This is something many of us have thought about for quite some time. To me, Collin Kaepernick checks several boxes needed for Hue Jackson's offense, but there are still several more than remain giant question marks. Can he quickly process information? Can he get the ball out accurately, in stride to receivers? What kind of teammate is he? And what do you pay a guy like this? His numbers this year are better than I would've guessed, but I'm not sure they tell a complete story. How many of those TD's came when the game was out of hand? I honestly don't know. I don't know his situational statistics. Maybe they're good, perhaps not. I confess to not watching the 49's much this year, as I was busy watching my own shitshow.
If we're going this route, I'd much rather have Tyrod Taylor. I understand he didn't have the best year, and his deep ball was severely lacking, but he takes care of the ball and I like the guy. He's not my first overall choice, as that belongs to JG, but I'm not sure we're going to win that race. The 49's will have Kyle Shanahan coaching their team, and I'm thinking one of the conditions of him taking the job was that San Francisco would go all-in on Garoppolo. Of course I have nothing to support this idea, but it's fun to speculate.

Many people wouldn't be against that, but remember, Bengals owner is on record saying he wouldn't trade within the division. I could be wrong, but I can't think of too many, if ANY, trades they've done with us. Maybe they've changed that line of thinking?
