  • Hoorta that's a good article & Truth McCown played as not any of us expected. Two problems, When John Elway got himself no option at QB & Hue Jackson can't count his future on Josh. I would consider their knowledge on Kap over a guy at MMQB/si. Your rookie QB drafted probably does not play, neither are ready imo. Kap obviously is not the same player he was but Elway & Jackson have or know a system that may get him back. Kaps QB coach this season was Steve Logan, he coached with Tomasula in World league something Fire. Listened to Logan's radio show out of Raleigh, NC for 3 years, Logan knows blues music & a good bottle of wine but still living off fame of coaching Matt Ryan at BC. Josh is a great locker room guy & mentor & Kap to me, hides in his own little world. Kap as a mentor, advantage McCown. Our #2 pick could very well flip to #7 9'ers & get very interesting if they get Goff or Wentz.. JM pack your bags anyhow 😛

Couldn't agree with this more. I would certainly get Kap, but draft either Wentz or Goff. While they learn, Kap will be our QB. Exactly what we need. But don't think Kap can't run the offense. The 49ers didn't have an offensive line. Depending on what we don with FA, I guess we might not either.

  • If Kap is willing to drastically restructure his deal for the Brownies that's fine. Shows that he "really" wants to play here. But he might be talking nice about Jackson and the Browns cause he knows we might be the only saps in the league that take his contract and then he can waltz out of the league after a couple years.

The one thing is though, that his contract is heavily incentive laden isn't it? Like only 12 or 13 is guaranteed right? But if he hits those incentives he could go up over 20m. Someone correct me if i'm wrong on that.

  • Colin Kaepernius wants to play for Hue. Never was a fan of his but I'm a firm believer of having Goff or Wentz sit for a year and watch. We can't get any worse.

  • The NFL Network says Forty-Niners want a second round pick for Kaepernick. No way the Browns should consider!

Don't we need all our picks? Here is Walter Football's Mock Draft For Browns thru 5 rounds

    #2 Carson Wentz

    #32 Derrick Henry

#65 Le Raven Clark OT Texas Tech

#96 Tajae Sharp WR U MASS

#129 Kentrell Brothers ILB Miss S

In my opinion it would be counter productive to give up a second round pick when we don't have a "foundation" or nucleus anymore

I want all those Playboys Bunnies from the other thread to sit on my face...but that ain't happening...and the Niners getting a 2d round pick ain't happening either.

agree....but that mock would change mightily if we do acquire Kaepernick.

Pass rusher at 32 over a running back ......

  • Colin Kaepernick Wants To Play For #Browns, Discussing Trade With #49ers http://bit.ly/1YFRqnb

Here's a sentiment not many have shared recently: Colin Kaepernick wants to play in Cleveland. Respects Hue Jackson. Browns-Niners talking.

At least he wants to be in Cleveland.......

    A

At least we have a player who wants to be here ....lol

More than anything I think he wants to play for Hue Jackson. Jackson coached in Oakland while Kaep was in SF, no? Maybe they got to know each other.

If we get Kaep.....then the QB we draft will be a mid rounder.

Cardale? Dak? I would actually be pretty good with that scenario.

I hope we see more of Jones's passing in the pro day this morning.

Dak is more than a QB. He's a real leader. The rest Hue can develop because the athlete is there.

No need to bring in Kap if we are going to draft a qb first. Especially if we have McCown. Better off learning from McCown than Kap... especially since McCown knows his role

  • I would rather not have Kapernick...but this does make some sense.

One overlooked aspect, how many QBs have been forced on #Browns coaches. If Kap is Hue's guy (proclaimed QB guru), at right price, why not?!

Perhaps, but how about Hakenburg. I know he didn't look that well at Penn St, but he didn't have the strongest line either. He might be the steal of the draft.

Right. Jackson may want his guy.....and the guy that Jackson wants may be a guy he thinks can play right now.....not two years from now. Kaepernick is only 28. Early prime for most QBs. And he has proven in the past that he is capable. 2 NFC title game appearances....and a close loss in a Super Bowl? I mean, WTF....it is clearly a viable option for us.

But, of course the other two teams after him.....Broncos/Jets are certainly more "ready to win now" teams than the Browns clearly. So the Browns may again be only used as a bargaining ploy.

    We shall see.

I am sure there are a few other names that could be thrown out as well. Connor Cook. Hogan later in the draft.

And I guess....if Jackson thinks that Kap can play QB in the NFL and he can bring out the best in him, then why not. I would venture a guess that Hue Jackson is more qualified to determine who can or can't play in the NFL than any of us.

There are a few us here that apparently think otherwise. No names, please.

I am not keen on Kaep but yes, if Hue sees it as his guy then I trust him more than I trust anyone in the peanut gallery to decide what he can do.

I see by your avatar that you very may well have had several up close and personal encounters with dick cancer. (sorry dude)
