a true evaluation then he needs to have the good players around him. "I don't know if he has the good pieces around him". In fairness he also states that JM cannot go back to "backyard offense" because his coaches are trusting him to run the plays correctly as they call them. Both excellent points. I think if JM takes care of the second of those, the O coaches are smart enough to know when the problem is the supporting cast and not him at fault if things go south.

Now defensive coaches is another thing entirely. I wouldn't trust them with pocket change, because they'd mix up which are dimes and which are quarters.

Someone seems awfully upset about having someone disagree with them about a website that rates football players. Life must be a series of distressing events for you.

You still sending e-hugs to Gilbert on Twitter to raise his spirits?

  • But back to the point, Sally and Rainman. Check the PFF ratings from the Browns/Steelers game and tell me their ranking system makes any sense at all.

Oh the argument that I should come up with an alternative system if I want to make any complaints about PFF's inconsistent rankings?

  • Gonna weigh in on the whole PFF thing, because as usual, it seems people have to go to one extreme or another....IE: It's either GREAT or it SUCKS completely......(no middle ground, as is the case way too often around here)

I see most people miss-using it, by just considering the player "grades" as rankings, instead of just scores......and there is a difference...

PFF is not the end all - beat all, its just a tool. And, like any tool, you have to understand how to use it. Too many writers and fans see a grade and then immediately assume that is a "rank"......whatever.....and those grades are rarely an apples to apples comparison, so comparing grades is a waste of time in many instances....

The good thing about PFF is they show many stats you cant see elsewhere and they have a metric system that allows you to see things in a different light....IF your willing to dig and see those things. ...but most arent. ....Instead, people look at the one grade and make determinations that are just wrong..

Here's an extreme example: A 3rd grader takes a math test and gets a grade of 100%. A 6th grade student also takes a math test and gets a grade of 60%. Both their grades are posted on the same bulletin board......then someone looks at the board and assumes that the guy with 100% is smarter and better at math than the guy with 60%.....because he's lazy and only looking at the grade......BUT, a deeper look would show that they had taken different tests, at different levels and with different expectations.....and, by looking deeper, they might be able to figure out that the 6th grader is actually smarter than the 3rd grader.....(even though he has a lower grade)

    Its really that simple.....

So.....if you completely discount PFF and their system....Id say you just dont know how to use it properly.....

And....if you just pull down those grades and consider it a "ranking within the league", without looking deeper into how and why those grades are there.....then Id say you are miss using it as well.....

    Its grades.....not Rank......
