The market doesn't care who wins...unless it's Donald Trump, lol

Figure out what companies are going to supply materials for the wall, invest in those.

People panic and sell. Is the panic justified? I don't think so. Trump is going to have a very business friendly administration. It seems like as those panic and sell and stock prices dip it might be a good time to buy...although I wonder how inflated some of the stocks are already?
Some stocks and sectors will be somewhat overpriced you have to get back to the basics, P/E ratios (Price/Earnings), forward multiples, and remember corporate earnings are the backbone of everything.
As for small businesses it's things like availability of credit, manageable regulations and everybody's big problem healthcare costs that count.
We'll see how his administration will handle all of this but he should have a somewhat friendly Congress to deal with.
Stay tuned!

To the OP, as of 4PM, the market is up 200+. Wall Street apparently thinks Trump is going to be good for business. He'll have a friendly Congress to a point. One thing for sure, ObamaCare is as good as dead. I for one will be more than happy to attend it's funeral. For people middle income and up, it was distinctly the UN-Affordable Healthcare Act. Shopping & researching for my wife's retirement in a few years, to get anywhere near comparable coverage she has at work, it would have cost $900+ a month. Affordable? My ass. I still get POed the way Barack back doored it through Congress.
Heard one investor a little bit ago making his case for a boom based on Trump's call for infrastructure investment... said it would double under Trump and that it was fine for its added cost to "add to the deficit"...
Had to laugh that apparently stimulus by any other name is a good thing.
Ought to be an interesting negotiation with Ryan and the House Freedom caucus.
No denying the highways need attending to- Haven't forgotten that bridge collapse in St Paul. Locally, the I-75 bridge over the Ohio in Cincinnati is nearing the end of it's service life- and I've heard talk of about a $$$ billion to replace it. There's going to be a LOT of negotiating. Will the Democrats turn into the obstructionist party? Ha- at least Ryan won't have to worry about an Obama veto.

You mean the wall he did not mention last nite?
I hope Trump will realize that wall is as much pie in the sky as Sanders free college for everyone. As we found out, you can say damn near anything to get elected, the political reality afterwards is another story.

I've been watching this stuff all day, crazy!
CNBC?
United Rentals had a nice day...
For a sure upswing I'm not sure there's a better play than Defense Contractors... Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, etc... I like GD for its relatively non-competitive involvement in Naval Shipbuilding in its mix. GD was up 5.4% today.

Infastructure is more than just roads, highways, bridges, etc etc. Still waiting to hear a federal plan on helping state and local governments combat the opiate and heroin epidemic. Needs more than lip service.

Shit I better get on buying a house then

I would recommend it. In 1983 when I bought my first house the fixed 30 year interest rate was 10 3/4 percent. Who knows how much longer we will have the present low interest rates?
Actually my daughter bought her house at a great time a few years ago...low interest rates plus an $8,000 incentive thanks to the Obama (failed) stimulus. That was probably the best time ever to buy a house. Housing prices were down, interest rates were low and the government was handing out a check for 8 grand to home buyers.

For all the sky was falling panic when Wall Street realized Trump was going to win and the stock market took a dive...within 24 hours the stocks rebound hundreds of points higher...silly panic attack

A friend works in banking/finance and said people at work were popping champagne. So I don't think it is a financial doomsday.

I do not think you may ever see the post 2008 crash interest rates again where borrowing money was nearly free. Refis with super low rates will be quickly closing up and the bank profits and bank stocks will going up.Shit I better get on buying a house then
When someone buys a home I recommend checking out getting a HELC at that time as part of the deal since most fees will already be paid even if you do not have any need for the money PLUS if you're doing any fix ups or furniture , etc. it's a nice tax deductible way to go.
I have a subprime HELC which is mine and the bank cannot change it -but- check out all of the terms and conditions of any major transactions.
And good luck.

Bank stocks soared today which pulled up the 30 stocks in the DJIA "DOW". But do remember stocks can and will go up and down, makes it more fun. The S&P and NASDAQ also had a nice day both +1%.
Some of the talking heads I watched were talking about DOW 20,000 or higher, I started in the market when the DJIA cracked 1,000 for the first time ever....then crashed back to 700 and died for years! That was in the 1970s, DOW 2,000 was a book I read in college and many said it was impossible. Yeah right!

Some people will be happy because they trade volatility.
Also noteworthy, shares in private prisons jumped a LOT. Like, 40%.

Thursday 11/10/16 Dow record close 18,807.88 up 218.19, wow super hot, I might wait for a dip.
Banks up again, lead rally.
I saw part of Trump's White House visit, 15 minute visit turned into 90 minutes, he looked a bit "wowed" about the whole thing, no kidding big step from The Apprentice to The World.

You just can't help yourself can you. Can't wait to gear your thoughts on the coming Trump stimulus.

It was not "Wall Street" that started the fall... it was international markets who were freaking out. Wall Street simply cashed in on the freak out.
