  • says the guy who doesn't know the Bible, isn't a Christian...

not good to not know so much, but think you know it all.

I have no idea how liberals make that work.

  • Some of the most knowledgeable people anout the boble arent christians........"because" they read the bible top to bottom. Most of you grey pube fgts have only read the king james cliffs, or what ur pastor told u to read on sundays.

The Pharisees were very knowledgeable about the scriptures in Jesus time. It is not knowledge that is needed it is wisdom and that comes from God.

  • See? That.

You don't have wisdom from God. So I'm right.

    Nothing you can debate there

Oh but I do have wisdom from God. He is my wisdom:

1 Corinthians 1:30New International Version (NIV)

30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

New International Version 1 Cor. 1:18

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Cal says this better than I could:

Yeah and when people who've studied the bible more than you would be able to in several lifetimes, bring up glaring inconsistencies and other various bullshit the bible is replete with, you say those people are clearly satanists bent on destroying the word. So you've all walled yourselves in

Like they do in North Korea? That should be a utopian society free from religion.

I find it hard to believe you would really think people would live peacefully and tolerantly with others if not for Christians. That day is prophesied to come and the bible speaks the opposite of what the world will be like when the restraining force is taken out of the way. This is one of the scriptures open to interpretation as some believe the restraining force is referring to the Holy Spirit and some believe it is the church. Regardless when it happens it is the start of the tribulation period spoken of in the bible as the worst time ever in human history and not people living peacefully and tolerantly.

If you study the bible you always keep learning new things. It is a living word. I have learned alot in many years of study and still get excited when i learn new things. If there are people out there who "know more than I would know in several lifetimes" as you claim and they are still non believers then they are fools:

"The fool hath said in his heart there is no God" Psalm 14:1

So you immediately equate a learned person of the bible dismissing it with being an atheist. That's classic defense. Unfortunately it holds no water because there are myriads of reasons why someone who is not atheist would reject the bible. I know this is going to blow your mind, but there are people who beleive in christ.....who completely and flat out reject the bible as a work of men. Who's to say. Im not sure if i beleive in jesus or not, but i damn well smell the written words of filthy men when i read them.

How do they know about Jesus? The bible. But how can they believe in Jesus if they don't believe what is written about him in the bible? They can't. There is only one sure way to know Jesus and that is through the bible. God promised to preserve His word and I believe He has. Jesus is even called the word. After Jesus death and resurrection the bible says the disciples went out and preached the word and miracles happened with signs following the word being preached (before the bible was written it was the spoken word of the disciples). David said God had magnified His word above His name. The word is that important.

There are other accts of jesus outside the bible. The cathars were exterminated because they interpreted jesus's msg differently than the corrupt roman catholic church.

  • I spent most of my childhood as a Catholic. I learned about the Bible. Luckily my parents weren't really pushing it, and it became obvious the whole thing was BS early on.

OBF was born with genetics making him predisposed to believing in religion.

But I'm influenced by the devil, so who knows.

  • funny, catholics really dont "push " the bible either

    they push the catechism

and if that realization gives you some pause, then perhaps you, like the countless others

have found out, that faith in Christ is really about it being personal, and not rules driven
