And I still think it highly possible that the Browns take a DT in rounds 2-3.

Jets our in cap hell with fire sale is future. DT Shelton Richardson is 26. A hell of a 3 Tech DT. Just like Collins, has 1 year left on a deal..I think that your 3rd (like Collins) just may do it..Shelton has a little baggage. So no to a second, Maybe even slip's him to a comp.4th

Works for me. At least we know he has NFL capability, whereas any rookie is always a question mark.

Sure, lets play a bunch of guys out of position and see how that goes. Great. Unless you think that Ogbah and Nassib have the versatility of a JJ Watt or Reggie White, I would let them play their position.

Nascar packages gipper. That means long passing downs, 4 DE's on the line.

Yea. OK. But what about base package. 1st and 10, or running downs. Another space eater next to Shelton to bottle up the middle would be good. Meder, Bryant...OK. But I think we could use another.

Jonathan Hankins is still out there. OSU product. 6'3 320. He could do. Come on home.

Meder and shelton next to each other in the 4-3 "should" be a terror up the middle. They cant double team both somon one side they may need to help the guard with a chip from the tackle, which should in theiry help the DE on that side if the team doesnt bring in a TE to help the tackle. With the addition of garett along with whst we hope are the improved DE's from last year.....we should have a very good front 4

  • And hopefully that means the lb'ers benefit

I still see Meder as essentially the backup/rotation player. Sticking with the Greek theme, Shelton is our Alpha along the interior DL. We need a Beta. Meder is sort of the Delta. The wingman, the sidekick.

Or are you trying to say something else? Like with the Green Hornet and Kato. Who really was the Alpha?

  • Im just saying i like our rotation. Maybe some weeks meder is sheltons backup, but id line to see them in there together a decent amt. Two amazing space eaters. If our lb'ers still cant sniff the right hole behind those two than fuck it shitcan tje whole lb'ing corp

Im with you on that Cleve.....thinking Meder could be a whole lot more effective on the inside(of a 4-3) than as a stand alone NT or DE in the ole 3-4......those 2 fat fucks in the middle, with Ogbah and Garrett outside would be a nice starting rotation....with Dez and Nassib waiting in trhe wings for qualitry depth/back up minutes.....

Hankins will be expensive. I've been working on a new mock draft - it's exasperating to try. I drafted

a 3-tech DL... but I have to call Flugels again, and have him explain to me what a 3-tech is......lol

But I have this guy in it:

Larry Ogunjobi, Charlotte, 6'3", 305 lbs. Ran the 40 in 4.9

    http://kckingdom.com/2017/03/18/2017-nfl-draft-kansas-city-chiefs-scouting-report-larry-ogunjobi/

great kid, fits the profile, compares to Hankins - will need to add 15/20 lbs... he weighed 350 in hs before he made

life changes - he moves like a huge de. Right now, I'm trying to think I can get him in the third round, but

it might have to be the second round.

  • If it's space eating you want, then Danny plus Stamples is the Rx. Personally, I don't... I want a disruptor by my immovable object. And of our rostered DTs, that's Des.

Love Meder's motor, but he's a tweener physically... not quick enough to disrupt and not strong enough to be immovable. That's why he was miscast in the 3-4 at either DL position. He has a chance to produce more in the 4-3, but not much more.

i disagree i would say meder is one of if not the strongest player we have on defense. unfortunately it seems as though brute strength is his only trick lol iv'e seen him push a center to a QB countless times so far i've seen him even push through some double teams. buts its almost always a straight up shoving match.

  • Can't say I've never sen that, CDS... but that's pass rush, not run D.

Vs. the pass, Meder's not going to be in there, if we are given a chance to sub.

Well, we have the wherewithal to sign Hankins even if he is expensive. We still have a huge amount of cap space to spend.

And OK on Ogunobi. I picked him for the Jags in our Mock draft. I think it was in the 3rd or 4th round. He could be an option

Perhaps you are right about our "roster" players. But Des B. has had injury issues, and I just think that we could use another disruptor in there.

Plus, I agree about Meder. Love the guy, but he is a tweener. A serviceable rotation player.

  • I have to agree that meder seems to be as strong as danny if not stronger. Wasnt horton two gapping the interior guys this time? First time he was here he one gapped, so the guys got penetration but we got gouged on thevrun. I think thats why peoplebsometimes think our interior guys werent doing anything when they were doing exactly what they were supposed to.

I don't think he will still be there, but Florida's Brantley would be great @ 33 unless Allen falls to us @ 12.

What about Carlos Watkins from Clemson?

remember Shaq Lawson DE from Clemson that went to Bills in first round last draft. Never saw a down last season & most medicals said don't touch him. Well Carlos Watkins in 13 went back to his home town in Forest City,NC. Weather related.. Carlos was travelling with his cousin (the driver) who passed in the car accident. Carlos suffered neck injuries/blood clots in both legs & was called lucky for his size packed in a car. Which Carlos was found 1 hour later after wreck. He's tough as nails always fighting thru neck, ankles & Hand injuries. But Carlos is as close to 9 lives as you may not want to get into 2..(we know 9-11. the wreck was 9-13-13. Clint Eastwood--Do we feel lucky?)
