The ONLY premises in my post were:
A. FSU has been better historically than TAMU, and
B. Fisher went to TAMU for the money.
C. Fisher did not maintain FSU at the same level of performance as Bobby Bowden.
So...explain which of these premises is wrong...and why?
Just what I said. B and C. He went for alot more than the money, if by money you are referring to his personal salary. He's said as much and it's pretty obvious when you evaluate the situation.
Fisher was better than Bowden at the end of the latter's career. They forced Bowden out because he was slipping. Jimbo came in, revived things, and won the national championship in year 4. 4 top 10 finishes. 5 top 15 finishes. 6 top 20 finishes. Finished ranked every single year. Yeah you're right. What a loser.

Of course he went for the money.. $75 mil before endorsements? State of the art facility? Word out of Tallahassee is they wouldn't build him a facility on a level of Clemson's but A&M already has one that's close in place.. Supposedly that was huge as well.

It's never just for the money at this level -but- money is a big motivator. These guys are already very well off football guys.

He won the Jim Thorpe Award in 1988. He was also a standout punt returner for Florida State, leading the nation in 1988 with his punt return average, and breaking the school's record for career punt return yards. Sanders made an interception with 5 seconds left to seal Florida State's 13-7 win over Auburn in the 1989 Sugar Bowl, during the 1988 postseason. And these top college coaches make an obscene amount of money now these moves are generally about other things like change of scenery, control, whatever. Even mid and lower coaches can make six or seven digit salaries.
It's only about the money in movies........... or court.

Uhm, they are hoping to change a loser program into a winning program. They are hoping to become more competitive with the better programs in their conference. A&M would like to be able to achieve the level that Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Florida are at (even though Fla. has had some down seasons...A&M has never been where Florida has been)
In the Big Ten....FMU would like to achieve the level that OSU, PSU, Wisconsin, MSU are at...or have been over the last decade. Even Penn St. recovered from a worst disaster quicker than FMU has. (I will take it that you don't mind if I call the reigns of RichRod and Hoke a disaster....in FMU terms. Harbaugh is helping them recover....but it is going slower than I am sure and other FMU alum would like.
