Or, Hue's disappointment/frustration was because he wanted Kruger to be a part of the team, but realized Kruger had to go due to a diminished skillset.. It is possible that he agreed with the decision to cut Kruger.
Hue's allowed to be pissed at the situation and not directed towards a person..
We'll never know if Hue at some point stood up for kruger behind the scenes, and so Hue wanted to be right with his evaluation. And so even though he recognized Kruger had to be cut, he was still pissed just in general that he was wrong -- because you don't get anywhere in the NFL without a degree of ego.

You're referring to the plan to completely scrap and rebuild the team, right? Why don't you like it? We've tried it the other way a half dozen times now. It doesn't work. As you've pointed out ad nauseum, we don't have the talent to "win now," so why waste your time trying? Much smarter to play the long game.
Now if you're just referring to the "plan" (or non-plan) of moving Ogbah back and forth a million times, then that's fair.
Could be Hue sees Krug's dismissal, the dismissal of a "starter", as too open of an admission of tanking the season. Hue is the one that has to face the final 53.

Two things:
- only 999,999 to go to reach a million; and
- given the way Krugs was used, the move can be as simple as going from a 3-pt to a 2-pt. We probably dropped our RDE as many times as we did Krugs the past three years.

Sashi tells Hue at the beginning of preseason that they will be evaluating Krueger and there's a chance of cutting him.
Hue says please don't, my defense sucks and he's a starter.
Sashi says I get that but you're just going to have to endure a rough season. Krueger is taking us nowhere. If we decide to cut him, it will be merited.
Hue says "I'm upset by this and hope you reconsider, but you're the boss."
Sashi says damn right.
Hue is hopeful Sashi will reconsider.
Sashi cuts Krueger.
Hue is upset yesterday. Gives press conference.
Now here's the kicker.....

Since they never ask our opinion on these matters, our like or dislike of their plan is irrelevent, now isn't it? I only hope that the plan you don't like....or I don't like....actually works. Then I will learn to love it.

That does nothing to explain Hue's disappointment in that presser.

The fact that he signed with the Aints doesn't validate him at all.. he will be on the other side from a Pro Bowl end, and will still get dominated by a backup RT..

Exactly. He was a core player that helped the Browns excel to a 3-19 record over the last season and a half.......... Not rocket science, and certainly not a conspiracy. Why some of us are in love with these former 'core' players is beyond me.

I've been watching the NFL for over 40 years and I've never seen a coach upbeat about cutting a guy.
Seemed pretty mundane to me.
He is, after all, talking about guys losing their jobs.

If there is a defense that is likely to be worse than the Browns, it is the Saints.

Haven't seen one comment that suggests he deserved anything but to be cut.....
