Watching CNN. The Turkish military gave a statement saying they want to have a better relationship with the world and wanted to reinforce human rights in Turkey.
The military is secular and Erdogan is a loud mouthed Islamist.

Erdogan says this insurgency "is a blessing from Allah, because it will allow us to purge the military" from mutineers.
Zeynalov is a Turkish journalist. Looks like we will be seeing a way more volatile Turkey from here on out.

If they were going to have a coup they needed to be able to kill erdogan with little effort. Without him dead, obviously, failure.
