Colin Kaepernick to Cleveland?

The Browns will trade for Garopollo. That's my "bold" prediction. Based on what?
- Flashback to the previous administration and coaching staff. Shanny wanted Carr or Garopollo as the Browns QB. Sashi Brown is an analytics guy. Analytics would've said don't draft Manziel due to his physical stature. Brown has also hinted that he didn't support Manziel deal.
- Farmer drafts Manziel. We don't know if that was driven by Farmer, Haslem, or both, but Farmer did take responsibility for it. We all know the history of tweets to start Manziel that drove a rift in the organization.
- As a result, Pettine and Farmer are out, and the guy who probably agreed with Shanny about the QB pick is promoted to GM.
- The Mingo deal established a relationship between the current front office in Berea and the Patriots. I contend this deal wasn't just about getting a draft pick for Mingo. It was about laying the groundwork for an eventual future deal.
- Next, we get the Collins deal. This builds further trust and demonstrates to both sides that the other side is willing to make major deals with the other.
We all know that the Browns have the most assets to make the deal, and I contend that Brown has probably had an interest in Garopollo since he was drafted.

Yea, if they will take our #52 plus like a 6th rounder for him....then and only then will I believe in "trust". If they want anything more than that, then they can kiss any trust goodbye as far as I am concerned.
By the way, I heard Bill Polian this morning. And he agreed. He said that the most that should be traded for JG is a mid 2d round pick. He says JG is decent talent, and yes, he can play in the NFL...but that is all he would give up for him.

Again he is better than anyone on our current roster.

Would you consider that 52 pick and another second or third next season? Because that's a deal I can get behind, even though it's substantially better.
I don't want any part of our first three picks this season going for him. I think that's a fool's deal.
But Jimmy G, a GOOD free agency period and three starters with the first three picks, this team can pick up some wins next season.

IM PROB stop being a browns fan if they sign kap the piece of garbage who dont honor the anthem!!!!

I think a lot of fans feel this way, and that's why the Browns can't afford to bring him in.
It's not happening.
Besides, just from an on-field standpoint, we have a lot of chips ... A LOT ... And there are better options out there. Now way would we settle on this guy if he was completely baggage free.
The writer is an idiot. Any fucktard can write a lazy article and get a fan base flustered. Don't pay attention to this crap, it's not happening.

Quarterback acquisition is a zero sum game. If we trade for Jimmy G, and he becomes a top-10 QB for the next 10 years, than he'd be worth the #1 pick in the draft. That's how important QB is. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter if you only gave up a 7th round pick for him, it still would've been a bad trade because he isn't going to contribute except as possibly a backup.
It all comes down to the odds that he can be 'the guy.' The greater the odds are, the more you will be willing to give up for him.

#52, plus a pick next year, round 2-3? I would not prefer it, but maybe. I guess it depends on if the Browns have acquired some additional ammo for next year as well.
Though, as I said earlier....no trade AT ALL unless it comes with a contract extension. (that could be a hold up on JGs side....fair to say?)

Every single QB that is out there that may be available is going to surface as a "possible" for the Browns. From Jimmy Garropolo, to Tyrod Taylor to Colin Kaepernick, to Tony Romo, to Jay Cutler to Humbo Nooney to Toony Lucas to Bob Dobolito to Sid Finch.

I'll pass on Kaepernick. The browns don't need another mediocre quarterback with off the field controversy
