Yep. Am Going to Wreck this league. But first lets wreck the franchise that I talked into Drafting Me. Money Signs to all & a middle finger back at you Johnny.. Next up, the players will have to answer more stupid MKC questions about her boy JM. The clusterfucks just keep coming in a game that you play & get paid. You don't fuck up a game that a organization of hundred other players count on you..

Kudos to whoever changed the title for me.
When I started this thread it was made with a bright feeling of excitement of JFF finally getting full control of the reigns. Then it changed to JFF maybe starting, at that point I was thinking Johnny would remain starter. Now, after a 3rd thread title change, JFF is no longer starting and probably won't all year!
What a wild 7 days.

Johnny hasn't shown the ability to play anything near a Brady level.
Tom had all of his business in the media AFTER he was a superbowl champ and multiple all pro.
You agreed with a point that directly counters yours.
How do you expect johnny to show the ability to play when he never fucking plays? Do you not see the logical fallacy here?
There is no logical fallacy here. How do you expect johnny to show the ability to play when he never fucking plays? Do you not see the logical fallacy here?
Johnny was handed the reigns as a starting QB in an attempt to begin the conversion of making him the face of the franchise.
With stipulations, of course...
He responded by flying half way across the country and doing exactly the opposite of what I can guarantee professional help told him not to do whilst in rehab. I'm rather certain also against the wishes of Haslam, Farmer and Pettine who probably told him to lay low, focus and stay out of the spotlight.
Pretty cut and dry.

Sure, quarterback is a leader, I get that. I haven't seen any evidence otherwise from practice or on the field.
Remember Hoorta, there's another guy in Berea that's supposed to be a leader and not doing a stellar job of it so far.
You may have seen him hanging around; bald-headed, van dyke, sunglasses...
(Plus I wonder if any of the defensive or other offensive players or at a downtown nightclub on their weekend off?)

The logical fallacy since you couldn't quite make the connection is "johnny hasn't shown he can play so don't let him play"
Of course he hasn't shown anything. He hasn't even started 5 games.

If he's been listed as a starter, asked to keep his nose clean and his business close to the team as he preps for what would be, the biggest game of his career career - then fails to do so. He doesn't play. Pretty simple.
If he can't abide by certain conditions asked of him off the field in order to be a starter, then we won't see what he can do.

A lot of over reaction here... not that that is anything new. Personally I can give it 24 hours before I consider freaking out as an option.
Here is the presser for those who have not seen it.
The problem Pet continues to have is after fending off multiple questions successfully as "internal matters", he suddenly deems a JM question worthy of a thoughtful answer.
Once Pet moved the presser onto other topics, his "energy" improves dramatically. Easy to understand why...
A lot of over reaction here... not that that is anything new. Personally I can give it 24 hours before I consider freaking out as an option.
Fastest 24 hours ever... apparently the "evidence" was conclusive.
And if the freak-out seems revved up now, just wait until the Inactive list for MNF is posted.
I hate this. The sad part is that Johnny is ready to start, and it will be devastating to him if he doesn't... And yet, he couldn't seem to help himself.
Part of me wants to say this is no big deal. And for almost everyone, it would be no big deal. "22-year-old has fun with friends"... No big deal.
And yet, he said things would be different. - no distractions. And here we are again...distracted.
So where to go from here....
I'm thinking out the door, Ag. MNF could not be coming to town at a worse moment.

He's shown significant improvement on the field- and that's the disappointing thing. I haven't forgotten- and the Browns staff sure hasn't, he pissed away all last year on the party circuit. Couldn't even show up for a walk through in December, he was so hung over.
I'll go out on a limb and posit the rehab was for booze. You don't- and can't- just go out "for a couple" in those circumstances. You're going to wind up on the next lower rung of the ladder.
Right....and we all know he's had restrictions and expectations placed on him in exchange for getting this opportunity to start...
My guess is he's promised 10 times to not let it happen again....then it happens again..
And if it is alcohol, I'm sure after last months roadside incident, it was brought up...'hey, Johnny, thought you were done drinking".....and he promised, AGAIN, that he was....wouldn't happen again....etc etc...
If you set an ultimatum (and I'm sure they did....any company would).....and he's broken it (again)....then you are weak NOT to act on it......I thought the roadside was his end.....I'm pretty sure this is....
And no surprise if he's back in rehab sooner than later....

Mud, I've had plenty of experience dealing with people with drinking problems. The ^ is exactly what they'll tell you- every time. Gee, I just need another chance, I won't screw up this time. I think "this" time, Johnny has run out of "times". I suppose he can spend the off season drinking on the porch with Justin Blackmon, and commiserate how life is being so unfair to him.
I'm torn on this one, so I'll wait for all the facts to come out. The Browns may know a little more than just what we see in the video. I'm leaning towards supporting Pettine on this one.
Put it this way Haslam's the boss. If one of his VPs @ Pilot got reported to him for constantly partying, getting so shitfaced he couldn't show up for work, you think Jimmuh wouldn't think twice about firing his ass? I'll say it again- the full facts will never come out, not only to not embarrass Johnny, but the organization for taking a huge gamble on drafting him in the first place. The Browns definitely have all they need to know- wouldn't even surprise me if Haslam hired a PI to keep track of his doings. Though TMZ has been doing a pretty good job of saving him the trouble.
Of course, it's going to be almost impossible for the Browns- or Manziel to put a happy face on this shitstorm.
-
The whole crux of the situation is simple. Either Johnny is too stupid to realize "going to the club" was a bad idea or he didn't fucking care, either way see ya. This isn't a video taken at a teammates house or friends house betraying his trust, he's in a fucking club. Now that's not a big deal but he made this a big deal by putting the organization in a position to "reign him in". For fucks sake Jameis Winston has been a choirboy compared to Johnny Football, and shown more on the field BTW.

