It would be stupid to take a QB

I'm fine with Jack if he's healthy

  • Sounds smart. After all, we haven't had a real qb in about 30 friggin years. Why start now? Sorry,.....no pink in my phone

  • We don't take a QB we are fools.

  • Idk about Ramsey. But I agree with you about BPA. Honestly with a qb with past injuries we should probably pick up Tunsil. Our line is depleted. But so is our defense. It's tough.

  • Here is the fact gentlemen: Mr. Hue Jackson and this FO may in fact believe that they have their #2 overall franchise QB.....in one Robert Griffin III. I think it is highly possible that Jackson likes him...and wants him to be this teams future QB. He is only 26. Just entering what would be the prime of his career. He has shown that he can play very well in the right situation....and IF he can stay healthy.

RG III right here right now in the minds of our Browns FO may be a better prospect to be a franchise QB for this team than any of the higher rated QBs coming out of this draft. So, do NOT be surprised if any of the following occur:

    1. The Browns do NOT take a QB at #2.....but take another position player.

    2. The Browns trade down....and bypass the QBs altogether and pick someone else with their trade down.

    3. That the Browns do work some kind of deal....either trade down or trade up, to take a QB in the mid to late 1st round, like a Lynch.

    4. That the Brown feel that they can get just as good a QB in the second round at #32. Can you say Derek Carr, Teddy Twatwater, Andy Dalton. Or in this case: Connor Cook, possibly Hackenberg, Prescott.

    5. That the Browns skip that even and continue with RG and even McCown/Shaw/Davis, plus take a mid to late round QB. Cardale, Brisset.

Bottom line....these guys may think they HAVE their QB. And whatever you and I think about it is meaningless.

  • If Goff is available he will be the BPA 😉

Thanks PoG 2.0. We don't know that. More importantly.....do you think that Sashi and Hue and Depo and Berry agree with you...or not?

I think they agree with me that he's the #1 QB, but I have no idea who they think is BPA overall.

If the rams take Goff I'm in camp trade down myself, I wanted Jack but it just seems too big of a risk to take him that high given the knee. Ramsey/Bosa/Buckner whoever they think is best is fine by me at that point.

If they think RG3 is the guy and trusting that, they are utterly incompetent. While its possible he could be the guy, I am putting no faith in it based on recent performance. It would make zero since to me to pass on a QB at #2, increase my changes that either one of them hits. This theory of building the team first and then getting the QB is flawed to me. I think if the Browns pass on Wentz or Goff at #2 they are going to rue the day. But then again I could be wrong, but I would rather take a chance on find a QB then worrying about finding the right LB at this point, priorities are messed up.

  • The real question is how far Goff will slide after Rams take Wentz

  • There are only two scenarios for the Browns:

    1. If the front office and coaching staff like whichever QB is available at 2, run up to the podium and draft him.

    2. If the front office and coaching staff do NOT like whichever QB is available at 2, trade the pick to a QB-hungry team and rape them.

You're out of you fucking mind. No one who knows football would think RGIII is our future QB.

Hopefully if it's number 2, they're putting a vibe out that they are considering taking the QB to get a better offer from someone who's desperate. .

Well.....that is YOUR problem. If they think RG III is the guy, then he is the guy. And I seriously suspect that they have more competency at running a football team than you do. If THEY....Jackson Brown, Berry Depo. put faith in him....you are stuck with their decision.

, increase my changes that either one of them hits. This theory of building the team first and then getting the QB is flawed to me.

Except, of course it has worked many times.....See the Seattle Seahawks of 2 years ago. See the Steelers of 2005. The NY Giants with Eli. Oh...and the New England Patriots with Brady. See any number of other teams.

Again...maybe you are the one with flawed thinking. I seem to recall the Cleveland Browns constantly trying to get a QB.....and never having much of a team around him....with Couch/Weeden etc.

I think if the Browns pass on Wentz or Goff at #2 they are going to rue the day. But then again I could be wrong, but I would rather take a chance on find a QB then worrying about finding the right LB at this point, priorities are messed up.

At least you made one cogent statement...bolded.

Adam Schefter Says Browns Aren't Going QB at No. 2, and Are Taking the Highest Bidder for a Trade

Schefter caught everyone off guard with his response about Cleveland having decided already that they are not thinking quarterback at No. 2, but instead are selling that quarterback to the highest bidder. Here is a transcript on what he said about the Browns:
"Even before this trade was being made, I was of the understanding that Cleveland was not going quarterback. That was my firm and distinct impression and intel. Now if that is accurate, and I believe it is, then I think this trade is a good thing for Cleveland. Now, Cleveland is sitting in that second hole. If any other team wants a quarterback, and there are teams who want that other quarterback, they have to come to Cleveland, and Cleveland gets to name that price.
To me, I think the trade added to Cleveland's leverage because I don't think they intended to take a quarterback. They as an organization have new people, a new approach, a new perspective, and they have so many holes to fill. I don't think their perspective was, 'let's get a quarterback to play with all these holes and get his confidence trampled on right out of the box.' They've got RGIII, they feel good about RGIII, there's a connection between Hue Jackson and RGIII. The goal is to build all of the pieces on the team and then go get a quarterback."
