RG3 set to be a Brown ?

What are the Browns waiting on exactly? Pull the trigger already. Ya I'm not a big fan of RG3 but if we get him I just might be. We got the $$$$ to spend. Let's draft one and have Josh too. Let's put this qb or lack thereof situation to rest. What I can say without hesitation....he's smarter than Kaepernick.

Oh boy. The Browns sign RG3 Zombo will have a stroke over this one.
I agree with Zombo that at least RG Knee wouldn't cost us anything as far as draft picks- and he'd be a damnsite cheaper than Kap. Ghoolie will have a conniption fit if we bring him in though, and I'd be far from thrilled. So what's this mixed messages we're getting? Build through the draft, or get tagged in the discussion of every FA or potential quarterback that's out there? Who's next? Fitzpatrick?
I hope it's due diligence, and I certainly hope his former coaches will at least be honest and not try to sucker us into picking up a locker room cancer.

I believe the Browns FO has a draft plan so any signing of a qb draws contingency and throws a plan out of the window. Either this or they have no idea. But if they are clueless they would atleast be signing players Chip Kelly style.

Shaw and Davis were undrafted for good reason. Perhaps Hue completed his evaluation of both, and realized why they were undrafted.
Perhaps Hue is giving RG3 a chance.. to be the taxi QB, which is more than he had last year.
Option B is possible, but OptionC is McCown/(Goff/Wentz)/RG3 on the roster for a "get your head right" year

i like option C. insurance, depth, talent and upside at QB w 2 potentially avg or better starters and a 1st rd talent already in-house being groomed for the future.
i love the idea, affordable too--all three for probably half what a franchise tagged QB would be. position SET...on paper.

If we bring in Goff/Wentz, Hue believes in them and they are the heir apparent, if not immediate starter, with McCown mentoring. If we bring in an RG3, it means Hue isn't completely sold on Wentz/Goff and envisions another player at #2 being more valuable to the team.
I don't know how Hue can be sure that RG3 is capable of a revival, but we have McCown to bridge regardless and RG3 should be cheap. It's a low-risk move to bring him in and see what he has. If he busts, no big deal. If he becomes what most expected him to be, then great, we have our QB. I just can't envision bringing in RG3 and then saying "We really love you, Goff/Wentz, but we brought in RG3 just to play games with your mind."

Hue is familiar with the Browns and the AFCN. ever consider he might see a value in having more than one starter at QB, as he builds his team up?
if they could get RG3 for 3-6M a year, i am all for it.

We barely have to pay him shit. Better than a trade for Kaepernick. Why not? RG, McCown and Davis next year. That will get us to our franchise QB. Build up the trenches till we can feel confident throwing a kid out there.

i hear ya but then draft him with what? we gonna luck into our future franchise QB at 15th overall?
fuck that. you go 16 yrs w/out a franchise QB and you like a QB that's available and are picking second overall, you take a QB. at least in my brain. anything else is irresponsible.
it's a billion dollar company, it takes $ to make $.
the good ones are rare, they never become free agents. they don't grow on trees or accidentally fall in your lap.
shiny things are super fun, but a franchise QB is worth a little sacrifice to me.
the only way i see Bosa et al is if they don't like Goff/Wentz etc. only then can it become a bpa luxury pick.
but if they like one of them QB should be a lock for that pick, even if they make other moves.
i hope they like Wentz as much as myself and many on this board do and we take him at 2, even if Jerry Jones offers 2 1st rd picks to switch us spots.
it's time to become known for making enviable moves.

I like the idea of RG3 about 10x as much as Kap. We're getting a guy with almost the exact same level of rebound upside who essentially got a year off.
I also trust Hue to get him in here and work him out.

I can totally see the draft bending another way . RG3 is good enough to put your faith in him above a high draft pic. What I'm saying...if RG3 goes to Cleveland they won't draft a qb in the first round.i like option C. insurance, depth, talent and upside at QB w 2 potentially avg or better starters and a 1st rd talent already in-house being groomed for the future.

Let's do it. RG3... maybe we could bring in Trent and end up with the #2 and #3 of that draft on the team. Reunited with Gordon we could have something special. DO IT!! HAHAHA

if RG3 becomes a Brown, care to revisit this with a friendly wager?

even with 3 pro bowlers on the line we go through at LEAST 3 QBs every year. thinking RG3 would play 16 games is borderline insanity.

We were 6th in rushing last year. I can see improvement happening if they can build on that to give the offense some identity. (ranking let me find it...22nd overall)if RG3 becomes a Brown, care to revisit this with a friendly wager?