Sorry Tour.Pray tell how Pet has failed as a leader...
He's been great.
An inspiration for one and all.
But before I succumb to the temptation to make another 15 smart ass remarks...
I guess we judge his leadership the same way as we judge Johnny's. Working hard when it was time to work getting better, improving what you do for a living etc etc. Is that what you see when you look at this season of the Cleveland Browns? Or do you see a team it started off as a huge disappointment? Do you see a defensive unit living up to their salaries?
I could possibly cut him some slack if for some reason the Browns win most of their last few games.
You know a lot about the game, but no more than anybody else about the soap opera.
In what ways would you say the coach has been a great leader? And if so why are we talking about the first pick of the draft a little over halfway through the season?
And related to his job performance wouldn't you think that if he is going to treat us to the first pick of the draft it wouldn't be a bad idea to know whether our first round pick will be able to cut the mustard and allows to pick someone else at the top of the 2016 draft?

Right the fuck on its time for Manziel to go and to start acting like a grown up organization

Well, he was skating on thin ice....and he decided to jump on that ice and he has fallen in.
I mean, lets face it: Pettine wants Johnny to be a professional and act like a professional and play like a professional. Johnny, being handed the keys.....can't get off his own block before he hits a light pole apparently.

Exactly... For those saying he did nothing wrong....How many other QB's are being videotaped or photographed in bars partying it up on their bye week during the season???? Forget the Manning or Brady comparisons.... Do you hear about Cutler being out in bars partying? How about Joe Flacco? Pick your QB and there's no reports of this shit from them. Even a college douchebag like Winston has from all reports been a total pro and is improving week after week in his rookie season. Johnny gets his shot..handed the keys to the fucking franchise and his first move is to go party in Texas on his bye week? As Zombo said...how bout staying in Cleveland and studying some fucking film you Retard?? As Hoorta said...if this is this assclowns idea of "keeping a low profile", I'd hate to see what him being high profile would look like.
Fuck him...I think he's done as a Browns player and I also think this move almost looks to me like Pettine has total support of Haslam and the FO to make this move so he isn't going anywhere as much as some of you want him fired.

a little more light was cast on this tonight.....apppears that after the NFL cleared Johnny last week, he had a sit down with Haslem and Farmer(which is not a normal thing, Id say)....and they specifically discussed the off week and expectations if he was to be the starter.....
.....and in Pettines words tonight...Johnny violated their trust.....
So, sounds like the rules were laid out....Johnny agreed....and then just a fews days later.. 1) Broke the agreement and...2) lied about it.....
And for those who keep saying its just a little thing, etc.....I never fired anybody for being 5 minutes late....unless they did it all the time.....and I warned them over and over....then told them in writing....then I told you could be fired ....then, after repeatedly disrespecting the policy and our multiple discussions(cause it's just a lil thing...5 minutes late...).....your fired....and then they are like WHAT?!??? FIRED??!!??....for being just 5 min late???!!!.....

Here's a pretty direct quote regarding what Mud referenced above...
Pettine said he, offensive coordinator John DeFilippo and quarterback coach Kevin O'Connell had spoken with Manziel before the bye to make clear they expected he would handle himself "the right way."
So there ya go.... They told him what was expected of him and he quite clearly doesn't give a shit. Take away the NFL QB part of this.....if you're told by your bosses how you are expected to behave even when you're away from work and you still do what you were clearly told not to do....you're getting fired. No question about it.
He either thinks the rules don't apply to him or he just clearly doesn't give a shit one way or another if he plays.
-
Something tells me he lights it up.....and Im no Johnny lubber......
He seemed different in his pressy this week.....he's feeling it and is pumped up....all new body language and rapid fire answers to their questions.....
I think right NOW is the perfect time.....and the one they've been waiting for.....
Lot of time on his hands now it's bye week, lets hope his head is in a playbook and not downtown Cleveland!
So, here's a funny bit from page 2 of this thread.....me included....
Lot of time on his hands now it's bye week, lets hope his head is in a playbook and not downtown Cleveland!
London views his crystal ball....
Let's just hope the kid can stay off the 6 o'clock news.
Canton dawg too...
I suspect he never leaves the facilities. He may be many things, but dummy isn't one of them.
Ag says ..."he couldnt be THAT stupid".....
HA!...Agree again.....cant believe he would even consider doing something dumb this week......fingers crossed but not really worried
And I agree..."no ones THAT stupid".......except, apparently, Johnny....
I shoulda known better...fool me once-shame on you.....BUT fool me 15 times?, well then fuck off.....
