What happened to "better to be safe than sorry"? I don't recall any of these protestors putting their home address on the posters with the inscription "mi casa es su casa" - so honestly, they can fuck right off.
This isn't a humanitarian effort, folks. It's an opportunity to demonize an adminstration and a large segment of the population that you hate because they're "racist bigoted rednecks."

If it is fear it is a healthy common sense fear. We know there are Islamic radicals who want to kill us and we know they would use any means to do it. Slipping in with refugees would be a good way to infiltrate into our country so common sense would tell you to investigate and vet those you let into your country.

Ok, so you know MAY no a felon lives next to you. I say MAY because few municipalities maintain online felony databases for non-sex offenders, hence all the background checking agencies. We have a police force because we have both factual data about crime and a fear of those crimes happening to us. We have a standing army because we have a plethora of historical information that without one you are likely to be invaded. The same can be said for fire departments. The fear is justified by data, so of course we have those things. So does every country on the planet.
The idea that an immigration ban will keep terrorists out has little data to support it and is based more on fear. I prefer our policies are backed by data. Otherwise, we're just wasting time, money, resources, and hurting our standing in the world.
