  • Long story short, I think I might be able to sue AT&T.

Is any among us one of the law profession?

Seriously, I need to talk to somebody about this immediately.

Someone fraudulently tried to make a payment to AT&T using my CC number over the phone. They gave an incorrect expiration date. The agent asked them to verify their address and the caller was unable to. The agent processed the payment anyway even though the person couldn't verify anything except the CC number.

A credit for what? I have absolutely no affiliation with AT&T.

I meant your credit would be credted the false charge.

    You must show "real damages"

    good luck

  • Just talk to your credit card company. They'll possibly give you the runaround for one call, ask for someone higher. You are free to dispute the charge, the credit card company will see that it was improperly processed and credit your card back and go after AT&T for the charge for not following procedures.

If you are out for some kind of big payday out of this, good luck.

  • call your bank and have them reverse the charge, they'll do it.

    You have nothing.

    Go buy a lottery ticket.

  • You may be able to start here...

    http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

  • You might have a better case for suing the stains for decades of shitty football.

Afew years back AT&T screwed up my mobile phone contract and I was fighting them for 6 months and nothing came to light and was changed on the billing until I filed a complaint with the FCC.

I have 3 cell phones under my name on a family plan, they were charging all 3 as seperate accounts and everytime I would call they would say we have it fixed but it wont be reflected on your bill until next month, and I would have to pay what was charged to keep service on. FUBAR! The rep would always say its beyond my control, finally I heard a PSA for the FCC and went online and filled out my complaint. Within 24 hours It was resolved, with a credit back to my account + some.

Stands to reason you'd come directly to a football and political discussion forum.

I'm assuming you've already tried the hardware store and ice cream shop.

I just disputed a charge for an item I returned unopened.

Visa sent me forms to fill out and asked for copies of correspondence and dates and times of phone calls.

I have no doubt they'll credit the amount eventually.

Also any PI attorney in the book will listen to your story free and if there's a payoff at hand will be glad to take a third of it.

Call your credit card company. They will track the charges down and fix it. Happened to me. Takes a while, and less costly then trying to sue AT&T
