Not to mention that play would have worked. 3 WRs vs 3 DBs. Pryor just whiffed on his block.

why didn't they run Atkinson then? He showed he can bang it in from the goal line
  • I have no problem with the playcall because they had the matchup.

sure, you can't see that ? This whole season was a classic tank job just like when Indy sucked for luck.

Yeah because going all the way into overtime and having first and goal at Pitt's 2 yard line against their junior varsity only to compromise ethics right then and there is the better route to go with your loyal customers/fans? I fail to see the honor you see in such ethics.

There's easier ways to forfeit a football game if that's all Jimmy and his employees are wired to stand for. Jimmy made a killing off of gullable customers accepting such treatment at Pilot. He's gotta be ecstatic people like you find it so wonderful today.

And if you think you see Andrew Luck on our door step as a prize for all this - I'd rather read your reply after your alarm clock wakes you up from this pipe dream. Do you really think it matters whether Jimmy's chosen ones draft 1st or 2nd overall when there's clearly not an obvious Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning waiting for us at #1 overall? How much will this matter?

Let's all approve what we saw today because we need to pretend this is our only shot at continuity and progress?

Jimmy's last chosen ones finished 3-18 in their final 21 games so the only continuity I see working here is we need to accept losing even more frequently with smiles on our faces with an ability to join hands and sing Koombaya in approval?

What was I thinking? We really have a Wonderful Football Life...

I must be as pissed as you are because I agree with everything you say.

Consistency for the sake of consistency is dumb. You've gotta have the right people to be consistent WITH.

Hue has made some truly head-scratching calls this season.

I go into this offseason thinking that we have a 3rd rate game-day HC.

....and thinking that we draft college players that are good at the college game and don't think about how they'll project into the NFL game.

Jimmy's last chosen ones finished 3-18 in their final 21 games so we have tons of continuity working here in terms knowing how to lose consistently.

there's never a clear #1 pick, we have to trust the people that get paid to make those decisions, we have not had a QB since Kosar so someone in this draft is a franchise QB, there usually is one in every draft, we just have to find him. I hope it's Trubisky and we take him #1 overall. If he turns into the next franchise QB nobody will care what pick he was.

  • Can't join the party and lose my shit over one bad play call... Hue had the PTG D, which by and large was their starters, off balance most of the game... a big reason we averaged "10 yards per run" or whatever the real number was.

In the end we simply did not know how to win... next time, next year we'll be closer to it.

Oh.... and I also loved Horton's calls the first half. He was really dialing up effective blitzes against an O whose skill level was off by 4 starters.

  • Look im just as astounded about that screen call. But its not why we lost. The steelers in the 1st half were yuckin it up playing like its the pro bowl. At half tome tomlin reminded them they havent lost to the browns since tc was our qb

Look, everything that previously unfolded was behind us at 1st and goal at the 2 yard line. I would have rather seen Hue walk up to the officials and said my owner wants me to forfeit the game right here right now. I would have at least seen some balls.

If you want to root for this kind of bush league - run it man!

  • easily the worst season Ive ever experienced as a Browns fan.....short of them leaving, of course....

Basically made me ill from day one.....and never wavered in it's disgustingness....

Not 1 bad play call, but a series of bad play calls. Should have been 4 Crow runs against a team that was done at that point.

If we couldn't punch it in with a pissed off Crow in 4 plays from 5' away, then we didn't deserve it.

Or, the play was diagnosed by somebody that has seen enough film to do what they did to us the last time we broke out the bubble screens on them with our first year starters at WR.

If you need to take it out of context and pretend Crow has fumbling problems, I won't stop you.

First and goal at the 2 yard line with a defense that only stopped Crow the time he fumbled. We win this game pretty easily in less than 4 hand offs for the situational football that was gift wrapped.

And now we have people arguing Hue deserves tenure...

And I thought I gave up too soon on the last regime midway through their second season.

  • This game has pissed me off.....more than any other.

We were playing our ARCH FRIGGIN RIVALS...in a regular season game....when they were playing their JV team and only half trying most of the time.....and we made stupid calls such that they beat us. My God that sucks bad.

We're rooting for tenure for a staff that can't score a TD with first and goal at the 2 against a bunch of Pittsburgh backups in a 1-15 season because we need this type of plan to continue?

Who's feel good excited about Tabor returning as our STs coach 1 more time?

And the Ray Horton that failed here before he failed in TN before he came back to look the part of a 1-15 DC in 2016?

What slam dunks tenure earned for all these squids?

If they've fired everyone before - why is Ray Horton and Chris Tabor still here as 2 of our 3 Coordinators? Neither unit is any better than the first unit they coordinated here.

Hue was hired to be our Head Coach so if he's going to control freak himself as our OC too - he's going to get criticized by more than just me when 1st and goal at the 2 yard line of Pittsburgh was too overwhelming for comfort. I can think of way tougher challenges for OCs everywhere...

We should secure 5 more 1 win seasons by refoing the caching staff all overbagain. Than doing it again at this time next year and again the year after that. At which point the browns org will be reaching out to the genius's here at the browns board to cone coach their team made up of all practice squad guys. Coach em up

Can't wait! The AFC North needs us to assume our position for the same spankings and 1-15 they expect from our barometer of continuity.

It's all in the "plan" Tom. Mitch is going back to Carolina for one more year, so when we go 1-15 in 2017, we can draft him with the first pick. 🙂
