  • Im not sure now they take a qb at 2. I think they wait till the 2nd or 3rd. Jackson at wentzs pro day is classic draft room smoke and mirrors to hide who we're really looking at. Its tunsil or bosa im callin it now. Whoever the titans pick first wevtake the other guy. If the browns were thinkin of trading down they'd already be talking about it. So they're staying at 2 and it aint for no qb

Why would picking up a gimpy (hopefully former) malcontent on a 2 year deal exclude the Browns from taking a QB at 2? The mid round QBs are nothing to write home about and RG3 is likely going to do just well enough to keep the Browns out of contention for a top 5 pick. I am sure the staff knows this is their opportunity to get their guy.

  • A fragile piece to a huge puzzle with missing pieces. But we upgraded over Manziel by far...Again, I love Guys just like McCown that our told they can't. It's a good Day..

  • I'll give him a fair chance. It's not like we were one qb from success

Think it might also be Ramsey ?

If no QB then deffo one of Tunsil, Bosa or Ramsey.....knowing Cleveland it will be someone completely unexpected

  • What's McCown going to teach anyone? How to be a back up? I like the RGIII signing.

Low risk, not much spent, big upside. Great signing. They look brilliant if it works out and if it doesn't they didn't lose much. I prefer this to wasting an early 1st rounder on those two QBs in the draft.

We have no idea what was spent...my guess is 12 mil a year

6 in guaranteed money. Seems like a pretty good deal.
  • Let's say RG3 starts week one. Who are the receivers? We don't have any. So potentially he's throwing to rookies. This draft sure is going to be interesting to say the least!

Hypothetical: #2 Laremy Tunsil, #32 Wide Reciever?

  • Could be gordon. They have some history

  • I just watched Carson Wentz pro day. Wentz looked real good. A+ good. Hue Jackson was right there with Pep Hamilton. I believe their going to draft Wentz to bring along with RG3. A 2 year deal with RG3 tells me they'll be a competition, they can bring Wentz along slowly and develop him the right way, for once.

I can't stand RG3 but if they do in fact draft one of the kids at #2, which is a probability I place at around 40%, I will bite the bullet.

  • 3.25m guaranteed this year. 2 year 15m total.

As QBs go, that's currently dirt cheap. Even if he makes all his incentives, it's still only low mid range. Here's the latest- don't know how Sprtrac gets this info so fast! http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/robert-griffin-iii/ Essentially a one year deal.

Osweiler is getting $12 million this year. The guarantee is no more than what we (would have ) paid McCown- I'm counting on him being shipped out with his s$1 million Golden parachute.

It's all smoke. Expect Hue to say "wow, Carson blew me away!" They aren't going to be like the Titans saying, we're thinking of trading down. Other GMs have to know the Browns aren't showing their cards yet.

That would be VERY interesting. Maybe the Browns have a heads up from the League office that Josh is going to be reinstated.

If Gordon is allowed back in, the tandem of Gordon/RG3/Duke/Barnidge is a lot more appealing offensively than anything we've seen in a while. Appealing of course is the key word there.

if the FO doesn't select one 'of those two QBs in the draft' at #2 then i'll no longer believe in hue, sashi or whatever bullshit they're trying to sell, period. it will show me that they don't know wtf they're doing.

Or the opposite if this move turns out successfully.

I am of the opinion that getting RG is a 50/50 proposition, and that taking a QB in the draft is about a 50/50 proposition.

Perhaps, if they do both, they will get at least one QB out of things that can actually play this game.

  • $11 mil per year if he reaches incentives. People are calling this is a "size-able investment"

Yea, that is more than I thought they would give him, by far. But what is the "base" salary....if he meets none of the incentives.?

  • Reporter: "So, RGIII, you signed with the Browns. With their o-line being gutted in free agency, and with no playmakers of which to speak of, what do you expect from this upcoming season"?

    RGIII:

JT, Bito, Greco on the line with Pazstor, Erving...and maybe Wisniewski.....and Alvin Bailey. Better than many may think.

WRs: Gordon, Hawkins, Pryor, Gabriel, Hartline, draft pick......maybe better than many may think.

RBs: Crowell, Duke, draftee maybe? Maybe not so bad.

Actually, more attention may be needed to defense.

That would be until Griffin gets hurt. Which might be sooner rather than later. Griffin has a Sam Bradford body.

I still say keep McCown.....and Shaw on the Taxi Squad.

  • Fine, but I hope we still draft Goff

Better get the pink to to.
  • From RGIII conference call:

On if he has talked with Gordon about the possibility of playing together:

“No, like I said, I just try to be there for Josh as much as I can possibly can. All of us -- me, him, (Titans WR) Kendall Wright, (Cowboys WR Terrance Williams -- we’ve all talked about reuniting at some point. It would be a lot of fun. You just have to take things as they come, and he is taking care of the business that he has to take care of right now. He knows I’m there for him. That’s all I can say.”

That would be a solid WR group

All those three needed was yet another QB who can't complete a progression? I think we have different definitions of the word "appealing"

NOTE: 3rd link in the above shows multiple snapshots within plays demonstrating how RG3 was no more competent than JFF at executing a progression. Many, many times Jackson cleared out the DB's for someone to cut underneath.. and RG3 never got the ball out.

  • I though you guys might find this read interesting. It has me leaning towards the Goff side of the fence.... I hope RG was studying defensive tendencies while he was sitting on the bench... More of the above.
