We need an experienced backup QB

  • Again something like fantasy football when your QB1 goes down and you have an old experienced QB2 and nothing much else, check the FAs, out of footballs, CFLs, Arena ball, want ads, bars and realize you're pretty much screwed.

Time to get the kids ready and hope they all don't go down.

This happened decades back, remember QB4 (some good old guys) I think it was -but- the BROWNS had an experienced team around them......not now.

Sounds like what a good front office will do.

    Ours? Not a million years.

Yep, we've saddled the horse, now we're gonna ride it.

But what about "morale"??? If we don't add a career back-up that is sitting at home by the phone players will become sad... πŸ™

With that statement you have just qualified for this: πŸ˜†

Does anybody remember "We will (Don) Strock you?"

  • Seriously what's the difference?

If we are going oh and 16 who cares if it's a bum from the practice squad or a bum sitting on his couch?

Like mr. Z said if Josh goes down we can get any of these guys.

I have my doubts about cam Erving being able to play the center position and the center position is very important. We passed away a right tackle for no reason, and probably could have found a way to keep Mack.

It's unfortunate about RG3 because I think a quarterback needs time to get in rhythm with his wide receivers and that was going to be hard enough waiting for months 4 Gordon. Now that process starts all over.

  • Saw a great T-Shirt today on my facebook - brownie the elf and the caption:

"Cleveland Browns - putting the 0 and 16 in 2016"

Mik - if it's not too late to change the design...?!

  • Just draft the anti-JM, slow, tall, muscular pocket passer. That would be Kelly. 😁

I like Kelley. Reminds me a little bit of his old man and I'm always on board for Irish quarterbacks.

  • Jim is his uncle Steve.

  • Cant say we didnt see this coming.....cough cough...

Why sign anybody??!!....let the young guys play.....winning aint the goal, player development is.....

Go with McCown, Kessler and Hogan and just call it a season.....

Yep. At least they may get some game experience, who knows whether or not RG3 comes back, then work on the plan going forward.

No matter what, I'm a Browns' Fan & will continue to be.

Opal, please add my condolences for your loss.

  • Kessler has potential... but it would be unwise to throw him into the wolves. If McCown goes down, sign someone like Josh Freeman. He wasn't that bad of a starter a few seasons ago.

While I don't necessarily agree with it, that would be at least consistent with the plan that they have for the rest of the team.

You mean Chad Kelly...of Ole Miss is Jim Kelly's nephew? Did not know that.

The only way morale gets boosted is if the Browns sign Peyton Manning and he arrives in Cleveland via a Papa Johns funded time machine..... Oh yea, that'd get the inmates stoked alright.

  • I'd be against signing an experienced back up. Now if McCown goes down, then yes, get somebody in here.

  • I hear Manziel might be available.

Why then but not now? It doesn't make sense. If you want someone with experience in at QB, then you get him now to go in immediately upon an injury happening and not wait for the week after the injury. You get him in now to work in practice with the receivers etc.....not give him a rush job to start a game only after 2-3 days of being on the team.

If the plan were to be to have the rookies be the QBs of this team....then don't sign a vet at all. You either sign that vet now or not at all.

I heard he was down on the street giving Jimmy advice on the 2017 QB pick. πŸ˜†
