I would have to write a novel to explain what I see VS what I expected.....hey, I knew we weren't gonna win.....and I knew we had crap for talent.....but, so far, I hate the approach and the order they are doing things.....and, I hate the smugness of the FO and LACK of transparency in what they are doing...
Hate it.....
Hated the draft too.....just saying....messed up priorities....
Bring in 4 WR's and QB, then let your O Line walk w/o replacements?
Desperate for OLBS, so dont draft any high, then release the ones you have w/o replacements?
Awful choices.....terrible....yuck...blech......blahhhhhh

I think everyone knows this is a very special day indeed....one Ive dreamed of for years.....all the yelling and debating and FINALLY the team has seen the light....
And, while I am enjoying this immensely.....I wish we had a linebacker or 2 to play....but we dont.....
Ogbah...DE drafted to play OLB....then in week 1 they move him to DE....where HE says he's happiest and the team felt he would play best.....and then training camp focuses on teaching the rookie how to play DE in the NFL.....EXCEPT NOW, when it's time to start the season, they decide he needs to go back to linebacker...
Very very UNIMPRESSIVE chain of events for a top pick and for a FO that has no foresight ...one that cuts/releases/and lets players go, without any plan to replace them....
And , if the plan is to replace them next year, or the year after that, or with other teams cuts....then it is a very very bad plan and one that says to Browns fans...."F YOU"....

That is the first major plus Jackson has earned from me.....they actually cut the "right" guy for once....

So ogbah doesnt want to play olb'er? I watched him rush the edge in our 4 man looks and he looks awful. I dont see how he's gonna look any better sliding inside to the 5 tech. Maybe horton is reading my posts and will try using nassib on the edge?

Well, when they moved him back to DL, he said he was relieved and thought thats where he'd be more comfy and the better player...
Now that he's back at OLB, he's says he's just happy to play and whatever coach wants, etc, etc, blah blah blah...
So, our starting OLB has NEVER played a single game at OLB(college or pros).....how comforting.....his backup?....a slow average rookie 5th round pick who's never played a game in the NFL......ok, a 4th round pick(who shoulda been a 5th).....
You'd think the team would have seen this coming and had Ogbah ready....right?.....dumbasses....

Hey.....I see Paul Kruger released a statement today saying this staff mishandled him.....haven't we heard that from him before?
Seems that Kruger cant play football worth a crap and 1) blames his coaches.......and then when the talentless turd gets cut, its the staff being wrong again.....
Kruger needs to man up and accept his stats suck because he played poorly and then got cut for the same reasons amd stop blaming others for it....

Im bitching that they didnt have a player ready to replace him.
Im bitching because they dont have another OLB and they just cut 2...
Im bitching because I screamed and screamed to draft OLB's and they didnt and now we have none(but we DO have 10 receivers)(yay)
Im bitching because OGBAH has been playing DE throughout camp and the preseason and TODAY they say he will play OLB...
And, because of the above, Im bitching because its a clear indication that the coaching staff and FO are NOT remotely close to being on the same page....

i'm almost tempted to sign up for twitter and follow kruger just so i can ask him why it's the coach's fault he never learned how to lean into the edge that every other competent edge rusher in the NFL was doing in HS.

Maybe they really like Joe Schobert, Cam Johnson and Jason Neal.

Well, if you know me, I put less emphasis on those positions labels than most. I expect him to be talented and versatile enough to handle either spot.
And, because of the above, Im bitching because its a clear indication that the coaching staff and FO are NOT remotely close to being on the same page....
I think the page that they are on is: Get rid of the dead weight......meaning Mingo and Kruger. And they are on the same page of: let the young guys play.....we can get as much production out of them as we did out of the guys we let go.....even if it doesn't seem to be a perfect fit. The young guys can grow into the job.
Now, I may not wholly agree with this philosophy....but that is the plan....and they do seem to me to be on the same page with that plan....even if it doesn't look right to you.
But Kruger?.....screw him....glad he's gone.......

Hopefully we do run a base 4-3. I mean look at what our DE rotation would be....orchard, ogbah, nassib. Im k with that.
