    Yeah, I post here

See? I've even got YOUR support. So I know I'm in the right corner here.

    Errr.....wait, what?

I love the 'we should have taken AP instead' crowd. Let us imagine our 2007 Oline without Joe. Feel free to move forward until present day with that as well. Would Adrian have found the success here that he has enjoyed with Minnesota? I'm not entirely sure about that.

Seriously though, guys - anybody check out Carson Wentz yet?

You'll find that Ghoolie is in a "we should have taken anyone else" crowd.

He should have taken any other instrument beside accordion.

Just for the record he's a great guitar player too. Just saying.

I don't doubt it. Anyone who can play accordion is probably insanely musically inclined.

I once farted my way through Piano Man on keyboard.

  • I watch tons of college football. I live in SEC country and pay for the Big ten channel. I don't like any of the quarterbacks enough to take with the first pick. Not one is a blue chip. Not one is Jameis Winston. I would take a QB but there's not one that deserves first pick in this draft. Although Imstill think Cardale Jones could be developed. I would take him in 2nd or 3rd. We need a ton of help. Bosa, Adolphus Washington, Ezekiel Elliot would help. Elliot is as good as they come. We have the 2nd worst run game next to the Chargers. The Browns are second in the league in pass attempts with no Quarterback.

I take a pass on Paxton.

  • The person above me is an osu homer. To be fair anyone saying they would take cardale with anything other than at most a 7th needs to seriously look at how they judge talent at the qb level.

  • A lot of people like to talk about the QB, but I think this season has taught us just how much talent we are lacking at other positions. I don't think drafting a QB at the #1 or #2 slot will do us much good. As I'm wildly optimistic this morning, I still maintain that Manziel will be our guy, and I think McCown backs him up. I like our QB's, and I'm sticking to it. We've invested two years in Manziel, why let another team reap the benefits? Let's stay the course on Manziel, at least one more year. He's in a tough spot right now, and much of it has to do with his own mistakes, but not all of it. He'll be playing with no running game, and very limited weapons. Not exactly ideal.

So how about Laremy Tunsil? He's the mammoth OT from Ole Miss (I think), and he grades out VERY well. He could be the guy that replaces Mitchell Schwartz, and then possibly takes over for Joe Thomas. Schwartz hasn't been bad this year, but I also don't think he's been as good as his "grades" suggest. I also don't believe him to be a great run blocker, and we need to start getting some road graders so we can run the damn ball. You guys remember running the ball, right?

If not Tunsil, then another huge need is Bosa. No need to go into why.

And how about Laquon Treadwell? He's a big play WR that could help right away, and he'd be a solid pick, especially if Gordon doesn't pan out.

Gilbert didn't work out, or at least he hasn't yet. So the next choice is Jalen Ramsey, or the CB from Florida.

I like all of these picks WAY more than taking a QB first overall.

  • Need to watch some tape on Carson Wentz. Anyone have any insight on him so far

But I do need to watch tape on him, that part was true.

Exactly why I have been touting multiple trade downs during the first round so we can get about 5-6 mid 1st to late second rounders all at one time. But that actually takes a brilliant GM. Know any?

  • Joey Bosa makes Walter Camp first team AA (along with A&M's Soph Myles Garrett). Player of the year Derrick Henry joined by Soph Leonard Fornette (LSU) in the backfield.

You'll very much like what you see when you do.

  • Agree, if there's a HOF calibre guy, you take him, regardless of position (except LT, where we already have one). Otherwise, it's looking murky, and for the same reason we'd look to trade down, nobody will want to trade up.

Let's try to keep it rea guys. Profecting a draft choice to be a HOF'er???

Name me ONE GAME Joe Thomas has won for us. You can't. No fucking highlight films, no touchdowns, Not even any measurable impact. Our QBs got hurt from the left side probably more than any other team in the history of the NFL and college football. The Browns can't run flet because JT is physically pretty much on the weak scale of LTs. He has good balance and quickness, but really, he is a pussy in his position. He was a total waste of a fucking draft pick.

