    THIS!!!!!
  • You can't run a wr screen on the 2 yard line. EVER!!!!!!!!!

all of the 11 defenders are on the line of scrimmage

That play will NEVER EVER work

If you think that play is a good call, you are the most idiotic person that has ever watched NFL football.

Let alone coached or actually called plays in this league

They said I was daft for building a castle on a swamp. Well, I showed them. I built it anyway.

    It sank.

    So I built another one.

    It sank.

So I built another one and it stayed up.

    ---- sorry, I'm ok now.

Ya see, that's why they try to throw FADES into the corner of the end zones because everybody's RIGHT FREAKIN' THERE in front of you and on top of you.

And not for nuthin' but, backwards passing is really quite a bad idea. That could've easily wound up as a fumble instead of a completion (in other words, it wouldn't have been called INC).

Our HEADCOACH decided to run the 2nd dumbest play in the entire 90 year history of the NFL. Only play call worse was the "Miracle at the Meadowlands"

Can we PLEASE get a HEADCOACH that is a HEADCOACH.

Stop calling plays. That's why you have coordinators

  • 1st and Goal at the 2 yard line with a RB that rushed for 150 yards and you prefer to throw a pussy-footed bubble screen against Pittsburgh's Junior Varsity?

    Faaaaawk Hue!

This weekend I've seen the following teams using Bubble screens in the game plans: Ohio State in a 31-0 ostrich pose, Washington in a game plan Alabama was extremely thankful for and a Cleveland Offense terrified of Pittsburgh backups.

And Hue is worried about the front office? Do I really need 1 more year to tell everyone I've seen enough?

For those of you mad at me for quitting on the last regime finishing 3-18 = losing the veteran buy in; I've seen enough of this staff even quicker. Who wants continuity of this? Go ahead - run it...

Yes you need another yr, you cant have any hope of winning if you blow things up every year, we have tried that ad nauseum, it doesnt work. So whether Hue sucks in the long run or not you have to let him have a chance to succeed. Hue didn't fumble the ball at the end of the game, or fumble the ball into the endzone. This game didn't boil down to a bubble screen in OT.

we played it to give Pitt a chance to win and secure the #1 pick. That part is obvious.

So bringing the game into OT and down to the 2 yard line was all acting for the benefit of fans that have followed this team at least 30 years?

Thank God we've raised the bar on what's acceptable moving forward. Yay!!!!!!!

Yup Tom. Had the relatives over for New Years and finally got to watch the tape. I'll grant you that was Hueless the Clueless running a play in OT that was doomed. Now calm down. We kicked the FG- all the D had to do was prevent a TD on the ensuing series, and it's probably at least a tie- which BTW would still have gotten us the #1 pick,

And it should never have gone to OT in the first place. It may have been the Steelers scrubs- but the Browns freaking dominated the game- until it mattered. Griffin misses the snap. Calhoon loses the ball at the 1 yard line that should have been a sure TD. Crowell fumbles the ball at the 2. We had them beat 3X over, and still managed to lose the game. So typical of the way this season went down.

  • Also, on that bubble screen play call, part of that is on RG3, Hue makes the initial call but RG3 should be able to recognize what the defense is trying to do and check out of that play. Not every call coming from the sideline is going to be spot on, and RG3 should have checked into a run or something else, so why calling a bubble screen wasn't exactly a great call, this also shows that RG3 wasn't able to recognize what the defense was trying to do at the LOS.

  • I really dont get all the people saying we couldn't beat pissburgs jv team or scrubs!? They had 4 FOUR starters sit, i saw their starters on D playing the whole game so i dont get the jv bs.

After reading the post game comments from hawk and rg3, id bet dollars to donuts that the play called at the 2 yd. line was a run play with a bubble screen built in, very common play design nowadays. Hawk flat out said he didn't think he was getting the ball and was surprised. So that means Hue called a run first play, RG3 tried to be cute and threw the screen. RG3 even said he should have just handed the ball off. So everyone that's bashing Hue needs to jump off his nutsack, he coulda threw RG3 under the bus on that one but he didn't. IMO RG3 is still pretty raw. He got coached up his rookie year and then became an afterthought until this season. Im kinda intrigued about him having another full offseason with him being healthy and having the coaches focused on him. I understand that fans are frustrated with how the season went, i sure am. Maybe give the coach a chance to grow with his very very young and raw team.

