Rams trade to number 1

  • Wentz won't sell tickets like Goff would. Please take Goff, Rams. He's the "best pure passer" you know.

    Wait,

    where's their phone number...

    Wait,

    where's their phone number...

Winning sells tickets....so all that don't matter. If they just want a big name to sell tickets they could pickup JMZ. He is doing his hanging out in LA anyway it seems.

    An irrelevent factor.

Let's see, the Rams are moving back to LA....Goff is the California kid....

and they are very interested on Wentz? I'd say they will pick Goff, it will light

up their local base, sell season tickets like crazy.

But if they want the best qb for the Browns, they will pick Wentz.

And, if they pick Wentz...just think what the hell is the deal with not picking..Goff.

If Wentz is gone, trade down. If the Rams don't pick Goff, he could fall. I'd take the

chance on him in the ...third round.... LOL LOL.

"sigh" I wish the draft would just get here, now more than years past.....

Goff is from Northern California which is nowhere near LA so yes he's technically from California but Northern California and Southern are basically two different states and hate each other so he wouldn't be such an easy sell to the LA fans.

If that is the case, then perhaps the Rams jumped the gun.....because next year USC QB Cody Kessler will likely be high on the QB list.

This really looks more like a big publicity stunt to get the #1 pick rather than a "we like this guy so much we gotta go up and get him" move.

    Fair to say?

It's not like they are the Broncos either, a trade like that for a QB needy team with few other holes on the roster makes some sense.

Rams have plenty of holes and needs.

Enough holes, to be sure, but also a mean D-line and running game. Get Tavon Austin involved more and it could be fun.

Also, look for Nick Foles to be traded for like a 5th or something.

I would take him for that.

Who will trade for Foles, Jets maybe?

    *cough* Denver *cough*

Winning doesn't sell tickets, otherwise Browns would have been bankrupt a long while ago.

  • Looks like we have to re-do the mock draft. Darren get on it.

Hell no......my resignation letter is all but written 🙂

We could maybe do JUST the first round over again, and stop there.

  • If everyone agrees and we have time we can do round 1 again after we do this draft....just to see how things have changed ....

Browns fans are crazy football fans anyway, win or lose. LA is completely different. In LA they will only go to see a winner.

Now...for the first few years those guys out there will go to see the Rams for the novelty of it and to be seen. But if they don't win any better than they have in St. Louis....in a few years they could be looking at 40,000 attending a game.

The new stadium would, yes, be a bump. But they will have to win there regardless.

They left there because of apathy. Lack of winning would rekindle that apathy.

  • That's doable... but of course if they take Goff or we take Goff at 2, then I believe the drinks would be on you... 🙂

Deal. the Father-in-law lives 45 minute N. of Dallas. We'd have to meet

halfway or something. Which in Texas, is a long ways........to anywhere.

Daniel Jeremiah released a mock this morning after the trade and also has Wentz #1.

Whatever those two guys are hearing, they're both sticking to their guns.

We could end up having about a week to do it.

Your contract as Commish does not end until April 30th....so we will require you to stay on your post until then. 😎

Lets all sign up for 2 teams but different teams ....I will start a thread ...new ideas as my Browns choice of Bosa wont change.....

Unless....of course whoever has the Rams decides to take Bosa anyway.

(and maybe that is the guy the Rams actually want....not these QBs.....ya think?)

Sorry, my bad. Cody Kessler is in THIS draft. He is rated a 7th round like prospects. Maybe the Rams will take him, or hope he drops to UDFA status.

Why did I think that he rated higher than that...and that he would be coming out next year?

Am I thinking of a different LA area QB?

    Perhaps the guy from UCLA?

OK we have a sign up sheet .....

It's not like the Rams really have to keep it a secret at this point, keeping my fingers crossed the Wentz rumors are true 🙂

  • What happens if Wentz goes #1 and the Browns dont draft Goff?

  • This is the kind of kick in the ass this draft needed. It's like a Joe Walsh joining the Eagles kick in the ass. Let's bring it on!!!

  • @darren15 said:

Silver lining? The #Browns could now auction off #2 QB between SF and Philly.

Not a bad idea....if they truly had just one single guy in mind and that guy is gone to the Rams.

So much for your theory about these QBs not being first round worthy Gip. 🙂 Though I think the Rams were positively nuts giving up that much to move to #1. If their QB pick busts, the Redskins fans will believe there is such a thing as Karma.

    @mike-h said:

If they really like Goff, they'll draft him assuming Wentz goes to the Rams. Otherwise, it's trade down or take BPA.

That still remains to be proven. This could still be David Carr/Joey Harrington. If the Browns take one, for our sakes I hope not.

    Thanks, Captain Obvious. 😛