By your logic, NO lineman is worth a high draft pick because they don't produce 'highlight films'.

No measurable impact? Joe is a HOF player yet somehow a 'wasted' pick because he doesn't produce touchdowns? Really? Beyond that, I won't waste time with a rebuttal to the rest of that post or any others you may give. You are fucking clueless about the game of football, that much is clear.

  • VesnaKociper said:

Gipper, you full of shit. Won in spite of him? Why the fuck didn't win without him then?

Because as mediocre as BR was in 2005.....he was still better than Tommy Maddox or whoever else they had playing before him.

Total bullshit. You are so blinded by x's and 0's you can't see humanity.

It is the "humanity" that I am looking at. The fact is....BR had the worst performance in the 50 years of the SB for a winning QB.

So, yea, they won despite him.....that year. (but yes....they have been winning because of him since that time)

Bosa will bring nothing to Cleveland. Any pick other than Lynch is the wrong pick. You want a guarantee? Don't be a pussy, There's no such thing. Paxton could bust jsut like the others you mentioned. But the upside of Lynch to the upside of a slight impact player like Bosa is a no brainer. Bosa maybe can change one game every year. Paxton has the ability to change the entire fortunes of the team. Bosa is the pick of a jackoff, as far as the Browns are concerned.

Sure...you are right.....Lynch could change the entire fortunes of the team....if he is what you say he is......or, if he isn't, they would be just right back to where they are no.

History says you have at best a 50/50 chance.

Yesterday. The offensive line won that game. @250 yards rushing....and JFF had all day.

(against a bad team? sure....but it was a win dominated by the Browns OL)

The ONLY pick in the group that was worth the gamble was BE.

OK, but we lost that gamble.

I called out those other assholes as losers before they ever took a snap. You jackoffs are getting hung up on THE POSITION and not the PLAYER. Taking shit like WEEDEN, MANZIEL and QUINN is NOT representative of spending a high draft pick on a player with GREAT upside. We already knew they were shit before we picked them. Fucking Brady Quinn would have gone in the late 3d round if the asshole Browns didn't waste a pick on him. K2 fucked himself....he had the skills. Richardson was likewise a pick only a jackoff thought was good. We have not drafted a QB the caliber of Paxton in decades.

A lot of hindsight insight in there Ghoolie. No one would have taken these guys if they knew they would suck.

But you bitch about the one draft pick made that did suck....JT.

Glad now that you see the light.

  • if Paxton has a 50/50 chance of being our franchise QB for the next decade then its an extremely easy pick. how many games has jj watt won this year?

  • Regardless of our lack of talent at other positions, we need to draft Paxton. Forget seeing what Johnny has during the last 4 games...he needs to be released of traded after the season's end. Can the Browns take the chance of him repeating his antics going into next year? Take the chance of having to release/trade him during next year's season? Do the veteran players actually want to play with a "leader" like Manziel? No, on all counts.

This Manziel circus is 100% the fault of the front office/head coach. They knew they were taking a huge risk when they couldn't afford to take a risk. They're the ones who let us down, not Johnny. Heck, the poor kid has a serious addiction to alcohol....he is an alcoholic, period. What did they expect him to do...be cured of alcoholism by promoting him to the starter? Give an alcoholic a reason to drink and he will drink. Whether it's due to good news (celebration) or bad news (drowning one's sorrows), he IS going to drink. He will not quit at this age. He will cover up his drinking, deny he is drinking, and lie to everyone about his drinking. This kid needs to hit absolute, rock-bottom. Being named an NFL starter and making millions/year is not rock-bottom.

The Browns need to realize this and write him off. We need to try, again, to find our franchise QB as you're not going to win without one. Paxton represent the best chance at finding a franchise QB in this draft, and we can't wait till the next draft. He needs some development time but he is our best bet at 6'7", 245lbs., cannon arm, rare athleticism for a tall guy, and good decision-making.
