That's my plan, but i want to do it like jellybeans in a jar.

I will merge every thread with the words "Manziel" "Johnny" or "JFF" in the titles and we all take a guess how many pages. No cheating of course.

Here was the first post, adoug had the honors in Sept. 2013:

    http://thebrownsboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26736&hl=manziel%20johnny

It's going to take awhile Z- you sure you're up for it?

LOL, and looking at the first thread- here's my comment.

"I hope they were scouting Alabama- Manziel is a punk."

Give an honorable mention to Mark- he was agin' him from the get-go too.

    didn't auto correct to "drunk".

If he is actually an alcoholic like many people presume, or has actual bipolar mental health problems, then I feel bad for not noticing that from my keyboard, and with no personal connection to him whatsoever. I have known people with both.

What I don't know is how insulting someone with those problems makes some people feel any better about themselves, but that's your prerogative.

Or how he "shit on your favorite organized football team" has any involvement in any type of intelligent conversation about the current issue.

He is a good football player with a bright future if he can overcome his personal problems and his pending release from the Browns.

And then we will move on to the next one. And I won't bring him up, or be bitter about him being gone like the Hoyer, Colt McCoy, et al crowds who have come and gone in this fan base.

Mike, see above. I don't claim to have a functional crystal ball, However, in Manzeil's case, the off- field red flags were so obvious, you would have had to been blind to not see them. & if you go back to look at some of my on field critiques, there was plenty there to not like.

Regarding your second part- I can only quote Bill Bellichick- "I can only go by what I see." Right now, Johnny's future looks like it's being sucked into the Black Hole of oblivion.

FWIW Mike, I could have been a lot nastier- there was a lot of really funny stuff on the # Johnny Free February twitter feed I could have reposted, Like the helicopter "searching for Johnny called off", Or the Johnny Stardust karaoke parody I could have improved on. In charity, I didn't kick this dog while he was down.

So either Manziel is oblivious to his current situation, or he just doesn't give a fuck. Both will turn out badly.

Unfortunately he appears to be on an extended "Lost Weekend".

  • Is he cut yet? Get back to me when he's cut. Or, definitively staying next year...I know what my money's on.

    Ray Milland?

  • A true leader, which the QB needs to be, would not skip out on his team for a game whether he was in concussion protocol or not.

  • Tour, it doesn't really count as getting to 50 if you have the equivalent of a page of you posting how far we are away 😉

There's a very real difference between having an actual conversation and being a sarcastic asshole on the internet. I have been both. But it's a big difference.

I'm secure enough with myself to admit being wrong -- that JM the person wouldn't interfere with his football career. I underestimated his issues and thought some of them were overblown.

What hasn't changed for me is similar to many people's feelings about him as a person. What those people have seen has reaffirmed their opinion that he was a headcase and would have been better off going elsewhere, other than to the Cleveland Browns.

For me, I saw a good quarterback then, and saw one who was progressing this season and disproving a lot of the criticisms of his ability to play the position.

We might not ever get to find out, and that's fine. There have been plenty of other similar situations where we haven't gotten closure on a player we felt strongly one way or the other about.

As for the "shitting on the Browns" remark I keep seeing... It's a game. A good portion of the players are getting rich and playing a sport. They give zero fucks if they let down Zombo.

Well, first off, this is a fan board. It's not about what the players think ... it's about what the fans feel.

So if the fans feel shit on ... that is more than relevant.

Secondly, the "shitting on the Browns" is most often used not to illustrate fan's hurt feelings, but the position he has put the organization in.

He took a dump on Jimmy Haslem. Sashi was there. And Hue is not about to let it happen to him. THAT is WHY he's getting released. Not because he was that bad of a player ... but in his two years in the league he has yet to prove to be a good one.

His failure to show up to the game was disrespectful to his fellow teammates.

Fans could forgive him as he was not going to play anyway. I don't know that many of his teammates forgive him.

Hell, they may be all lining up to volunteer to drive the bus that takes him out of town.

    Fair to say?

  • How about you just don't read the threads that annoy you Gipper?

Its condensed into one thread as it is unlike some other threads that get repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Hey....we need to get rid of the Johnny threads that annoy me so that we can concentrate on the Camp Goff, Camp Wentz, Camp Lynch threads that annoy me.

I will keep you posted on which threads annoy me.....perhaps in this fashion: I will post this danger warning when a thread is getting close to irritating me:

  • Johnny goes to Dallas and leads the Cowboy's to the playoff's after Romo goes down. Browns fans watch highlights of Manziel on ESPN every Sunday as he throwsTD to Dez Bryant. While Browns wallow in mediocrity.

yessir-pretty pitiful. I found a very long article written the summer of 2013 about the effects on him of having won the Heisman. It was really heartbreaking all the pulling, pushing etc. to live up to Johnny Football, Heisman winner. No wonder the kid is such a mess. I know he had gone into hiding most of his 2013 season because he could go nowhere without constant harassment both positive and negative. But I never realized the extent of it until reading the article. I hope he finds help even if he never plays another down.

  • Cool post bro. Anything of substance to say? Anything original? Anything with any kind of point? Or just trying to troll, horrifically?

  • No. Also no need for apostrophes in Cowboys or playoffs.

  • Wanna place a bet? Or are you not 18 yet?

  • You guy's are such critic's. 😛

  • Official Browns' statement is out...

Statement from Cleveland Browns EVP of Football Operations Sashi Brown on Johnny Manziel

"We've been clear about expectations for our players on and off the field. Johnny's continual involvement in incidents that run counter to those expectations undermines the hard work of his teammates and the reputation of our organization. His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules. We will have no further comment at this time."

  • They could have said that a week ago. Cut on Feb. 8 obviously.

Edit-not so obviously. Cap space problem if they cut Monday.
