    HEY FOOTBALL NEWS!

    The Hall of Fame has picked opponents for its annual preseason showdown.

    The Dallas Cowboys will face the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at the new Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

    The choice of teams makes plenty of sense, with former Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner and Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones both set to be enshrined into the Hall.

    The rest of this year's class includes running backs Terrell Davis and LaDainian Tomlinson, pass-rusher Jason Taylor, safety Kenny Easley and kicker Morten Andersen.

    ---> This year's tilt will kick off on Thursday for the first time in NFL history..... NFL HOF SITE

              Oh yes all games are finalized as soon as possible so the logistics of ticket sales, reservations and all of that can occur.

              ~~~~~~~~~~~~
              And how about that 2018 eligibility list, a few former BROWNS there but who are the serious contenders like Randy Moss?
              All in all a somewhat weak class.
                  I'll be watching I'm actually taking the day off to enjoy the tv programming.
                  As far as the game the Cards And Cowgirls won't be playing any starters but still it gives each team more looks and reps to the bubble players.
                        Oh I'm always an A. here being a retired sports junkie. I like the speeches although they are way more scripted now versus the old run on forever ones....some quite moving and memorable, remember Michael Irvin?
                        And the game is in our backyard in an updated high school stadium that I played in in the 1960s, yeah more Ohio football memories.
                        Oh our company did the steel on a few Canton HOF expansions, talk about a land locked site, never envisioned it being that big or successful.....no strategic planning there. 😉
                                Best bets for induction next year for first timers are guys that I have highlighted above. Under normal circumstances I think Ray Lewis and Randy Moss would be sure fire first ballot HOFers. But, some off field issues exist with Lewis (like questions over a double homicide)...and with Moss it was whether or not he truly did his best at times.
                                  Both Lewis and Moss are shoo-ins along with Urlacher and Hutchinson...
                                  At the opposite end of the spectrum are a number of "Really? Him?" eligibles... and even a couple "Who?"
                                      You referring to Ray Ray's potential victims? Tour says he is a shoe-in. Normally I would say "no doubt"....and supposedly "off field" matters are not supposed to play any part in the HOF selection process (aren't they?)....but....I still say that perhaps a sufficient number of the voters could still give Lewis a "time out" on his HOF induction because of the suspicion of his involvement in those deaths.
                                        Does character matter for HOF consideration at all? MLB somewhat thinks so. Good luck year one there with "flaws" in your background the way their balloting goes.
                                        But with this 2018 class 1. Moss 2. Lewis? 3. Everyone else.
                                          Lets put it this way: does character matter? Perhaps not in the written rules of HOF voting procedure....but do you think it does not come into play when those guys cast their ballots?
                                          Think about Terrell Owens. About as good of HOF credentials as you can get...yet he has been waiting for 2 years now simply because he has been viewed as a bit of an asshole to his teammates. What else is there? And think about the OJ situation.
                                          I think these voters may exercise some conservatism when it comes to things like this.
                                          Lewis...no doubt, based on on field performance is first ballot material.
                                          Nevertheless.....Hello!
