Johnny is a backup at best even when sober. He couldn't beat out Hoyer or McCown.
-
"my name is Aggie Rubenstein, and i'm addicted to manziel..."
"Hi Aggie..."
-
Look I lobbied for manziel to be given the full season to prove himself win or lose without being pulled for nobodies like mccown or austin davis but the kid is a huge fuckup and has to go. He might end up being decent but he'll never be good enough to put up with his shit.
-
how good would he have to be to put up with it?
not even with 5 layers of saran wrap completely covering over your mouth? wait, never mind. i did it again...wrong website.

And the Houston Texans playoff game is a good example of what happens when you start a lesser player because of a personal problem.

Hoyer beat him out in camp and only lost his job after playing so terribly that they were willing to give anyone a whirl. Johnny stepped in without a knowledge of the playbook and having shat away a whole season.
-
Manziel beat out Hoyer???....WTF are you talking about???Manziel came in after we already had 7 wins, which Hoyer was resonsible for. Hoyer played excellent last season, until JF got in his head. Hoyer can't handle any type of pressure. He showed that when he was here and in Houston. Manziel?...I haven't seen him do anything that would resemble good qb play. You need to give it up....he sucks...he'll be somebody else's headache soon...if anyboby wants him.
-
Hoyer sucked so badly he was replaced by the rookie. That's what beating somebody out means.
I'm from around here, I wish Brian Hoyer didn't suck as bad as he does.
Just winning the games matters to you guys which quarterback won the most games for the Browns in 2015?

And just for the record, tour, do you think he showed up Wednesday drunk and they sent him home claiming it was a concussion?

Steve, I gave that whole debate all the attention I thought it deserved... which is to say none at all primarily because it can have no impact on my opinion of JM and the best resolution of our JM problem.

Pretty much what lodobedobedo was saying... Hoyer first won then he lost the job.
The depths to which BH's performance had to sink for JM to become competitive speaks volumes.

Aren't you the guy that keeps repeating how so many first round draft picks don't start immediately? Which means they all got beat out by who was was starting when they came to camp?
And if so, so what?
And you don't have to answer the first question but it has as much or as little to do with what we are discussing as anything else.
(and I understand that there is almost nothing that would impact your opinions...

Hoyer was handed the starting job last year. He showed some promise and was the hometown kid everybody wanted to have a chance to be the guy. Manziel had NO SHOT at taking the starting spot in camp. Hence, QB controversy.
Then Pettine turns around and does the exact same thing with McCown. Don't get me wrong, McCown is a good guy and he helped Manziel a lot... as opposed to Hoyer whom only cared about himself.

Manziel is done in Cleveland.. He's going to get a second chance with either the Rams or Cowboys, and probably fuck that up too. I was a Johnny fan too, and hopeful he would amount to something but at some point you have to be realistic and realize his issues will never allow him to get to his full potential on the field

Bullshit, Po...

)Not anymore... but if you recall there was a time... or should I say were times. One in 2014 and one in 2015 when I was teetering.
Back on solid ground now, however...

TODAY, Hue jackson said the "Browns need a quarterback" and that if JFF was in vegas as reported then that means he's not an NFL starting quarterback. So if there were any questions about where Hue stands, they have just been answered.
