Z, that wasn't directed at you- more like hard core Johnny thumpers like PG who are still in denial about Johnny.

We're probably not getting jack for JM- Jerrah will probably just wait till we cut him.
Yes and we will be on the hook for his salary for the next couple years.
Sounds like the Browns are winning, Charlie Sheen style.

Yep.
$4.6 Mil in dead cap

Maybe we will get it right one of these times.
7.6 Dead cap on Justin Gilbert by the way.
Hopefully we are done paying for Weeden and Richardson by now though.

I think Cowboys paid for Weed this year, now he can move to the retirement home after two nice contracts.

Steve- this is the Bible of NFL salaries.
http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/Replying to Zombo, Wee-done is only on the Texans books for $270k this year, I can't figure out how that's possible, as it's less than Vet minimum.
Regarding coaches,it's a little tougher to find out. Pettine has another two years left on his contract for probably $7 million total. Chud is probably off the Brown's books. The deal with Pettine is if the Browns had "offset language" in his contract. (I would hope they did) Meaning, if he gets another job in the next two years- what the Browns would owe him is reduced by the amount his new employer is willing to pay him.
Bowe? You want to talk about a bad deal- looking at sportstrac, we're still going to have to pay him another $2.8 million of the $6 million on his 2016 contract (he was guaranteed $9 million total) this year to tell him to take a hike. At least we don't have any dead money or cap hit if we release him prior to June 1st.
Speaking of Johnny- besides the cap hit and dead money, if we cut him- he gets a nice Golden Bar Card of at least $1 million + of the $7 million he was guaranteed on his rookie deal.

The only way we get anything is if more than 1 team is interested, and barring a miracle we're talking 6th round pick at best. At this point I think 0 teams want him and he'll end up playing in the CFL (I see Jerrah going for RG3).
Some quiet CFL team forum will gain thousands of new members and everybody will forever be in peace every time Johnny has a good game his fans will come back and say "told you so! you missed out big!"

Disappointed Johnny was doing blow in a Vegas bathroom with dudes, instead of properly doing it off a stripper's ass in a hotel room. Kid needs to seriously learn how prioritize every little thing in his life.
Maybe Bri can be his life coach after he washes out of the league next season.
We argue and hate each other over some really big losers. DA, Quinn, McCoy, Hoyer, Manziel. Kill me. The only name on that list who still has a chance to be a successful QB is probably knocked out on a couch or floor somewhere with an empty handle of Johnny Walker on the floor.
Kill me again

Again I would guess that it's more an addiction to fame and an out of control ego than it is actually alcohol addiction.
But still there has to be some time in his life he will be sitting in the stands at the Super Bowl regretting the time he pissed away the opportunity to be the guy on the field. For fucking nothing.
The bitterness of the high school drama coach thinking back on the day he showed up drunk for the audition on Broadway.
How long will it be before someone comes up to him in a supermarket and asks "hey, didn't you used to be Johnny football?"

It seems closer to that other Texas kid that has "affluenza"..but any way you look at it, neither is cut out to be a NFL qb.

Manziel will never be a consistent NFL starter until he fully addresses his addiction issues, and then CONTINUES to work on them. I don't know if the NFL player's agreement allows this, but if I was thinking about signing Johnny, I'd make him sign an agreement which stipulates he must actively participate in substance treatment, get a sponsor, and attend meetings. I'd also have him sign a waiver of confidentiality that allowed the team to speak to his sponsor so progress could be monitored. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but Johnny simply can't do it on his own. Every single person I've known that got better...did so with help, and with continued help.
Johnny has said this dozens of times in the past, but actions speak louder than words. Putting on a costume, failing to participate in treatment, drinking videos on the internet...those actions speak so much louder than anything Johnny has ever said. I want him to succeed, and I want him to have a healthy life. I don't think it's going to be with us, but SOMEBODY is going to give the kid a chance, and I hope he makes the most of it because his chances are running out.
I don't see the Browns getting a viable QB in free agency or in a trade, as that hardly ever happens. We're going to get one either with our first or second pick, and hopefully that pick sits behind McCown for a little while.

If he manages to get another contract anywhere, i'm certain it will be incentive laden with little if any guaranteed

I still maintain he's not an addict, just an asshole.
Maybe he grows out of it, maybe he doesn't. But of course we won't get a veteran quarterback who is worth anything unless drew Brees or Philip Rivers become salary cap casualties with replacements on deck. Even then they just get killed on this team as it stands.
If Im veteran quarterback with gas in the tank I'd prefer Houston, a team good enough to win with a turd at quarterback.

Yeah Steve, we'll never know I guess. I think it's a combination of both. Addicts usually turn into assholes eventually...it's part of the process. They lie, steal, and piss everybody off, especially those closest to them. I think he IS an addict, and a bad one. He literally can't help himself, and that's a trait of addiction as well. For example, he was JUST handed the keys to the kingdom, and what's he do? He gets on VIDEO and loses the job before he can even start. How long had he waited for that? All he had to do was stay out of the limelight for a week or two, and he couldn't do it. Now, one could say it's just because he's an entitled prick, but I maintain it's something more severe. Whatever it is, I hope he gets it worked out.

An addict is somebody who needs booze. To be seen and adored in public is something completely different. Also has anyone else noticed we haven't heard jackshit in a couple weeks when one would guess he be in full party mode?
As a musician my whole life I've worked with plenty of alcoholics.
There's a lot more behind the scenes we will never know.

I mean he's just a 23 year old who likes to get drunk. He has the money to be a part of some of the best parties in the country.
I like to get drunk, and if I had the money I'd probably party in Vegas, Texas, and all over the place. I'd probably go through a lot of top shelf liquor.
But I'm not a millionaire, I have a job and have to be responsible and perform well in order to keep it and excel.
I don't know if I'd consider him an alcoholic but who really cares, he doesn't give a fuck about football or the Browns. He thinks he's the best in the world even though he has several flaws that he needs to work on fixing in order to be a successful QB. I'll be popping champagne when he gets cut. Only chance the drunk midget has at playing football again is if he goes to Canada.

There's your answer right there baby. He thinks he's the best in the world. He's always been treated like the best in the world. A huge group of fans here still think he's the best in the world. He doesn't have to listen to the haters. And he's too young and inexperienced to understand that fame is fleeting.
But like I've said I have known drunks that had the shakes in the morning, drunks who have had the DT's drunks that drink whisky all day long some of them functioning some not, some of them who can go for weeks at a time, some who can never take another drink and some who are in and out of rehab.
At least one dead at 48 years.

Steve, then you ought to know- one of the definitions of being an alky is if your drinking affects your job- and in this case, it's f**king obvious Johnny's drinking is affecting his ability to be a professional qb. @23- he's at least a problem drinker, and more like what they like to call a functional alcoholic. There's plenty of people in AA on the low side of 25, and Johnny has been hitting the sauce pretty heavy since HS by all accounts. Me and Ag happen to think he's drinking his opportunity in the NFL away. That's another red flag- the person just doesn't give a shit about the consequences- it's party on. Oh- there's been a dozen or so incidents that points to an addiction problem Steve, and him being spotted in a liquor store picking up three fifths of Don Julio is just another in a long line of "if you can't see this is a problem, you're blind". He could at least have had one of his lackeys pick up his booze for him if he wanted to keep it under cover.
