He has been taught footwork... spent time with George Whitfield even before OTAs. Then O'Connell worked him. And you can bet that M-F mechanics are drilled into him...

Problem is that it's still not engrained and so under pressure he reverts to "stepping in the bucket"... even when there is no pressure in his face and he has a throwing lane to see through.

I do remember all the time with Whitfield because that was here in San Diego. So does that mean the answer is no...he can't learn it at this point? If that's the answer, then we need to ship him off to Dallas and we move on with McCown and a rookie.

Never say never, but I do not like his odds at this point... And it was not just this one game.

Against TN his throwing mechanics were damn good except when he was legitimately under duress. But they snapped back in his next, stress-free throw.

His mechanics have been in decline in this last series of starts and today we saw really good throwing mechanics maybe once???

    It's a full-blown regression...

  • Just a troll nothing to see here folks lol

  • In a game where we were behind the whole time and needed to pass to win.

    C'mon man.

25% of his passes were just ridiculous.

Trade this clown, draft Paxtom Lynch and let's try this again.

How can you be two years into a NFL program and still have no idea where to throw the ball?

He looked incrediblly lost today.. I was disapointed.. I expected to see growth.. I saw regression.. Pitiful.

He was 13 out of 32! In a winnable game.

C'mon, man, this is the NFL, get real.

  • And yet somehow we were right there at the end. Go figure.

Go figure. The defense played well. We hung in there.

We needed some goddamn completions from a professional QB.

He did some great running today. But, in crunchtime we needed a passer.

    And he failed at that.

    It's embarrassing.

Let Josh tutor Paxton next year and let Johnny take his horseshit to Dallas or something.

    Z

  • Yes he has ... I thought he was a career backup who would be handy, but today I realized you can't rely on him. Piece of shit.

    Turn the corner, once again.

    Z

  • He was running for his life a lot, but it doesn't excuse the poor throws. Gannon showed on replay his flaws throwing to his left at least twice during the game.

Benjamin was wide open on the last possession (3rd & 10 maybe?) and he overthrew him. The whole tune of the board would be different if he hit that pass & pulled off the upset.

Frustrating as hell, but to their credit, the Browns haven't packed it in.

  • I'm thinking Paxton Lynch.

And trade up so we can get Lynch at number one. That will make him better.

And we will all meet same time, same station next year.

The year after, and the year after...

  • Manziel is horrible. Literally horrible. 13 out of 32? Take Paxton Lynch and move on from this assclown.

Throws were open and he didnt see them or missed them.

I'm sorry, but this is the NFL. You can run around like Steve Young if you can pass like Steve Young, but if you pass like Johnny Manziel you are nothing but a poor man's Doug Flutie. Fuck that.

Question, aren't we at #2, and the Titans don't need a qb, we should get him at 2. I know nothing about Lynch, but wait a year and get Rosen from UCLA.

Yeah real QB's are always perfect. Rogers sacked 8 times, two fumbles he lost returned for TD's and pick off in the end zone at the end of the first half that might have gotten them in the game. Yep, today in the NFL with a Superbowl winner having an off day. Get real.

  • Defense was great today. Johnny's accuracy was really off today. Also some head scratching decisions.

His footwork is definitely a huge problem. He's also slow to make the read.

    He'll still best Pittsburgh though.

We aren't sure Manziel is even a real QB. Until he proves that...he's inaccurate and has piss poor footwork and hasn't done anything to prove he's going to be a winner in the NFL.

  • Because he doesn't have a full season under his belt. Don't be stupid. "Let's try this again" again?