It's not like Griffin is a raw rookie. Great if Hue didn't throw him under the bus. But if he's still making dumb ass mistakes like that after four years in the league, you put him on the bus out of town.

  • All QBs make dumb mistakes, some more than others. I just think he has alot of room to grow still.

If the head coach decides not to even dress 5 offensive starters, it's pretty obvious they don't care about the win. The defense, although many starters, played with the attitude set by the head coach. They played it like a preseason game.

Tomlin,Arias,McCarthy even Pete Carroll calling a pass at GL in a SB made mistakes in first couple seasons..Coaches/playcallers don't throw/block or fumble, but they find the guy that did not do his Job..Yes HueJax is a rookie coach..but lets give Hue the chance to grow like some other HC's..Repeated major flaws should not be that hard to find..

  • My apologies for the thread long rant folks. You don't deserve to read that kind of garbage. I broke my own rule about not posting immediately after drinking too many depressants during a disappointing loss. The only thing I did right was show people not to drink and post.

I appreciate all those trying to reason with me or clarify things as well as those that told me they felt the same way. I love every damn one of yuz.

As for Hue, I've been one of the guys wearing rose colored glasses for him almost to a fault since we hired him. If we fired him after only 1 season, the only kind of coaches that would be interested in this gig would be Chip Kelly, Ken Wisenhunt or Rex Ryan not to be confused with Jim Schwartz. Believe it or not, I get that when I'm Budweiser Platinum Free. You have to give a new HC that inherited all the land mines here from previous drafts more than 1 year to prove himself.

Time to shift energy back to the draft and our #1 overall we pick we earned.

Welcome to the dark side, bro....

it happens.....go with it.....let your "true" feelings be known......it's healthy to get it out.....

You can only delude yourself and be the good fan for so long, before you realize you're being played.......

Well im good. Im in no mood for another coaching change until we have serious talent in place and our current staff has multiple years to do something with them. Just fixing the talent gap is gonna take another 2-3 years.

Agreed.....while I dont think Hue is what so many hoped he would be....(IE: A GREAT COACH).....I do think he is the right guy to bring this young team along......THEN, get replaced when its time to win.....

    @flugel said:

there is the better route to go with your loyal customers/fans?

Jimmy made a killing off of gullable customers accepting such treatment at Pilot. He's gotta be ecstatic people like you find it so wonderful today.

Let's all approve what we saw today because we need to pretend this is our only shot at continuity and progress?

we need to accept losing even more frequently with smiles on our faces with an ability to join hands and sing Koombaya in approval?

    What was I thinking?

Well....that has been the mantra all season, hasnt it?........at least thats what us "neg heads" have been hearing.....over and over....

Hue has made some truly head-scratching calls this season.

I go into this offseason thinking that we have a 3rd rate game-day HC.

Yes he has......and yes we do......BUT, he does have the young guys ears and is probably the right type of guy to endure the massacre our FO has foisted on this team......lets wait another year or 2 before we pursue a real coach, cuz we need to get and develop some real players before it even matters.....

  • I'm not a hue-pumper and I won't argue that he's a top 5 coach or that he's even the long term answer. What I will argue however is that firing a coach with the worst roster in football after 1 year won't solve anything. We all knew that this would be a shit show, and that it wouldn't get fixed over night.

It seems that for 3 years straight Jason Garrett was supposed to lose his job. Every time Jerry Jones said he was sticking with his guy, the media was miffed and the fans were pissed. After a 13 win season, the masses have stopped asserting that Jason Garrett doesn't have what it takes to coach in the NFL. Hue has made plenty of mistakes, but that's ok, this is the time to make those mistakes. Cyborg Paul Brown couldn't lead this team to a .500 record so what's it matter?

If Hue shows an inability to learn from mistakes we have a real problem, but we are going to need a little more time to know that for sure. One thing I do know for sure is whatever division 4 cornerbacks coach they'd hire to replace Hue would make a shitload of mistakes and the whole cycle would start all over again. This problem is the same as every other Brown's problem and will only be solved by a franchise QB and a competent defense.

Worse than handing the ball off to the TE playing full back who had never carried the ball before?
