Trubisky's Experience May Not Prevent Him From Being The 1st QB Selected - Thanks to the Spread?

[Mudfly]

I would expect timing to be much more critical than velocity.......as long as it arrives at the right moment.....

Good anticipation and vision probably makes up for a few mph of zip....

[Tour2ma]

Timing, anticipation and release time all can compensate for velocity... but there is a lower limit.

And the velocity issue is a wind issue as well.

Well.... Trubell has cleared a major hurdle... Gruden likes him... and MKC is making sure we know it!

Jon Gruden believes Mitchell Trubisky can handle Browns' hometown pressure and 'he'll be a real steal for somebody'

He's not a scout. He gets paid for ratings.

His QB camp is meant to get clicks and views. It's not supposed to be a scouting tool by any means. Dude has no reason to ever say anything bad about the participants on his show.

He's an entertainer and no agent sends their player to him if he is anything other than positive about everyone he has on. Now mooch tried to do that with Tribbles, but his non-verbal pauses said a lot more during the play reproduction.

[The Gipper]

There was another interview with him yesterday, reported by Tony Rizzo, which was apparently very positive. It was not the Gruden thing..but some other ESPN person.

Jon did come perilously close to not being able to find anything good to say about a couple prospects in the past couple years. The strain was palpable.

Can't remember who they were tho... Mettenberger maybe? Wheezy?

I'd forgotten he's had non-QBs come to "camp" in past years.

Here are this year's invitees: DeShone Kizer, Mitch Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes, Nathan Peterman, Joshua Dobbs and Brad Kaaya

[Westside Steve]

I think I might have Davis Webb in that mix.

WSS

I like Kizer

[Bigalow80]

Gruden qb camp would be soooo much better if he actually pointed out the flaws and ranked the qb's. he's too positive IMOP about everyone. I can't watch it because it's the same "everybody gets a trophy" approach. I wish he would just come out and say, this guy is a late round pick or this guy needs to be the first qb off the board.

[Tour2ma]

Now I remember... Gruden was pretty reserved in his comments about Cardale Jones last year.
