  • Can't join the party and lose my shit over one bad play call... Hue had the PTG D, which by and large was their starters, off balance most of the game... a big reason we averaged "10 yards per run" or whatever the real number was.

In the end we simply did not know how to win... next time, next year we'll be closer to it.

Oh.... and I also loved Horton's calls the first half. He was really dialing up effective blitzes against an O whose skill level was off by 4 starters.

Not 1 bad play call, but a series of bad play calls. Should have been 4 Crow runs against a team that was done at that point.

If we couldn't punch it in with a pissed off Crow in 4 plays from 5' away, then we didn't deserve it.

  • A HB that had already fumbled on the goaline.

Not to mention that play would have worked. 3 WRs vs 3 DBs. Pryor just whiffed on his block.

Or, the play was diagnosed by somebody that has seen enough film to do what they did to us the last time we broke out the bubble screens on them with our first year starters at WR.

If you need to take it out of context and pretend Crow has fumbling problems, I won't stop you.

  • easily the worst season Ive ever experienced as a Browns fan.....short of them leaving, of course....

Basically made me ill from day one.....and never wavered in it's disgustingness....

First and goal at the 2 yard line with a defense that only stopped Crow the time he fumbled. We win this game pretty easily in less than 4 hand offs for the situational football that was gift wrapped.

And now we have people arguing Hue deserves tenure...

And I thought I gave up too soon on the last regime midway through their second season.

  • This game has pissed me off.....more than any other.

We were playing our ARCH FRIGGIN RIVALS...in a regular season game....when they were playing their JV team and only half trying most of the time.....and we made stupid calls such that they beat us. My God that sucks bad.

The rams are the worst team in the league by far based on talent and lack of wins

We're rooting for tenure for a staff that can't score a TD with first and goal at the 2 against a bunch of Pittsburgh backups in a 1-15 season because we need this type of plan to continue?

Who's feel good excited about Tabor returning as our STs coach 1 more time?

And the Ray Horton that failed here before he failed in TN before he came back to look the part of a 1-15 DC in 2016?

What slam dunks tenure earned for all these squids?

If they've fired everyone before - why is Ray Horton and Chris Tabor still here as 2 of our 3 Coordinators? Neither unit is any better than the first unit they coordinated here.

Hue was hired to be our Head Coach so if he's going to control freak himself as our OC too - he's going to get criticized by more than just me when 1st and goal at the 2 yard line of Pittsburgh was too overwhelming for comfort. I can think of way tougher challenges for OCs everywhere...

We should secure 5 more 1 win seasons by refoing the caching staff all overbagain. Than doing it again at this time next year and again the year after that. At which point the browns org will be reaching out to the genius's here at the browns board to cone coach their team made up of all practice squad guys. Coach em up

Can't wait! The AFC North needs us to assume our position for the same spankings and 1-15 they expect from our barometer of continuity.

It's all in the "plan" Tom. Mitch is going back to Carolina for one more year, so when we go 1-15 in 2017, we can draft him with the first pick. 🙂

  • *** 1st and Goal from the 2 - in OT - we DON'T run a running play - and we lose the game ***

  • Bubble screen is a shitty call there, but rg3 because he is such a shitty qb has the recognize press coverage and audible into a different play this loss is on him. The ot would have never happened if the dumbshit would just throw the ball away instead of thinking he can out run everyone and make a play.

    THIS!!!!!
  • You can't run a wr screen on the 2 yard line. EVER!!!!!!!!!

all of the 11 defenders are on the line of scrimmage

That play will NEVER EVER work

If you think that play is a good call, you are the most idiotic person that has ever watched NFL football.

Let alone coached or actually called plays in this league

They said I was daft for building a castle on a swamp. Well, I showed them. I built it anyway.

    It sank.

    So I built another one.

    It sank.

So I built another one and it stayed up.

    ---- sorry, I'm ok now.

Ya see, that's why they try to throw FADES into the corner of the end zones because everybody's RIGHT FREAKIN' THERE in front of you and on top of you.

