Do you remember the village idiot? The town drunk? The crazy lady? Where you went to buy baseball cards and where you played baseball? Yes me too I love the small town.

We had a grown man child who rode a bicycle and he called himself Roscoe. He acted as if he were the police and he heard the song China Girl by David Bowie.

I had a friend named Mike, and Roscoe must have heard this song right? I was standing uptown and Roscoe pulls up on his bicycle and ask, " have you seen Mike? I'm looking for him because of what he did to that China Girl." I laughed so hard at Roscoe as he pedaled his ass off looking for whatever he was trying to uncover. It was so crazy.

Yeah, there was a crazy old guy that would do a somersault over a bicycle for a quarter. I shit you not. Then he would offer the neighborhood kids a pinch of snuff.

There's a guy in the town where I grew up that's kind of a fixture. He lives right on the route to the high school so everyone knew who he was. He had animated conversations with his mailbox. At least three times a week he'd be out there chumming it up with the mailbox. Or screaming at it. One or the other.

Early man walked away as modern man took control. Their minds weren't all the same and to conquer was their goal. So He built his great empires and he slaughtered his own kind, and he died a confused man and killed himself in his own mind...

We had Crazy Vicky. She would get naked and dance on her roof with her dog. One time the dog fell off the roof and the local authorities took it away from her because it broke two legs. She would scream at us and tear up bibles from her roof top. They finally hauled her off to the loony bin.

Nice. Would the bike be upright on its kickstand? Just trying to get a visual.

Ya that's crazy alright. Had one in my family too, my grandma. My brother and I spent a summer with her when we were kids and she made me put my Joan Jett and the Blackhearts record in the garage because the demons fron the album would enter our souls and we'd be possessed.

Lol. Ok ya it seems like small towns have that one memory of a crazy person or a town drunk. Our town drunk was Ray Sheets. He'd piss himself and slept by the railroad tracks. After my wife finished nursing school she worked at the retirement home and I went in to see her for something anyway... Ray Sheets was in there. She said that the CNA's would catch him playing with his dong all the time.
