  • Sashi Brown on Manziel "We're not in a panic to make a decision one way or another on him...We expect him to have a good offseason"

  • "....with the Alouettes."

  • Sashi also said Manziel didn't miss concussion treatment before season finale, but he was late. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14619652/cleveland-browns-willing-patient-johnny-manziel-decision

Manziel was in the building Thursday for postseason assessments on his concussion and was cleared, Brown said, adding that the second-year quarterback was late for treatment the day of the season finale and was fined for it.
  • Good, good. We need to make him sound as good as possible to bolster any chance at being able to trade him.

  • I didn't realize CFL and NFL teams could trade players? Since he's a CFL talent, why would a NFL team try to trade for him?

They probably won't try to trade for him, but it'd be nice if we're able to trick someone into giving us a conditional 7th for him. There's some dummies out there who might fall for it.

Otherwise he'll go to CFL and we'll still have to send him paychecks.

  • I liked when Sashi said

"We're excited about having Josh McCown in the building....and obviously Johnny is still on the roster.

The treatment thing I believe Sashi said he was fined but he was unsure why. All the other reports say Sashi said he missed it and was fined.

I could have summed it up and just said he fucking sucks. Easy enough for you?

Or just tell the fucking truth, as opposed to making shit up. You don't need to make everything sound as horrible as you can just because you want that kid from California.

And if you must do that then at least make it interesting. Like how about somebody tweeting if they saw him in a Chuck E Cheese killing children with a chainsaw?

It's pretty fucking bad. We used the #22 overall pick on him and by all the information we have so far we can't get shit for him - conditional 7th would be the best case scenario as I see it. Otherwise we cut him and keep him on the books and he counts against our cap.

Forgetting the fact he's a distraction all the time - he's also a pretty shitty NFL QB. He had several accurately identified flaws coming out of college, happy feet, can only read half the field or not read it at all, chucks it up to Mike Evans, runs into pressure, doesn't step into throws.

Call it shitty work ethic or the fact that he'll never get it, but he still has all of those same problems.

I understand you think partying it up, fighting while speeding on the shoulder with a drunk girlfriend, taking numerous selfie videos chugging shitty malt liquor and champagne, lying to coaches, telling friends to lie to coaches, etc, etc. are all fine things that a normal 23 year old would do.

I don't think they're fine, but it doesn't help his case that he's also a shitty quarterback.

It has nothing to do with who I want in the draft, it has everything to do with wanting to get this piece of shit off of our team.

That is the crustache of the next Hamilton Tiger Cat's QB. You might be familiar with him. He likes aliases and hates learning playbooks.

Not only is all of the bolded blatantly untrue or exaggerated, part of it is physically impossible, unless he's Uncle Rico and can throw the ball over them there mountains. Mike Evans plays for Tampa.

I was referring to in college, his go-to strategy was just chuck it in the air to Evans instead of wide open targets because he can't see the field.

And I don't see how any of it is untrue. I see bad footwork now, I see him escaping prematurely, I see him escaping the wrong way (into pressure), I don't see him making the quick pre-snap reads or really any reads - he is best at making the reads when he escapes the pocket (IE only is looking at half of the field)

Found his draft profile from 2014 (via NFL.com)

Pre-draft Johnny Manziel and 2015 Johnny Manziel are pretty damn close, as far as I could tell.

He had 2 good deep throws to Travis Benjamin this year against the Titans and people were ready to anoint him the savior, defending him is really grasping at straws at this point.

Maybe you can write an article on how specifically 2015 Johnny improved over 2014 Johnny. Because I didn't really see any significant improvements...and there was an awful he needed to improve on.

Has an unorthodox body type with marginal height, rounded shoulders and an underdeveloped body. Will need to learn to do a better job protecting his body and sliding. Feels pocket ghosts and often takes off running at the first flash of coverage. Undisciplined -- plays his own offense and presses to make plays. Cannot see over the pocket easily and almost never steps up into it, creating extra difficulties for OL coaches to coordinate blocking schemes and for offensive linemen to anticipate where the pocket will be. Dances around the pocket too much and creates needless sacks rolling into protection when the pocket is clean. Struggled vs. LSU and Missouri when he was forced to stay inside the pocket. Has not worked from under center, and footwork and set-up will require refinement. Often throws the ball up in the air and relies on big receivers to adjust to it and make plays, highly benefiting from the playmaking ability of a talented supporting cast featuring Mike Evans and an offensive line stocked with first-round talent. Tends to overshoot the deep ball and throw off his back foot, leading to some underthrows (too many dirtballs on the move) and diminished accuracy. Needlessly pats the ball when he scans the field. Could stand to do a better job carrying out play-action fakes. Has not developed a reputation as a worker or for doing the extras. Suspect intangibles -- not a leader by example or known to inspire by his words. Carries a sense of entitlement and prima-donna arrogance seeking out the bright lights of Hollywood. Is known to party too much and is drawn to all the trappings of the game. Lacks ideal starting experience (only two years), operated a non-traditional offense and has a lot to learn.