And not for nuthin' but, backwards passing is really quite a bad idea. That could've easily wound up as a fumble instead of a completion (in other words, it wouldn't have been called INC).

Our HEADCOACH decided to run the 2nd dumbest play in the entire 90 year history of the NFL. Only play call worse was the "Miracle at the Meadowlands"

Can we PLEASE get a HEADCOACH that is a HEADCOACH.

Stop calling plays. That's why you have coordinators

  • 1st and Goal at the 2 yard line with a RB that rushed for 150 yards and you prefer to throw a pussy-footed bubble screen against Pittsburgh's Junior Varsity?

    Faaaaawk Hue!

This weekend I've seen the following teams using Bubble screens in the game plans: Ohio State in a 31-0 ostrich pose, Washington in a game plan Alabama was extremely thankful for and a Cleveland Offense terrified of Pittsburgh backups.

And Hue is worried about the front office? Do I really need 1 more year to tell everyone I've seen enough?

For those of you mad at me for quitting on the last regime finishing 3-18 = losing the veteran buy in; I've seen enough of this staff even quicker. Who wants continuity of this? Go ahead - run it...

Yes you need another yr, you cant have any hope of winning if you blow things up every year, we have tried that ad nauseum, it doesnt work. So whether Hue sucks in the long run or not you have to let him have a chance to succeed. Hue didn't fumble the ball at the end of the game, or fumble the ball into the endzone. This game didn't boil down to a bubble screen in OT.

we played it to give Pitt a chance to win and secure the #1 pick. That part is obvious.

So bringing the game into OT and down to the 2 yard line was all acting for the benefit of fans that have followed this team at least 30 years?

Thank God we've raised the bar on what's acceptable moving forward. Yay!!!!!!!

Yup Tom. Had the relatives over for New Years and finally got to watch the tape. I'll grant you that was Hueless the Clueless running a play in OT that was doomed. Now calm down. We kicked the FG- all the D had to do was prevent a TD on the ensuing series, and it's probably at least a tie- which BTW would still have gotten us the #1 pick,

And it should never have gone to OT in the first place. It may have been the Steelers scrubs- but the Browns freaking dominated the game- until it mattered. Griffin misses the snap. Calhoon loses the ball at the 1 yard line that should have been a sure TD. Crowell fumbles the ball at the 2. We had them beat 3X over, and still managed to lose the game. So typical of the way this season went down.

  • Also, on that bubble screen play call, part of that is on RG3, Hue makes the initial call but RG3 should be able to recognize what the defense is trying to do and check out of that play. Not every call coming from the sideline is going to be spot on, and RG3 should have checked into a run or something else, so why calling a bubble screen wasn't exactly a great call, this also shows that RG3 wasn't able to recognize what the defense was trying to do at the LOS.

  • I really dont get all the people saying we couldn't beat pissburgs jv team or scrubs!? They had 4 FOUR starters sit, i saw their starters on D playing the whole game so i dont get the jv bs.

After reading the post game comments from hawk and rg3, id bet dollars to donuts that the play called at the 2 yd. line was a run play with a bubble screen built in, very common play design nowadays. Hawk flat out said he didn't think he was getting the ball and was surprised. So that means Hue called a run first play, RG3 tried to be cute and threw the screen. RG3 even said he should have just handed the ball off. So everyone that's bashing Hue needs to jump off his nutsack, he coulda threw RG3 under the bus on that one but he didn't. IMO RG3 is still pretty raw. He got coached up his rookie year and then became an afterthought until this season. Im kinda intrigued about him having another full offseason with him being healthy and having the coaches focused on him. I understand that fans are frustrated with how the season went, i sure am. Maybe give the coach a chance to grow with his very very young and raw team.

It's not like Griffin is a raw rookie. Great if Hue didn't throw him under the bus. But if he's still making dumb ass mistakes like that after four years in the league, you put him on the bus out of town.
